Who do you think is a better player Neymar or Lucas Moura from Sao Paulo

and check out lucas moura goal the other day against Santos Fc, he scored a mad goal.

I think lucas moura can be the new Ronaldo for brazil because he is similar to ronaldo with great dribbling and he is solid with strength and is fast. and remember lucas moura and neymar are only 19 years old.

Neymar is like the new Ronaldinho he is very good on the wing with great dribbling skills, tricks and fast.

who do you think Neymar or Lucas, and who do you reckon will be the best at 2014 world cup :)

I think both players are great and will make a big impact in the soccer by 2014. I think Neymar is better and is also a much better finisher. IMHO, I believe Neymar will soon dethrone Messi in two to three years. Lucas is an awesome player and but, he has a tendency to dribble with his head down. He needs to keep his head up so he can have a better vision of the field. I don't think any one right now can be compared "O fenomeno" in his prime. Check out Ronaldo at 16 when he was playing for Cruzeiro. He was on his way to being the best ever before suffering all his major injuries which undoubtedly altered his game.

LOL! I know Messi is the real deal and it's going to be hard to dethrone him. I still think Neymar has a chance of doing just that provided that he does not suffer any major injuries. I think that he is going to dazzle La Liga with his spectacular moves and will help Madrid win a major title next year. Then, for the season 2013-14, he will become the best player in the world. LOL!

Nemay will only shine at RM if/when C. Ronaldo leaves.

I disagree. Ronaldo does not shine in big games and Neymar has the potential to do just that. Neymar is likely to contribute more to the team by getting other players involved and that is something that CR7 has not been able to do consistently for the past two years.

Messi is just good at dribbling thats it, he does jack crap for argentina because he hasnt got xavi, iniesta and the other players from barca behind him.

look at neymar he is going heaps good for brazil only at the age of 19.

and brazil dont have any really good central midfielders. so Neymar doesnt have people like xavi and iniesta behind him like messi does.... So he still rips players like messi does, but scores which messi does not do for argentina.

    Stats:

    Neymar (Brazil) 9 Games - 7 Goals
    Neymar (Brazil U20) 7 Games - 9 Goals

    Messi (argentina) 62 games - 16 goals

Neymar scores like one goal every game or 2nd for brazil.

and they both play same position, on the wing. so Neymar is a better scorer for his national team them messi. :)

Yes hes just good at dribbling, of course. Thats why he had 53 goals and 24 assists last season. If anyone is overrated its your "super prodigy new pele" Neymar.

38 appereances 15 goals and 9 assists this season huh.

Messi has 14 goals and 10 assists in 11 appereances already lol, looks like 4 times better stats to me, in europe too not south america where its easyer to score.

and LOL at comparing NT stats and completely leaving out assists which Messi has 20+, LOLOLOL also at comparing someone with 9 matches to someone with 60+
So according to you if someone has 1 appearance for their NT and scores 3 goals hes better than Neymar? trololololol.

Messi is a genius for Barcelona. Without him Barca is not nearly as good.

However, what i will argue is that Messi with the Argentina jersey is completely different from the Messi playing for Barca. He has underachieved for several years now and not winning the Copa America in Argentinean soil just shows that he can’t get the job done for his nation. This is just an observation.

Guys, unless I am missing something but, I don't think anyone is suggesting that Neymar is better than Messi right now. I like Neymar and I think he has the potential to be just as good as Messi and MAYBE a little better but, only time will tell. I hope that he won't suffer any major injuries like R9 did. Right now, Messi is the king but, Neymar is lurking behind him and maybe in the not too distant future, he will surprise Messi.
Anyway, with respect to the topic of this threat, I'll say it again that Neymar is better than Lucas. However, Lucas has the potential to explode as well in the near future.

so hes supposed to do it all by himself on a team that really doesnt play well together. and they dont play well together cause they have had shitty coaches with even shittier ideas the last few years. and dont say Maradona won a WC on his own, cause he had a great supporting cast. until Argentina finds a good coach the WHOLE team will keep underperforming

The argument you made can be turned around:

Messi isn't doing it all by himself at Barca. He plays on a team that plays extremely well together. They play well together because they have a superb coach with an even better concept. And don't say Messi won all those titles by himself, cause he had the best supporting cast in world club history playing in the most lopsided league in Europe. Until Messi does the same with another team and a different coach HIS WHOLE legacy is overrated.

but thats the thing, he has underperformed in argentina and he was STILL good, sooooo i dont see what you're getting at. He doesnt have to prove anything to anyone on any other team, he can stay in Barcelona his whole career and still be considered the best, ask Pele (no, i dont think Pele was the best)

Ask the Argentinien fans what they think about Messi playing for their country? You'll hear mix feelings. Argentina struggled to qualify for the 2010 WC. Messi was there when they lost 5-0 to Bolivia and 3-1 to Brazil. Argentina performed below par in 06 & 10. Argentina hasn’t won a major title since 93. Messi hasn’t wont anything in the senior level and therefore he has underachieved for them. An Argentinean fan doesn't really care what he does for Barca. These are just facts buddy!

