Spain will take on England in a friendly match on 12 November at Wembley.

Del Bosque will announce the list of players for this match and the other friendly against Costa Rica in San Jose (15 Nov) on the 7th of November.

The team will arrive at Las Rozas for this call up on the 10th at 1030 hrs.

Thiago will not play for the A team as he was called up for the upcoming U-21 matches.

Aupa Espanha y La Furia Roja!

It will be a poor game as we are missing a lot of big players as per usual when we play friendlies..

    We will be without:
    Rooney
    Young
    Wilshere
    Gerrard
    Ferdinand
    Cleverley

Lots of big names you are missing.

Might be a good chance to bring in some younger players though. That's what I'm hoping Del Bosque does. We already know what xavi, iniesta, villa, etcetera can do. I'd like to see some others called up.

Yes, for our sakes I also hope you don't play Iniesta, Xavi and co! We will be playing youngsters most likely so It would be nice if they had some chance :)

I'm hoping that we will see Sturridge, Welbeck, Jones and Adam Johnson playing.

At least Monreal got called up again, it seems Capdevilla is off the radar, and him and Alba will be playing for the leftback position.

I don't understand why he doesn't call up that guy playing for Liverpool. He is supposed to be playing really well. Instead he calls up people who hardly get any playing time for their club. These are friendlies, look for some other options.

Ugh, it just seems he is hamstringing this team.

Ok, Del Bosque is really pissing me off. The whole Xabi Alonso ruining the tiki-taka midfield is already enough para tocarme los huevos but now not only that, he's calling up Monreal, un paquete del montón, a player who doesn't even start for mid-table team Málaga, over José Enrique, a player with more speed, strength and better defensive skills and who starts for Liverpool.

José Enrique is the first real quality left-back that Spain has seen for a few decades and he's not even considered for the team.

    Yo flipo

Enrique is going to have to get a look sooner or later otherwise I am going to have to wonder what he did to Del Bosque.

You would think that Del Bosque would look at more defenders since that is probably our biggest weakness, at least from a depth perspective.

Tiki taka is a fraud, and Xabi Alonso is one of the best middlefielders with spaniard nationality. Then I dont know why he cant play with Spain being one of the best spaniard players.Como minimo hay 10 paquetes peores que Xabi Alonso en todas las convocatorias españolas sin incluir a Fernando Torres, que ese esta en una categoria especial de paquete total. For me would be better if Xabi Alonso played with his real national team(basque team:D). He should be free from boring tikitaka lovers, who want to play with 11 Xavis including goalkeeper. I dont know the real level of Moreal or Alba, but they have to be very bad to be worse than Arbeloa playing in left back.

I don't understand the Xabi Alonso criticisms. He has awesome numbers for Spain. He also scores a lot of goals for the NT team given that he plays at the back of the midfield.

The only critique I see some people saying is that playing Xavi, Alonso, Busquets together is too defensive. The Euro cup team was more offensive because it only had Xavi and Senna in the middle of the park and an extra attacker.

The issue with Xabi is that there are too many players in there that have similar roles. I am struggling to find a game in which both Xabi and Xavi have played well. Busquets is in there because he will do the stuff Xabi can't do. Xabi always needs a defensive midfielder in there to help him, he can't do that role by himself. Really you cannot have Xavi and Xabi in the same team, it has never worked, at least hasn't worked well.

It isn't really surprising, they basically play the same position.

    Agreed.

    Fixed your ignorant post.
If you don't support Spain, what are you doing here? Trolling? Have you read the forum's name? GTFO of here, now and put an end to your xenophobic crap.

Utter bullshit. Alonso is twice the player Busquets will ever be. It is Busquets who should be dropped, if anything.

Anyway, for all I care let's not call Xabi anymore, I'm sure Real Madrid won't complain.

Completamente de acuerdo: eres un flipado.

    Re: CONFIRMED starting lineup

everyone run to the bookies and put your money on Spain to win at evens.. easiest bet you will ever win. Capello has fielded a shocking line up for this match and you should win by at least 2 or 3 goals

Alonso twice the player Busquets will ever be? Busquets is a pure defensive midfielder, Alonso is a centre midfielder with decent defensive skills, two very different players.

Alonso is amazing for Real Madrid and Liverpool because they suited his style and his long passes are quality. Busquets is amazing for Barcelona and Spain because he wins the ball back really well, makes excellent decisions and distributes the ball rapidly to start counter attacks.

Alonso's long balls for Spain just return to the midfield and end up being useless. On the other hand, his long balls for Real Madrid allow Ronaldo/Di María/whoever to make a great run and have an excellent scoring opportunity.

Again, Alonso is quality but his style no encaja in the Spain team.

Alonso is 10x Busquets as a CM, but Busquets is 100x Alonso as a DM.

No big surprises after 25 minutes 0-0 although Spain has had the better chances so far.

Well, if Alonso doesn't fitm then what should we make of Busquet after all those pathetic wrong passes today?

Alonso needs to be on the pitch for Spain. He's every bit as good a defender than Busquets and he brings things to the table that no other player on the team has, which means he can eventually unlock difficult games for us.

All balls to the midfield come back! That's the tiki-taka for you!

Wanna talk about a player that actually doesn't fit? Torres.

I dont mind that the english have fielded 11 goal keepers (who can blame them?). I just wish they just shut up about us playing "boring possession game".

Its virtually impossible to do much when everyone is just sitting infront of the goal.

In hindsight, this game is predictable in the way it is being played.
