lol you must not know shit about football then because all I've seen in these last quarterfinals was nose to nose competitive games that hasn't been seen in a while, the outcome of games being decided in the last minute, similar to a Dostoevsky novel..n u tell me that it's been boring??? foreal, foreal...go stick to your mexican league where the goals n assists are provided by lower level south american players

For twenty Minutes. Just being honest. But then again, that pressure play was enough to keep the possession pretty even until Venezuela scored. Once Chile scored, you all fell apart again. Venezuela scored 2.

Chile didnt play well at all, especially in the last 10 minutes where they where completely lifeless like they didnt realize the position they where in.

Chile played better in the second half and probably didn't deserve to lose like that....but when you make huge mistakes at the back, you can't complain.

its a shame that the teams that have sought to be protagonists, that have sought to attack, have all lost.

Its not to say that Venezuela or Peru or Paraguay don't deserve to be in the semis, but it seems that Colombia, Chile, and Brazil don't deserve to be out. posts, huge saves, balls cleared off the line, all the results went against the run of play. but that's football.

Colombia, Chile and Brazil created plenty of chances but weren't affective enough. It only matters when the ball goes in. Venezuela had two chances today and converted both of them. Defending is also part of the game.

Again, we gave away the first half. No creativity to get over that Venezuelan pressure whatsoever.

In BS we like to compare a bunch of quarter final matches to a Dostoevsky novel. What an awful simile! Made me lulz.

Will the Rincon roja be a huge loss for Venezuela in the next match? I'm glad we are getting a rematch of the best match of the group stages.

Yeah that's how I see it at least.Although it is a competitive tournament that has excitement, it has really relied on tactic and at least imo, shows there is a lack of players who can truly take the team on their shoulders and lead them.

That tackle on Alexis Sanchez could have most definitely been a penalty too.

Oh yes we did, you got to have a more sense of self citicism here. Chile lost this game mainly due to its own arrogance by thinking that this match was so easy, that Borghi, thought there was no need to prepare it properly.

In the first half of the match, Chile came out to play with no plan at all, and in fact he (Borghi), prefered to keep Valdivia in the bench in order to not risk him, when what chile should have done is play its chances from the begining, make a couple of goals and maybe only then replace the player in order that he could recover better, but NO, we were far more superior to our current opponent. There was no need to risk him before. Now he has lots of time to recover, as we are done here now....

Well we got what we deserved on this one, as it seems we are so hard headed, that we are incapable of learning that all games must be played, and that there is no such thing as "a game won in advance".

The reason why the stadium in San Juan wasn`t completely full this time with chileans, it is because lots of us weren`t thinking on Venezuela, but on the semifinal we were suposed to be playing afterwards in Mendoza, next Wednesday, and some even more optimist were already making plans to go to the final game and root for our team, in Buenos Aires, as well.

    Shit, I`m sad and angry......

Underestimating Juan Arangol's free-kick skills, is a huge mistake! ;)

After Japan's sensational win of the Women WC 2011, Venezuela will be winning the Copa now. :))

    off the posts several times

ad a lil luck to any win

but in short tournaments like that, luck needs to be there

Response to Chile's commercial (from about 5 years ago) saying that Venezuela is only good at [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTOWaXcamEQ"]making soap operas[/ame].

    Enjoy.
