Hello All. I go to to Millersville University in PA and am working on a supporters club for their soccer team called the Black and Gold Army. We are Division II and I'm pretty sure no other Division II School Team in the conference has a supporters club. I need some hlpe though starting it up...mainly songs to sing and such...if anybody has any ideas please feel free to post them.

Here is some stuff about us i was thinking about using:
    -School Colors: Black/Gold/White (Ivory)
    -School Mascot: Marauder and Parrot

As you can see im having trouble finding stuff to chant about...hope you guys can help.

    Thanks,

    Jonsland

Go to a Philly Union game. Sit near the Sons of Ben section...then steal shamelessly.

I am an enormous fan of the Philadelphia Union and a Sons Of Ben...While I Could Very Easily Steal Their Chants...I Dont Want To...I Would Rather Make Something Much More Original And Different...

While I can appreciate you wanting to make a solid go of this, your culture will be bred on attitude... not substance. My point is, just get your group singing and chanting. The content is irrelevant. As your group grows in numbers and in confidence, more team-specific chants will find their way into your group.

You should steal every single MLS and USMNT chant you can find. Many supporters' groups have chant sheets that you can find online. Simply change one or two lyrics to match your needs and you're all set.

    Best of luck!

Good points, Crimson Ace. I wish I could remember where I saw this, but during last year's World Cup a TV commentator did a hilarious piece on national team chants. The joke was that every team's chants were recorded, translated, and all roughly said the same thing: "We have come from far away and we are drunk."

Maybe steal from American football.. they'll never know, LOL! Of course, they probably stole it from English football.

    One from LSU.

OK, more constructive: Since you're a Parrot, how about something along the lines of:

Bad Bird, Bad Bird, whatcha gonna do when "we" come for you? (Changed they to we ... implying you're coming after your competition).

Use "I Believe" from the Empire Supporters Club. It's a very effective chant.

Thank you for proving my point. ;)

The "I Believe" chant is used by virtually every MLS team... and beyond. There are great chants out there that simply get reformatted and claimed. No sense in re-inventing the wheel as an upstart supporter group. Personalized chants will come with time.

Yeah, instead of getting into the tired debate of who did it first, your point is right.

I Believe and We Love Ya are must haves.

Just avoid that one that is "USA USA USA" tune, and be original. Having been to games all over Europe, I don't think I ever heard the same melody at a different stadium.

Don't use any "You Suck" cheers, also avoid "A__-hole" stuff, avoid any obscenities. Be creative, mock as you wish, but doing with some class.

One of my favorites from West Ham...

Sung to the tune of "That's Amore"

When the balls in the air
    and their isn't a care

    It's DiCanio!!!

There was another one about Rio Ferdinand using Duran Duran's "Rio".

Seems like New Order's "Blue Monday" would lend itself to a few good chants.

Okay that's my 2 cents. Good luck Marauders and Parrot.

What happened to the supporters club this year at Ville? Team has a great year and goes to the Final Four - still waiting for the supporters club at games?! Hopefully they show up this fall - looking forward to seeing that in the stands!
