Hi guys Just heard about this forum and how friendly it was to North American footy fans! I've been a Barca fan since I was introduced to the sport in 1992. Stoichkov was my favorite player at that time and obviously, we've seen our club undergo changes in management, presidencies, and such. Looking forward to chatting about my favorite club with you all as well as footy in general.

Hello all. Long time reader and finally decided to register. Barcelona and Messi are very dear to my heart. Messi not necessarily my favorite player, but seeing his recovery from growth hormones is imspiring. My younger brother suffers from the same thing and am always rooting for Messi partly because of that. But as a defender my favorite player is definitely El Capitan. Carlos is the heart of FCB. I have taken many trips to Barcelona and there is nothing like Camp Nou. Great fans and great atmosphere. Visca Barca! Visca Catalunya!

Hi there. So ... I really needed to find a worldwide football community and this was just it. I'm a huge Barcelona-fan and have been that since 2003. When Ronaldinho arrived I was only 11 years old and at that point I didn't really care that much for any team in particular. So I started watching Barcelona's games because of Ronaldinho and the way Barcelona played just quickly grew on me. As I got older I realized that there were much more to the club than just football and the matches that are sent on TV, and I basically just fell in love with the club, the culture, the philosophy and the set up in Barcelona. In 2009 I finally got to go to Barcelona and I just instantly fell in love with the city. Everything, and I seriously mean everything, about Barcelona is just so compelling to me and I'm actually considering taking a year off from my studies to move down there. The first live game I watched was when Barcelona visited Aarhus here in Denmark back in 2006. My first match at Camp Nou was, as said, back in 2009 when they met Numancia in the league. It was an awesome game where that awesome trio of Messi, Eto'o and Henry just dominated. Two goals by Messi and one for each of Eto'o and Henry - it ended 4-1. The following season I went down there again and this time it was the a league match against Getafe. It wasn't quite as awesome as the game against Numancia, but just the fact that I was there, in Barcelona at Camp Nou, made every single second enjoyable. Messi and Xavi scored one each, but both Piqué and Márquez was sent off, the latter for conceding a penalty, which Soldado converted. In 2010/2011 I didn't go at all, but I did watch a live game though, when Barcelona played FC Copenhagen here in Denmark in the Champions League groupstage. It was a cold night and the match wasn't exactly a good one, but at least I got to see my heroes in action once again. I almost got to pat Juanjo Brau on the back, but I just missed when he was walking by. Then here in February I went to watch the game against Valencia and what a game. It was a horrible start with that early Piatti goal. But then ... yeah, you know the rest of it. 4 goals and total domination by Messi and then a nice little chip to end it off with by Xavi. And I guess that's my story when it comes down to Barcelona. I'm a complete football nerd and I basically spend every minute of my day, when I'm not at lectures or doing my homework that is, on football and particularly Barcelona. I'm a bit of a statistics addict and I'm currently working on a website, which will, among other things, have an all-time statistics table for every single player that has represented Barcelona in La Liga - complete with minutes, goals and yellow and red cards. Oh, and one last thing: If you're not already listening, then every single one of you should starting listening to The Guardian's podcast Football Weekly. They have some great guys in there from time to time like Jonathan Wilson, Raphael Honigstein and Michael Cox. (Damn, this post ended up being way to long ...)
