The whole point here is that do you really want these clowns to run NYC2 Please gimme a Fing Break! Enough already!
But i dont know that the Wilpons would be Team owners - when Garber speaks - he does so in riddles man - How many times has he publically ejaculated over the land that the Wilpons have. That is where Garber wants the team. At the same time - these INVESTORS - sooner or later they have to come public - how can NO ONE in the press or what not not have any IDEA who they are.
You didn't have faith in George "the Stork" Theodore and our .217 hitting 3rd baseman Wayne Garrett?!?!??!
Take it easy. I don't want Wilpon as a controlling owner. I would say he doesn't like soccer, but in fact, he's so indifferent to it that he wouldn't waste the energy to hate the sport. But I'll tell you this much, I went to Red Bull Arena last night for the US game and frankly, I'm envious. Great stadium inside, nice walk from a nice Newark neighborhood... man. Truthfully, if they changed the Red Bull name, I'd be back, because I miss the domestic game so much. So whoever can deliver a decent stadium in a decent neighborhood and put 11 guys on the field wearing the same shirts, I'll be f-in happy.
http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/article.php?article_id=28750 I see nothing in here about the ownership problems, so this is another stall tactic by the Cosmos, please someone over there be upfront for christ sake!
Please point to where I said that I wanted the Wilpons in charge of "NYC2". Just correcting a false statement.
That's all want.. I really don't care what name they play as. NY Metropolitan SC, NY United, New York Empire or NY Cosmos.
I agree with this - im going to be there regardless but I now really want it to be the Cosmos - i think it would be a lot of fun for our group. LOL - who'd ******** with us at the MLS board meetings?
You don't? I do. He's making it very clear that they just want to glom their brand and front office team onto someone else's money.
yea - ya think Maybe the Old Trafford game wasnt the success they thought it would be - and thats why the other rumored games were cancelled. They were probably money grabs and the money wasnt what they thought - so they have to find a new source of more income. But yea - they have said financing is in place - so either they really dont and they lied or there is another issue in the Front Office
In other words they have been telling straight lies every time they said they had the financing in place.
If its not loading tomorrow at this time - you can speculate YES - for now it could be that the news has attracted a lot of interest and their server could have crashed.
He is a slippery MoFo old Don is, but our play by play guy is trying to get him on the radio on Monday and as is the case more often than not I'll be co-hosting. Cal is a big advocate of not just NYC2 but moreover the Cosmos brand as am I obviously (although both would just settle for NYC2 whatever name it has at this point) ... if he comes on we'll no doubt devote a fair chunk of our time to MLS expansion. I don't think he'll give much away, but I'll try and clarify at least the situation in terms of the Cosmos group vs others.
You should ask about Orlando and Minneapolis in specific, since those seem like the main two options following NYC2 for team 20.
