Needless to say, We have to win this.

    ---------------------Banguera------------------------
    Paredez----Morantez----------Erazo------------Walter

    Valencia-----Mendez----------Castillo----------Suarez

    --------------Chucho----------------------------------
    -----------------------------Yoya----------------------

I'm thinking Rueda will go with this, although I fear he just might use Saritama again :(

I think we have to play Montero. He did way more than Suarez did in his short time.
Paredes is not a defender guys.

Aside from Valencia and possibly Benitez I thought Arroyo was your best player. I have seen matches of San Luis de Potosi (where fellow peruvian Aguirre plays) and he always impressed me. Big relief he is not going to play tomorrow.

Dude, Rueda has been known to use him as a right side defender, probably his most consistently used Right defender tbh.

You might find some people disagreeing with you, personally, I Like Walter Ayovi specially in Quito where he always plays his best, his long shot is bad @$$ and he's a lefty.

wouldn't consider him one of the best, but he's certainly effective when he plays for the NT. Arroyo was a starter but Cristian Suarez took his spot after Copa America for the start of the Qualifiers. Arroyo is in the battle for a spot with Joao Rojas and Jefferson Montero. But out of the 4 players Suarez and Arroyo have a higher chance of scoring in a decisive game IMO.

Good line up but Rueda will problably go with Saritama unfortunately...I'm curious to see how we bounce back...Suarez and Valencia have to be on their game tomorrow...and J. Ayovi has to show more precision with his finishing.

Agreed, Overall, I dont think we played a bad game against Paraguay, we just need to break Peru's defense because they will come to pile up men in the back so I think Outside shots might be our ticket here, lucky for us theres 5-6 good shooters in this line up.

dude, as long as Saritama is not suspended and is healthy there will be no Edison Mendez or even Segundo Castillo starting any game. Castillo is lucky to start now that Noboa is suspended. Your line up is about 95% correct besides Mendez starting which unfortunately won't happen b/c Saritama is gonna start. Paredes might start simply b/c Achilier has a yellow and the next game we play is in Buenos Aires where Achilier will be a really important peice to the defense, Rueda is not gonna risk playing him tomorrow and if he does he's an idiot.

Anyway, even w/ Saritama's wack ass we should still be able to pull a win. Anything less then a win and OUT w/ Reinaldo. Still hasn't convinced me a bit.

I actually agree with this. If you asked me a few months ago, I thought Arroyo was our starting left-sided midfielder. However, Suarez has been on good form since the Copa America, and besides this last game against Paraguay he has fully earned his spot.

The other thing is that for some reason, Arroyo fell off the face of the earth. The last few games, he wasn't even on the bench for San Luis. He'd been a starter there for the last two seasons, so I'm not sure what he possibly did to deserve that, although my guess would be discipline problems.

I doubt it's discipline. I haven't heard any disciplinary issues with him for years now. Might have been an injury that we are unaware of or he's not in form. Anyways, after his first season in San Luis he already wanted to come back even though he's done good since he's been there. I remember hearing that he misses Ecuador and wasn't used to the mexican lifestyle but who knows. He needs to pick himself back up w/ his club team. He's the only player in Mexico that isn't shining as he usually has. I'd hate to see him lose himself b/c I think he's really important to our NT.

It's strange, I cant really say I follow San Luis' games religiously but I read their headlines and check Arroyo's playing time, he did lose his undisputed starting position, As luck would have it it occurred at same time Suarez really stepped up, I am happy with either one tbh, and Suarez does have a cooler temper, Arroyo gets yellow cards too often.
Anyway, I assume we all agree we are just waiting for Montero to become our primary left winger.

If anyone cares to answer, whatever happened to past Ecuadorian players that played in the Peruvian league: Kleber Chala, Augusto Poroso, Norberto Araujo and Gustavo Figueroa? Is Araujo truly nat team material when fit?

    Anyways good luck after tomorrow.

Kleber Chala - retired some time ago
Augusto Porozo - still at Macara right?? if not hes retired
Norberto Araujo -LDUQ and he played for us in Copa America.
El Potro Figueroa?I believe he is in Aucas at the moment which is his original team, he actually played a few games with the NT a few years back,

Well according to the Peruvian press this is what we are throwing out there.

Máximo Banguera; Gabriel Achillier, Eduardo Morante, Fricson Erazo, Luis Saritama; Walter Ayoví, Antonio Valencia, Segundo Castillo, Cristian Suárez; Jaime Ayoví y Christian Benítez.

No surprise, Saritama is starting >_<

I'm a bit annoyed with Montero. I feel like no matter what team he goes to in La Liga, he still hasn't consolidated himself. He's an awesome player with a bright future, but he's a bit selfish when playing. And his last touch in all his plays sometimes don't go through as expected whether it's a center or a shot. He hasn't fixed that problem yet. By now, I was thinking Montero WOULD be the starter but clearly Suarez and even Arroyo are more effective on the NT.

35 minutes and we are playing horribly IMO. Erazo is injured and it looks like either Diego Calderon or Morante are going to come in. We're screwed, losing Erazo is losing the leader of the defense. Saritama is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL and SCREW YOU RUEDA for starting him. Saritama needs to get the f*ck out and Montero needs to come in. Antonio needs to play in the middle w/ Castillo.

    we haven't created any danger

Saritama has to go ASAP...we need Mendez in there...apart from a couple of long range shots Benitez is not playing well, its obvious that he is not in rythm. We need to shore up the right flank as well. Rojas is playing well.

What happened to Erazo, I lost my stream for a couple minutes only to see that he had gotten injured

Morante is in for Erazo who got injured. Castillo is messing up, got Yellow carded. Rojas should have shot that one. The game is being played in the middle most of the time.
