Why can't you stand Dutt, if I may ask?

That was pretty high quality for a summer friendly.

I don't see him as a pleasant person that's all. Some guys you like and some you don't like because you don't see them as likeable. Doens't have to be a specific and huge logical reason so jocamryn is totally wrong with his assumptions. Vidal and Vizekusen are very amusing and not reason to be angry or whatsoever

All clear then. I personally find him to be a likeable/sympathetic person but I don't have any logical logical reason for it either. Funny tho that I'm still not used to the idea of him being the coach at Leverkusen and I think he's going to fail there quite miserably.

Hoffenheim struggling mightily against a 6th division team. 1-1 with 6 minutes to go.

The cup has his own laws and for one game anyone can beat anyone. Of course of the length of a season the depth and quality of a squad shows. But for one day anything is possible.

That is why I can only role my eyes at the Bayern arrogance here on the board from time to time.

Would not surprise me if it's a tough game for us tomorrow.

    Naturally.

I'm interested to see how much Cleverley will be used this season by Fergie. He praised Tom quite a bit in the post-match press conference.

Cleverly will be interesting should they not purchase any midfielders but it's Welbeck who impressed the most. He's slightly different but I always compared him to Mueller in terms of his style of play and unpredictability. It's his pace though and ability to make things happen when at said pace that are unique. Him and Rooney have had the best pre-season and I predict Rooney will have a wonderful individual season and so will Welbeck should he play regularly.

    Definitely.

Yeah for sure, if Sneijder or someone else is bought than I would hope he gets loaned again.

Welbeck's good pre-season has come to no surprise to me (I'm not saying I was surprised by Cleverley by this.) He had a decent start at his loan to Preston in Jan 09 before he got injured after only a month or so and was really impressive the first half of this past season at Sunderland before getting injured twice in the second half of the year. And who could forget his first goal senior goal for United against Stoke in 08 before both of those loans.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N58TXFPDhZ4&feature=channel_video_title"]‪Welbeck's first goal for Man United!‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]

With Berbatov being out of favour, Owen a non-factor despite his solid performances this pre-season, and Hernandez missing the first month or so with a concussion he should have a chance to shine hopefully.

Considering Pastore signing for PSG I thought I'd try to throw together a lineup for them to see how they'd stack up.

    -----------------Sirigu
    Jallet----Sakho---------Armand----Tiene
    ---------Matuidi--------Bodmer
    Menez-----------Pastore-----------Nene
    -----------------Gameiro

Bench notables - Sissoko, Hoarau, Douchez(GK), Bisevac, Chantome

    So let's see. Pastore 43m, Gameiro 11m, Matuidi 10m, Menez 8m, Sissoko 7m, Bisevac 3.5m, Sirigu 3.5m

    =

€86,000,000 for a team that MIGHT win Ligue 1 - and they still have a fullback weakness.

These sugar daddy teams are ridiculous...

WTF... this is the Russian who is at Chelsea? Right?

and Bayern didn't pursue this option? He would have allowed Lahm to stay on the right.

Do I have my "jerk-offs'...erm, sorry.... Zhirkov's wrong?

I think most see him more as a LM than a LB. Good going forward (used to be) neh going back. Don't know if he is what he used to be.

True, but that would be asking a lot of our FO:p

Like you holding out to loan/sell Breno and get another CB, RM, LM, etc...:D

Spain are U-19 European Champions. They don't get enough credit for their resolve and will to win, it's just incredible. 6 out of the last 10 finals, 5th title. Simply incredible.
