Unbelievable [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waacof2saZw&feature=related"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waacof2saZw&feature=related[/ame]
You guys still have the budda statues over there? http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1484897/index.html Klinsmann: We will build a US style
Considering we have some Barca fans in this thread - how is Cesc going to fit in? Super sub until Xavi gets too old? 4-3-3 with no target man? ----------Messi Iniesta-----------Sanchez ---Fabregas----Xavi ---------Busquets Abidal-Pique---Puyol-Alves ----------Valdes They would have to pass the ball into the net - but they are capable of just such.
Eventually I can see a Busquets-Thiago-Fabregas midfield similar to what Busquets-Xavi-Iniesta do. Either way, if they get him now they'll have a shitload of options which of course sucks for everyone else.
I see Xavi still doing like 3 years more and Iniesta is 3yrs older than Fabregas that means he can ball till he is 33, while Fabregas is 30
Fabregas signing itself has to be one of the most pointless signings I've ever seen if they get him. Iniesta is very meh as a LW and I see no reason to drop Pedro and Villa as DieRotten wrote, that would be madness to say the least. Thiago looks to be one of the most promising CMs in the world and yet his development would get cut down in pieces with Fabregas joining the team. In other words a pointless obsession.
A lot is made about how similar Fabregas and Thiago are but they really aren't and can function together, if not for their playing styles, then for their understanding of the system, as well as the system itself which works to each player's strengths without sacrificing collective functionality. I ultimately see them reverting to a three man backline. Xavi can easily play three to four more years but with his age and the eventual integration of a system that doesn't rely so much on him and Iniesta's continuing injuries, as well as Keita's age it's not irrational to have such great options, especially if they want to continue being successful instead of investing in transitional seasons. -----------------Messi ----Villa/Sanchez-----Pedro/Sanchez Adriano----------------------------Alves -----Iniesta/Fabregas---Xavi/Thiago ---------------Mascherano -----Puyol/CB----Busquets---Pique ------------------GK
It would be fantastic. If UEFA and FIFA allow them to field 12 players. Not just run around like they have 12. They would actually play with 12. Genius. Now I see why they are getting him
Uhh yeah they really are, both obvious CMs but good lucking seeing that formation with only 3 defenders as their main formation in the future
Innovative eh? remove Mascherano then I suppose. That formation wouldn't need him anyway I think. They've been toying with a similar shape for a while now and in order to not remain stagnant and at the same time continue any kind of successful run I wouldn't be surprised to see this. I also think the three-man backline will make a comeback in the next four to five years, slowly but almost surely.
Why don't you just remove the last 3 defenders as well and buy some more wingers and attacking midfielders Manchester? I'm sure it works well in your fantasy FIFA 2011 team.
I think they would alternate. Pep has revealed one of their weaknesses is their small squad size relative to who they have as core players and who they are developing. I think Affelay might be content to be a squad player for a while but they can always also play with a 4-3-3 with Cesc in an advanced position like he plays for Spain and Iniesta or Xavi behind or even one of the latter two and Mascherano. There are endless possibilities because these players are so flexible and fit the philosophy so well. As Xavi is aging they have to start preparing for his departure before he hangs up his boots so with that in mind it can look like this: -----------Fabregas ----Iniesta---------Mascherano or --------------Thiago ----Maschcerano----Cesc don't think they would lose a beat really for the above reasons or with the 3-2-2-3 Adriano--------------------Alves --------Iniesta-----Cesc to close out matches ------------Cesc -----------------Mascherano Adriano----------------------------Alves
This. Teams/coaches will eventually find a way to counter the Barca system, its not unbeatable, nothing is. Systems will eventually be broken down, they dont win for ever. Barca are no different from Real of the 60s, Bayern of the 70s, Milan of the late 80s early 90s.....Players will get older, systems will become obsolete, competition becomes stronger...etc
Yea that's inevitable. Even Guardiola said that sometimes teams tire of their managers and vice versa. I don't think anyone expects them to dominate the decade.
Khedia and Oezil(great goals) for Real Madrid, my brother( A real fan) watched this friendly and said Oezil and Khedira are in phenomenal form and Oezil has improved phisically. Мesut wearing number 10 jersey!!!
