Considering the attention it is getting these days (a couple days ago, Adrian Heath told the Everton official website we are targeting 2014, which would most likely be team #20), I would like to officially ask for Orlando to get its own separate MLS expansion thread. It is clear MLS is now getting serious about our ambitions.
Yes, he means an Orlando sub-forum under "MLS Expansion: Candidate Cities" instead of having to create threads inside the Florida sub-forum.
Re: Officially asking for separate Orlando MLS expansion subforum Subforum. Not unusual for me to screw something like that up.
Re: Officially asking for separate Orlando MLS expansion subforum How serious a candidate is Orlando? Has Garber discussed it?
During the week leading up to the 2011 MLS Cup, Garber talked in his "State of the League" conference about going to a meeting that day with a potential ownership group in Florida. That ownership group was Orlando City. MLS is on the record as going to inspect Orlando during the Pro Soccer Classic in late February. Using current subforums as examples, that's certainly more serious these days than Phoenix, Milwaukee, Ottawa, or even St. Louis.
Re: Officially asking for separate Orlando MLS expansion subforum As O-Ray has said, it has been recently discussed by MLS and noted on their website and press releases. Orlando certainly has more traction, currently, than Tampa, Miami or Jacksonville. Maybe we could do a Orlando subforum and a Other Florida subforum for everything else?
Re: Officially asking for separate Orlando MLS expansion subforum DK, if you have any more questions/concerns, let me know. I stand ready to serve.
If is not too late could there be a link on the MLS expansion forum that links to the USL Orlando forum? To not have 2 Orlando FC forums, then again an Orlando forum could be used if a different Orlando team wants to join MLS.
