Kudos to Ange Postecoglou for getting a Bahraini international. That's an excellent bit of work. And that Albanian international too, he's making smart decisions it seems on limited resources.

The game between Victory and the Roar is shaping up to be a classic. It is not yet half an hour gone. It is tied at 2-2. Victory is down a man in the first minute. Thomas Broich hit a post. Roar outshot Victory 7-3.

much as I hate the scum, its a pretty good effort from them to tie the roar with only 9 men.

Brisbane are just about to break the record for the most unbeaten games in a row (36), leading Perth Glory 4-0 with 10 minutes to go.

    Record of what?

Didn't they break the record a few weeks back?

Nope. 35 games unbeaten was the record in Australian sport by Eastern Suburbs Roosters, now they have surpassed that & gone to 36.

Yeah, just looked it up. Supposedly the record for club level sport in Australia.
It's not actually the record but that would be a pretty pointless record anyway- given the different natures of different sports.

The record of the most games without loss by a football team in Australia is far more meaningful imo.

Well yeah, given the fact that there are alot more draws in football than rugby league. Though the Roosters record was set back in the 1930's when rl was still amateur & they were playing in a Sydney based comp. The fact that Brisbane have managed to go 36 games unbeaten in a professional national comp is pretty impressive. And a salary capped comp to boot.

Another reason why they can't be compared.

Hell, the Roosters record should count. If the amateur NSWRL of the 1930s counts, than the amateur VFA of the 1880s should also count.

But a 36 game unbeaten streak in a professional and national competition is far more impressive, than 40 unbeaten games in amateurs.

Congratulation to the Roar. The first goal against Perth Glory is one of the best goals of the season and is a typical Roar team goal.

The first goal was the most impressive in my opinion. Great lead up play. They were all pretty nice goals though.

The record of assistants stepping up to the managerial spot isn't a great one, will be interesting to see how Rado goes.

Aurelio Vidmar did OK. Other than Durakovic at victory, not too many others have had a chance have they?

Eh, I'm beginning to think a lot of that was Phil Stubbins - don't think it was a co-incidence that AUFC crashed when he left, and Vidmar's subsequent u23 tenure hasn't exactly challenged the hypothesis either.

I heard a rumour in Indonesia that Brisbane Roar interested in Andik Vermansyah. Is there a possibility that this kid will join Brisbane Roar??

    Hi,
I'm making my first trip to a Brisbane Roar game on 9th March - can you tell me whether matchday programmes / magazines are produced? And their cost?
    Thanks,
    Toby