As for you Pele comment, who do you think was the best than?

Pele had confirmed that until Messi would win 3 WC's and scored 1000goals career then he will consider his greatness as the greatest ... LOL

Messi will never be the greatest, he will be one of the greatest. but not the best ever.

if anyone is better then Pele, then its Brazil Ronaldo 9.

Ronaldo won 2 world cups, He is the highest world cup goal scorer. also won fifa player of the year 3 times.

Brazil Ronaldo scored 8 goals just in 2002 world cup... and spain whole national team scored 8 goals in 2010 world cup. proves that Ronaldo 9 is the world cup legend.

Messi is the best player in the world, but im trying to say that Neymar is better for his national team. but still Neymar has potential to become the best in a few years.

Neymar is one of the best dribblers in the world, ive watched every single game he has played for brazil national team since late 2010, thats when he first played. so know one here can really tell me how neymar plays. and i also watched Messi play today for argentina and i watched every game he played at 2010 world cup.... so to me Neymar plays better.

Messi is still the best player, but dont think for long. :)

Messi is the best player right now but, if anyone can dethrone him, it's Neymar. It might happen in 2014. Both players are great dribblers. Messi is a no nonsense dribbler and Neymar is an entertaining dribbler who likes to humiliate defenders and that may get him seriously hurt one day. I have seen a tape of Neymar giving a "sombrero" to the referee. LOL! If he can put on a dozen pounds by next year, he will be scary!
It's a joy watching Messi play. My favorite player of all time is pre-injury Ronaldo "O fenomeno". I am not sure Messi is better even though I think he is great. People forget how good was Ronaldo was at 16. He played for Brazil in the qualifiers at that age and made the world cup at 17!!!

As for Messi not scoring in world cups, I think he has the potential to explode in the next world cup and set a new record. Messi is a phenomenon.

Ye true, but i dont think Messi will beat Brazilian Ronaldo's record for the world cup.

and Neymar could of played in 2010 world cup, Pele and Romario urged dunga the old brazil coach to take him, but Dunga didnt put him in because he said Neymar is not experienced enough, which is true but still he would of went alright.

if Dunga done these 4 things, then Brazil would of made if to the final in 2010 World Cup
    1. Took Ronaldinho to 2010 WC, and put him in Felipe Melo position.
    2. Took Neymar to 2010 WC.
    3. Play Thiago Silva instead of juan, Because Juan was too slow, but still alright
    4. and put on Pato for Luis Fabiano in games, like in 2nd half swap them.

Or if they played this team Brazil could of won

    Neymar - Fabiano/Pato - Robinho
    Ronaldinho - Ramires - Kaka
    Maicon - Thiago - Lucio - D.Alves
    ------- Julio Cesar--------

Hopefully they win 2014 world cup anyway, i think Neymar will take them to the final and win it.

Brazil just did not have the depth last year to have won the world cup. I am not so sure Ronaldinho would have made a difference. In 2006, Ronaldinho was the best player in the world. In fact, he was so good that in an interview right before the world cup, Maradonna said if there is one player who is better than him, it's Ronaldinho. What did he do in the world cup? He didn't just have a bad world cup, he was simply pathetic. Two years later in the olympics, he was a big disappointment as well. I do not fault Dunga for not haven taken him although, I agree that he had played well that year for AC Milan. Brazil was lacking a creative midfielder and instead of testing more players like the young Ganso, Dunga settled for an injured Kaka who should not have played at all in the world because he was so hurt that he ended up having surgery right after the world cup. Maybe, he should have taken Neymar and Ganso but, those two had not been playing with the national team and I am not sure the chemistry would have been built in such a short period of time.

As for Messi breaking O Fenomeno's record, I agree that it is unlikely but, he has the potential to do it. Messi scored 53 goals and had 24 assists just for his club team. If he explodes in the world cup, he will make a very big impact and he will still have 2 more world cups. In 2018, he will still be at his best.

The key to Brazil's success is to keep playing Neymar, Damiao, Lucas and Kaka from now until the world cup so they can gain confidence and establish a chemistry. Maybe, if Ganso can remain healthy, he can get enough playing time to contribute to the team.

If I were to pick a starting line-up team for Brazil today, I'd probably go with the following:

    Neymar
    Damiao
    Kaka
    Lucas
    Ramirez
    Lucas Leiva
    Thiago Silva
David Luiz (Needs a lot of playing to become confident)
Marcelo (Defensive liability but offensive boost)
Maicon (Definitely a better defender and more accurate crosser than Dani Alves)
    Julio Cesar

The players in danger of losing their spots in the starting line-up are:
Ramirez - Inconsistent at times but, has a lot of stamina.
David Luiz - Not a solid defender right now and needs a lot of playing time to become a good replacement for Lucio.
Marcelo - Adriano is a very disciplined defender for Barcelona and also the new kid Bruno Cortes is very impressive.
