Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Seems to be a better fit for Chivas than Adu considering Chivas's scoring "problems".
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Nah, I wouldn't be shocked if Chivas USA passes on him just like everyone else they passed up. I'd say at this point Adu is probably the better player, and they passed on Adu.
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Would they pick him up now that they supposedly have JP Angel's salary on board?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Updated allocation rankings - wvhooligan.com Interesting. The top 4 teams in the rankings have all recently picked up high-salary players (Chivas: Angel; Houston: Costly; TFC: 2DP's, Chicago: Pardo). Who can afford the salary cap hit?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS How long till he is actually allocated (or, I suppose, claimed is a better term since the team has to agree to take him)?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS I was shocked to see Eddie was only 27. I guess I expected him to be 31 or 32. It feels like he has been around forever.
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Do Canadian national team players returning from overseas get put into the same allocation process or are they free to sign with whichever club wants them?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS While he wouldn't be my first choice, at this point I'd take him. Although I'm thinking Seattle might hold out for Marcus Hahnemann. I'm just curious about the hypothetical chain reaction this could set off: LA sign 4th DP Keane with intent of trading JPA to, according to rumors, Chivas. Chivas, unexpectedly, get Eddie Johnson thereby no longer needing JPA. LA is stuck with JPA. What then of Keane, who LA cannot officially take on board until they get rid of a DP?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Hold out for Hahnemann? The transfer period is over so unless he signed and they haven't announced it yet, the transfer order gets reset at the end of the season. Next year would be a whole new order so why wait, if that is their only issue?
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS Regarding Hahnemann, he is a free agent (out of contract), so the window is irrelevant. He is a Cascadia guy, and still has some years left in him. He might well be worth holding our for from Seattle's perspective. Regarding EJ falling, I'd have to see the cap situations for all the teams that recently acquired players (Chivas (JPA), Houston (Costly), TFC (2 DPS), Fire (Pardo)), but in season DP's only count 167k against the cap. I do think him falling to Seattle (or even Columbus) is a possibility if the other teams are cash strapped. SKC is next, and they have some very good youngish EJ types (Sapong, Kamara, Bunbury) and a DP up top already.

Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS He never had lead feet, only a lead heart and arguably the laziest player I ever saw. On the few occasions he honored us with a sprint, he was quite fleet of foot.
Re: Eddie Johnson to MLS He signed with MLS when he was 17, so he has sort of been around forever. He may not have panned out like we all hoped after his mini burst into the national team, but even with his deficiencies he is still 10-15 goal/year scorer in this league.
