Per Craig Merz: Two sources have told me Crew is going to FoxSports Ohio for games and weekly show. Will update if hear more.
Someone needs to cross-reference the Crew's schedule and the Reds' schedule to see how many times we'll be tape-delayed on Saturday nights.
FSN Ohio has Reds, BJ's and Cavs to contend with. Will be interesting to see what the schedule looks like with all three.
I gave the competing schedules a quick once over, and didn't see any conflicts that couldn't be moved to the alt channel, and those are just Reds, no CBJ or Cavs conflicts at all. I have enough faith in Mark McCullers to think that he wouldn't ink a TV deal where he knows his team gets the tape delay. But maybe I'm just not as jaded as some.
Quick look over 18 Reds conflicts and not including 3 Reds preseason games that would conflict in March. Could be ugly, hopefully an alternate HD channel.
Remember, there are two feeds of FS Ohio. One is the main feed from Cleveland, and the other is the sub-feed from Cincinnati. I'd imagine that most Ohio cable providers could put one game on an alternate channel. AT&T U-Verse (and I think both satellite providers) carry both FS Ohio feeds full-time. No conflicts with Cavs. Potential conflicts in bold. There could be other conflicts based on if Reds games go into extra innings or depending on the length of any Crew pregame show. Of course, every game should be live on Direct Kick. The list below does not include Crew games on national TV. March 10th: Crew game at 6 PM. CBJ game at 8 PM. March 31st: Crew game at 2 PM. I had the same thought about FSO's alternate feed. My question was more along the lines of whether or not Crew Xtra goes bye-bye and is replaced with a comparable show on the new network. Like Crew Live, or Crew Quick Kicks, or whatever. I don't know enough to say whether or not the other MLS teams that appear on Fox Sports have shows like that.
Don't the Cavs and CBJs have weekly shows? We could get both. Weekly shows PLUS the 30 minute pre-game show, live postgame press conferences, etc.
CBJ is the only questionable conflict. Reds would be dropped just like the Cavs are currently for the Jackets.
The CBJ have Blue Jackets Slap Shots. I assume the Cavs have one, I just don't know what it's called.
Crew xtra has been on sports time Ohio, the Indians network. That's how I watched it on directv. I guess this means no more beau bishop. Ahh... He cared so much. His prep work proved it.
What's weird about Beau is that talking to him in person he sounds like he know what he's talking about, but on tv he comes across as very fake. I gave the guy a lot more credit after talking to him a few times, the impression he gives on Crew Xtra is misleading.
He stated on an April version of Crew Xtra he didn't believe MLS would make it. That kinda sullied my impression of him going forward.
Being a Reds fan, I have noticed that the Indians usually got the main feed from FSOH and the Reds the alternate feed. Did the Indians move off the network?
