Will he keep those player who played 100 minutes or less this season or does he tend to cut the fat?

What about the 2012 recruits ? MK has always placed freshman on the team of starters if they earn their spot. If you know something about the recruits maybe you can share your thoughts.

Who are these initials? Do you think people are going to the roster to look it up? Its public info just type a few more characters...

What did you think of pulling the keeper?
More of a message to the starter or just trying to get another keeper minutes? Don't know anything about them but it was curious.

To be honest I simply was in a hurry, hence the reason I simplified names. Regarding next years incoming players I don't know much about them.

I don't know enough about the new recruits. Maybe some one else can fill us in?

I don't think there is anyway that Bakowska-Mathews (Marta) will start next year. To be honest, I will be surprised if she is still on the team. The staff gave her many opportunities early in the season and she did not perform at all. It was obvious that she was a pet project, it didn't pan out and there is no way another year of investment will be made in her.

If she can get fit (I mean A LOT fitter), Murakami may play. She is a very good technical player, but her lack of fitness, speed and stature hurts her. Also, she plays the same position as Brynjarsdottir, and based on the way she was handled this year, Dagny isn't going anywhere.

Before the Stanford game, I would have said there is absolutely no way Fields would be a starter next year, but she was amazing against Stanford. The best player on the field for the Noles and it really wasn't even close. It will be hard for the staff to find reasons to keep her off the field next year if she keeps playing like that.

I think you have the other starters right, but you forgot Casey Short. She will be back from injury and will be in the first eleven for sure. As always, there will be other internationals brought in to supplement the current crop of known recruits. Look for Carson Pickett and Rachel Price to be given ample opportunity to earn prominent roles.

Assuming Mark's 4-4-2 it should look like this

    GK Wys
D Jaurena, Brockway, Fr Price or Pickett, Kallman
MF Grubka, Short, Fields and Brynjarsdottir
    F McCarty and Price

This is my best guess with Fields subbing in at F. Mark doesn't sub for his D line, so current subs and others (Fr or foreign recruits) will fight for time in the midfield.

We will be decimated after next year, so it is 12 or nothing IMO.

In watching the Stanford Duke game I was impressed with Duke especially considering how young they are.

Stanford's connecting passes are the best and were the difference in the game.

Also Stanford does a much better job than FSU of getting numbers forward on offense.
With FSU I more often than not saw Tiff and 1 other player coming in against 4 or more defenders.

Pickett and Price should come in and make an impact on the team. The rest will be fighting for minutes.

After looking at all the resources listing FSU recruits. There are 3 defenders, 4 forwards and 1 midfielder. If Rachel Price has fully rehabed she will likely be a defender along with Pickett, although Pickett also plays left outside mid. Both have considerable experience against tough competition. On Picketts Region III team is also Nicole Fischer, and Kirsten. There is a huge amount of press about Fischer and Pickett . Fischer is a holding midfielder, the only midfielder on the FSU recruit list. I wonder if that means something. Then there is Scarpa, a defender from Lakeland who has made a local name for herself and can apparently be a very tough/physical defender.
Abnathy, Hart, Kirsten, and Hahn are all very good highly respected forwards. Pickett, Fischer and Kirsten all have Region III experience having just recently coming in 2nd place in Region III play this fall.

Now to look at this group seriously you can be sure that Coach Bell would only recruit those girls who can make a diffference for FSU. From the press and accolades that these recruits receive I can see lots of competition for starting positions. There will likely be a few foreign players invited to play.

How many players will be on the 2012 team ? 2011 had 25 players.

    Update:

Although Carson Pickett is listed as a defender she has rocket shot from 25-35 yards out. Her dad is a coach and assists coach MK in his summer camp. Rylee Hart who is listed as a forward and a very high scoring forward actually plays a lot of defense and is very capable to hold her own. Tori Abnathy is a forward with lightning fast speed with the ball. Tori makes things happen. She is a track star and will add a big threat against a good defense. Rachel Price has made a name for herself as a class act and a great defender. All Florida players know Rachel. Nicole Fischer is known for her superior leadership, soccer IQ, ball handling skills and accurate passing. Apparently she has a great verticle jump. She is currently listed on her H.S. team with the most goals, most headers and most assists. More to come as I research more about the recruits.
From what I have been able to research all the Florida girls have played against each other in State Cup, Tournaments and some on ODP and Region III play. Pickett has played for Creeks Clash, as a Captain and has played in the final 4 of State Cup coming in second twice. Fischer, as a Captain, has played for Florida Rush who won State Cup once came in second once and third or fourth twice. Fischer, Pickett and Kirsten play together now for Creeks Clash.
Creeks Clash placed second in Region III this past fall and was the dominant Florida team. Keep in mind that Region III is a good test in seeing the other girls who will be playing in the ACC in the upcoming years. The other teams coming from Georgia, North and South Carolina.
This is a good sign of what to expect in the future.

Can you please send me a link to the stats that indicate Ms. Fischer leads her high school team in "most headers"? These must be incredibly detailed stats! I think the people at CBS Sports should hire the stat keepers at Bishop Moore high school and fire the entire Gametracker staff!

Prior to joining Creeks Clash, Carson was playing up on the Ponte Vedra teams who had such notable players as Theresa Diederich (Alabama), Morgan Bryan (UVA), Kaili Torres (UVA), Annie Bobbitt (Florida), and Sarah Voigt (Notre Dame). That team was a finalist in the USYSA Nationals and won the R3PL title the next. They were also a fun team to watch.

St Johns Country Day School and Bishop Moore H.S were both very friendly while some others were not at all helpful and some felt bothered. I personally think that H.S. Stats mean very little. State Cup, Region III , ECNL, ODP are far more telling of a recruits ability against good competition. All the girls recruited are obviously FSU quality or they would not have been recruited.

Carson Pickett is an obvious winner wherever she plays.

Region III team is not always a measuring stick. JJ played RIII for all events and played a total of 35 minutes this season.

She is a forward from Panama City. She plays Club soccer on the Creeks Clash U-18 team. She is very fast with pretty good skills. If FSU has gone after her she must be good.

With Eric Bell accepting the Head Coach job at TCU Coach K will surely be searching for a top notch recruiter and defensive coach. Coach K is so well connected that I'm sure his phone is ringing off the hook with applicants.
There seems to be so many high level former head coaches that are available as well as a crop of emerging top assistants. The coaching staff at FSU has always been great at recruiting whether it be Florida girls all the way to international stars.

    Go Noles !!

Congrats to Eric Bell for getting a good head job.
TCU is a good job in state with a lot of soccer players.

    Good potential!

I'm sure Mark will do well with his hire!

Pickett has been part of the Krikorian Soccer Camps and very close to Coach K. He has been very successful with his Club coaching so he likely is a very good judge of talent and cultivating that talent. Some of his club kids will be going to FSU.

Thinking outside the box how about Faulconer at Armstrong. Believe he is a FSU alum.
