Dongguk University vs Yonsei University in some U-league cup final. EDIT: the cup is called 2011 National Autumn College Football Cup.

Nam Seung Woo and Jang Hyun Soo would have been playing for Yonsei if it wasnt for the U-20 NT.

Interesting how Korea Univeristy isnt in the final. Wanted to see "the Henry" Park Hee Song and Ahn Jin Bum.

Yonsei University's goalkeeper is Park Chong Hyo. Im keeping my eyes on you.

Actually, there are four players that play with Yonsei University that are currently with U-20 NT:
Nam Seung Woo, Jang Hyun Soo, Baek Sung Dong and Hwang Eui Jo.

Just when I said Im keeping my eyes on the Yonsei goalie, he made the error that costed the team its title.
It seemed that Park Chong Hyo was able to get the ball crossed in by Dongguk's Choi Sung Min but made a mistake and Choo Pyong Gang of Dongguk tapped in the winning goal.
Dongguk 1-0 Yonsei, and that means, Dongguk University have won the cup for its second consecutive time.

Seo Myung Won:


Seo Myung Won (16) of "Shinpyung High School" has 10 goals and is second in goal ranking (in the Highschool league).
In 2008, he won the Cha Bum Keun Football award, and played with Portsmouth's youth team in 2009.
The manager of Shinpyung Highschool team praised him by saying "Seo is one of those strikers that would come in 100 years time."
Seo Myung Won is 182cm and has the ability to burst powerful speed and add that, he has the instincts to score goals naturally (like a true striker).
He is similar to Ji Dong Won, in which he has the flexibility to use his body and the ability to showcase a talent in shooting.
In September, he will be joinging the Fulham Youth team.

If he plans on staying at Fulham for a while, wouldn't he not be able to play for the first team straight out of the youth setup b/c of work permit issues?

im not too sure on this issue, but since he's 16 and stays in the Fulham youth system for X amount of years, won't he be issued a work permit?

On the subject of Fulham, when Seo Myung Won goes there he wont feel too lonely. We have a young Korean goalie in the name of Tae Yoon there (in the Fulham youth).

그는 올 시즌 '2011 SBS 고교클럽(U-18) 챌린지리그'에서 18경기에 출전해 13골을 터뜨리며 득점왕에 올랐다. 체구는 작지만, 탁월한 개인기와 폭발적인 스피드를 활용한 공간 침투 등은 타의 추종을 불허한다. 그를 지도하고 있는 포항 U-18팀의 이창원 감독도 "빠르고, 공간침투능력과 투쟁력, 득점력을 다 갖췄다. 무엇보다 항상 100%를 다하려고 노력하는 성실한 자세가 강점"이라고 칭찬했다.

Good player, but not sure how his game will translate in the pro's. Uses a lot of speed and strength, but there will be a ton of players who are stronger and faster than him in the big league. Also, he's playing with some great players in Pohang's U18 team--such as Moon Changjin who i feel has bigger potential--which could have inflated his abilities. All in all, I would sum him up to be a more clinical version of Lee Jongho. If he turns out well, he can be the next Lee Keunho. He should aim higher though.

As for the 왕중왕전, I think it will be a fight between six clubs: Pohang [포항제철고], Jeonbuk [영생고], Suwon [매탄고], Jeju [서귀포고], 보인고, and 부경고. 부경고 is the defending champion. Jeonbuk and Suwon face off one another on Sunday morning in the second round.

1. 보인고 [25 votes]
2. 수원공고 [22 votes]
3. Jeonbuk / 영생고 [19 votes]
4. Pohang / 포항제철고 [15 votes]
5a. Ulsan / 현대고 [10 votes]
5b. Suwon / 매탄고 [10 votes]
5c. 부경고 [10 votes]

I think one thing 수원공고 has got it going for them is that no one in their team was included in the U18 national squad which will be participating in the qualifying for next year's U19 AFC Championship held later this month. This isn't something I took consideration when I was picking my favourites, but surely, it will give a lot of teams a fair share of chance to win as the very top teams have each lost their one or more of their key players.

A lot of these matches will be available live on kfatv.com. If you are not heading out this weekend, I suggest you take a peak. The quality of football displayed will amaze you.

Jeonbuk and Pohang out in the first round. Really disappointed with Pohang. Jeonbuk lost a couple of players to the national team but Pohang had all but one of their core.

Second round over. Suwon is through along with the favourites 수원공고 and 보인고. 부경고 got out-done by Ulsan so they are eliminated. My darkhorse pick Jeju is through with a win on penalties. Third round to be played on Wednesday. Ulsan and 보인고 go head-to-head.

Suwon out. Ulsan got past 보인고 to the quarters. Jeju and 수원공고 are also through.
