Pretty sure they were fans lol. I'm not sayin people shouldn't get good and loose before the game, I do if I can get there in time to have a few, just not sure why anyone would choose an overcrowded bar with sticky floors and dudes falling off their stools instead of a kickass outdoor patio with cheap beers.
DC Fan here, I come in peace! My girlfriend is from jersey and we are going to the game tonight. I got her (us) the nice $65 premium seats and the whole 9 yards so I'm all excited for the game. My question is this: my barra buddies are coming up on a bus and pregaming at O'donnells Pub. What are my options (the garage by the train station, street parking, anything else??) and what is the best option if I plan to arrive at the pub around 3:30-4:00 and will be driving in from Queens? I know we can walk to the stadium (about a 10 minute walk) from the pub. Taking the train is not an option, I must drive. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much!
Can't speak to the Harrison side of the Arena, but from what I understand parking (and driving in and out of the area) is an absolute nightmare over there. I'd suggest you and your friends meet at another bar on the other side of the bridge (raymond blvd and market st.) and walk over from there (15 min. walk). There is tons of parking on the street and in lots. Just be careful at a few of the supporters bars. Some of those guys can get angry drunk if you're wearing a DC jersey.
I've mostly taken the train or parked in Newark so someone with more experience with parking in Harrison can chime in, but go with a paid lot as you actually can't park on the street on game days in Harrison anymore. That's early enough where parking shouldn't be too bad. I was in the garage by the train station once and it was OK; I haven't gone in any of the other lots to be able to recommend those. Good luck with the pregame and none for the game
thank you both! i decided to change my plans a bit (actually, they got changed for me) if anybody is looking for a ticket, i have on in section 108p, row 11 for $65 (less than what i paid for it) for sale... send me a pm
Hi guys! First; sorry for my bad english, i'm from Italy! Second i need help: I'll be in NY from around 12 August till 20 and i absolutely want to go to RedBull Arena to see Ny Red Bulls match against Chicago Fire on satuarday 13 August. My question is about tickets: where can i buy it? we are 3 friends, is it possible to buy directly at the stadium maybe the day before the match? If i buy online i'm not sure that the tickets will be delivered here in Italy in time (sometimes it takes 20-30 days form Usa) Maybe any trusted site with kind of "digital" delivery? Any help will be greatly appreciated, i'm a big Mls fan and it will be great to see a NY match! i can't miss it! Thanks in advance!
You can almost certainly get tickets the day before or of the match, but if you want to be certain, you can order in advance and they will e-mail the tickets to you so you can print them at home.
I am 99% certain you will be able to walk up and buy tickets on game day. The odds of you attending a sellout are very VERY slim. That being said you can go to their website (or call) and order tickets which they can email to you. Curious, how are you an MLS fan?
which website? directly the Redbulls one? is there digital ticket delivery? I started to follow and root for the Usmnt back in 2002 in Japan/Korea WC (Coby Jones, Sanneh, Donovan, Mathis). Since then i've lost "contact" with U.s. soccer, but again, with improvement from internet sources, i followed all WC 2006 in Germany via streaming and started to follow also MLS. I was one of the first subscribers at the old Hunt Parker Insider site now American Soccer Archives, that is very helpful for watching games, same as Maxxed forum. Yesterday for example, i watched live Portland Vs Seattle (in Italy was 10pm. so not too late) I have a NY Redbull jersey with name & number of one of my favourite players: TONY MEOLA (i'm a goalie) 2 months ago i've ordered a genuine low cost jersey via E-bay and number & letters directly to Uni-sport so now i have a Rapids Conor Casey jersey! I don't know exactly why, was love at first sight. So, i'll be just there in one months, can't miss a match really "Live"!!! Anyway thanks guys for your help!
Here is the link to buy tickets http://www.newyorkredbulls.com/tickets If that doesn't work for you for whatever reason you can call them directly at 1.877.72762237. And yes, they can email you the tickets. So I take it you're an American living in Italy?
Great drive in, park and drive out Saturday, we drove in instead of taking the train. It was waaaaaaay easier plus with parking a bargain at $10, it was actually significantly less in cost than coming in by Metro North and PATH. The key is getting there early and hanging a bit after the match to avoid the rush out. If you are allotting time for a great meal on Ferry Street, you should get there at 2:30p or so. You get to park outside of the old factory (i.e next to the exit to the street), have time for a leisurely walk, a non rushed dinner, a leisurely walk back and easy entry into the stadium for a nice walk around and seating well before kickoff. Of course, all that walking helps burn off the carbs and alcohol from the sumptious dinner (well OK, maybe only a small part of it ;->) After the match, sit a bit somewhere and people watch and before you know it the traffic has died down on Rodgers Blvd and you get right out by the aforementioned exit (as the factory is still jammed getting out), right onto I280W, and (the best part of all) a couple of exits up 280 to Rutt's Hut for a ripper or two. No stress, no fuss, just a great evening at a wonderful venue with the best fans in the tri-state area No more PATH for us
I think the biggest problem is when you order things like burgers that take time. Beers were easy for me to get as was pork sandwich.

Re: Great drive in, park and drive out wasn't sure where to ask this, so i figured put it in this thread. i'm going to be visiting at the end of the month for the galaxy game, and was wondering if there's a team shop at the stadium. also if they keep a fair amount of henry jerseys in stock (size medium if that matters). thanks.
Re: Great drive in, park and drive out Yes there is and I would suppose there will be plenty of Henry jerseys
Re: Great drive in, park and drive out sweet, thanks for the info. been a lifelong henry fan, and finally get to see him play in person (hopefully).
Stupidly decided to get a french fry cup at the half. Went to the members-only line on the second level. Line took forever of course. Got to the front, put my members card on the reader, and the person taking orders was clueless. IN THE MEMBERS-ONLY LINE. Well, at least they're at the same level of the rest of the club.
Honestly if you read RB boards and you still think its a good idea to try the concessions during a game I have no sympathy for you.
I went to Iberia Peninsula for the first time last night after the game and agree with the reviews. I had the Seafood Combo in Garlic Sauce for $22 and the portions were good. Service was fine. At close to midnight, there were still a lot of folks eating/drinking outside underneath the umbrellas. Plenty of TV's as they had both the Mexico/Columbia Under 20 World Cup game game and the Giants/Panthers preseason games on. Definitely recommend for those who heard of it, but have not yet had the chance to drop by.
From an out-of-towner visiting NYC the weekend of the Galaxy game: Unfortunately, I waited too long to buy tickets and prices have really skyrocketed on StubHub ($50 minimum, plus fees). Can anyone tell me what the scalping situation outside the arena is likely to be for this match? Really appreciate any tips people might have. Looking forward to checking out your stadium.
There are almost always guys right outside the Harrison PATH station selling tickets, but I have no idea how much they ask or if they are legit tickets.
