Since that incident with Roddick few years ago, he has become much more humble and more likable player. I dont mind him as much as I used to.
Go BEARS!!!! Had to turn down tickets (free!) to season opener today with 911 fly-over and the works due to my daughter's 1st club game. Hoping the owner sticks to his promise of bringing me back for another one. Urgh!
Where were you when the towers were hit? I had just gotten out of the shower after physical readiness training. I knew then and there that the nation was going to war, and that I would become a part of history. The same day I had began working on IPB products, Order of Battle products, and generating airfield assessments. Everyone immediately began orienting towards a war footing. Getting ready 'for the call'.
Tough to think about that day for me....it was just awful in every way and a terrible week or two following it.
I was in math class, when the vice principal walked in with tears on her face....she told us about what had happened, and and math teacher almost collapsed on the floor....my dad picked me up from school about one hour and 30 minutes later My dad on the other hand was right under the towers as the 1st plane hit....he still has the receipt of the coffee place he had walked out of....scariest moment of his life.... at first he did not know whether to go home or stay, he was just in utter shock...everyone around him was just looking up without any real panic.....when the second plane hit thats when everyone started running he ran and caught the nearest taxi and came to pick me up
Wow, my mom was working in Manhattan (Midtown) at the time. I was in California and had not seen the news. After three hours of trying she finally got through to me and I turned on the TV. I saw news coverage on ESPN. That's when I saw that something really bad had happened.
My dad sent me this the other day. Good piece, long but has lots of good stuff in there. Not everyones cup of tea though, but I recommend it. http://www.nationaljournal.com/magazine/after-9-11-america-s-decade-of-disaster-20110901
To put this into perspective, the WTC was the view out of my bedroom window for the 1st six years of my life living on Staten Island. On 9/11, I was sitting in a lounge/bar in an airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador getting ready to board a American Airlines' plane back to the US. I saw the whole thing happen from the sky lounges' TV. We boarded the plane right after the 2nd tower fell and de-boarded about 45 minutes later.

And refs totally blow this up. Speaking of UEFA&FIBA aren't always behing big countries and against the Balkan countries. Time was 2 seconds left after the foul... the ball then comes off of McCaleb and hits a russian player. OUR BALL! Referee awards them the ball!? Then they turn back the clock from 0.7 seconds left to 2.5. I have never seen time travel before. And the thought we are playing the hosts Lithuania in the quarters.
