Are you suffering World Cup qualification withdrawal? Can't plan your life without knowing when the games are on? Well, you've got problems. But, the South Americans are trying to help, by ratifying the draw for the next qualifiers. The draw is the same are 2006 and 2002 and 1998 except Brazil isn't in there. The list below has two sets of dates. The first follows the press release exactly, and uses ALL the FIFA double dates, including 2 set in each of June 2012 and 2013 - four matches in two weeks, it's effectively a World Cup schedule EVERY FREAKING OFF SEASON (sorry boys, no holidays until 2015!) - that means they finish in June 2013 (press release says July, but close enough). The second set of dates (in brackets) assumes they don't double-up each June and hence finish at the same time as last time around (October) which allows for an necessary play-offs against other confeds. BTW, earlier press releases noted that the CSF thinks the spots for 2014 should be the same as 2010, with the obvious exception that they get the host spot instead of Africa. Anyway, that's enough blither-blather. Here's the draw (dates may vary a day each side I suppose) - only 317 days to go!!!!! Oh, and you can check out http://www.conmebol.com/conmebol/mainMedia.html?id=17544&viewpage='full' and then tell me I don't speak Spanish, which is obvious enough 7 October 2011 (7 October 2011) Uruguay v Bolivia Argentina v Chile Ecuador v Venezuela Peru v Paraguay 11 October 2011 (11 October 2011) Venezuela v Argentina Bolivia v Colombia Chile v Peru Paraguay v Uruguay 11 November 2011 (11 November 2011) Argentina v Bolivia Colombia v Venezuela Paraguay v Ecuador Uruguay v Chile 15 November 2011 (15 November 2011) Venezuela v Bolivia Colombia v Argentina Ecuador v Peru Chile v Paraguay 1 June 2012 (June 2012)) Uruguay v Venezuela Peru v Colombia Argentina v Ecuador Bolivia v Chile 5 June 2012 (June 2012)) Uruguay v Peru Bolivia v Paraguay Ecuador v Colombia Venezuela v Chile 8 June 2012 (7 September 2012) Argentina v Paraguay Ecuador v Bolivia Colombia v Uruguay Peru v Venezuela 12 June 2012 (11 September 2012) Paraguay v Venezuela Uruguay v Ecuador Chile v Colombia Peru v Argentina 7 September 2012 (12 October 2012) Bolivia v Peru Argentina v Uruguay Colombia v Paraguay Ecuador v Chile 11 September 2012 (16 October 2012) Bolivia v Uruguay Paraguay v Peru Chile v Argentina Venezuela v Ecuador 12 October 2012 (22 March 2013) Uruguay v Paraguay Argentina v Venezuela Colombia v Bolivia Peru v Chile 16 October 2012 (26 March 2013) Venezuela v Colombia Bolivia v Argentina Ecuador v Paraguay Chile v Uruguay 22 March 2013 (June 2013)) Bolivia v Venezuela Argentina v Colombia Paraguay v Chile Peru v Ecuador 26 March 2013 (June 2013)) Ecuador v Argentina Colombia v Peru Chile v Bolivia Venezuela v Uruguay 7 June 2013 (6 September 2013) Colombia v Ecuador Peru v Uruguay Paraguay v Bolivia Chile v Venezuela 11 June 2013 (10 September 2013) Bolivia v Ecuador Uruguay v Colombia Paraguay v Argentina Venezuela v Peru 14 June 2013 (11 October 2013) Argentina v Peru Venezuela v Paraguay Colombia v Chile Ecuador v Uruguay 18 June 2013 (15 October 2013) Peru v Bolivia Chile v Ecuador Uruguay v Argentina Paraguay v Colombia J
bump* Can't wait for October...no falta nada Any news on who's getting the US TV rights? I think SCP Worldwide only bought it for 2010 and doesn't look like they renewed it.
I was just gonna mention that, link here: http://redgol.cl/2011/7/fifa-ratifico-calendario-de-las-clasificat/
I wouldn't go as far as to assume that CONMEBOL5 vs. ASIA5 is a foregone conclusion but I am gonna venture and say CONMEBOL5 might be Chile.
and who u think is going to be the Asian team? Take a wild guess... It would be funny Peru vs Japan...
At this point in time and basing my prediction on the last Asian Cup, I'd say South Korea, Australia, Japan (in no particular order). Uzbekistan had a run to the semis, as well. North Korea qualified to South Africa last year and generally qualify teams to both the U20 and U17 WCs. Teams like Qatar and KSA can throw money around to fire/hire coaches: I am sure a little stability would help them. To a lesser degree, Iran and China might be there or thereabouts. Jordan also had a solid showing in the first round of the Asian Cup, fwiw. The top 4 will probably come from this group, as well as the 5th-placed team that will face CONMEBOL's #5 team.
I'd say Japan, Australia and the 2 Koreas qualify directly so the 5th one will probably be some arab country Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrein, Kuwait,
The best teams in Asia are Japan, S.Korea, and Australia. Iran could be among the top 5. They hired former Portuguese coach, Carlos Quieroz who dismantled N.Korea at the WC. The Koreans are in a decline, they had an awful Asian Cup. Uzbekistan is a country that has been improving over the years. They are situated in the same group as Japan in N.Korea. Two of those three will qualify to the next round.
The Saudi federation has money to spend. They are also getting desperate. In Asia they used to be a regional power and that has diminished over the years. They missed out on the last WC, and in the last Asian cup they had a very poor performance crashing out with 0 points.

why are they playing matches on Fridays for this WCQ? in the past WCQs a round would always be played on Sat and Sun and then the following round would be played on a Tues and Wed. I work on Fridays lol...
Apparently is Platini's idea. Playing fridays and tuesdays in South America is a great idea from the point of view of the european clubs, so they can have their players back 1 day earlier.
