I'm loving how Joel Valencia plays. A lot of small touches and has great ball control. He doesn't just blast the ball up in the air, he controls it and passes the ball very good.

Anyone else liking the new golie? Seems like he is more confident.

that kid valencia really makes the difference, but finishing still f ing poor should have been at least 5-0 to show other teams we mean business.kind of lackadaisical play in first half.i'll take the win and hope they continue in this world cup.:)

by the way ,I' would bench batioja next game, the pressure is too much for him and start Valencia.just saying!!! by the way the new goalie is better than butterfinger ,should have replaced him in first game once he gave up 3..

Very exciting game. Both goalies made some great saves too.. the game could've of easily ended 6-6.

to our fortune we're playing Brazil in the round of 16. Game over.

I'm still glad we made it to the second phase of this tournament. It's good to know there's a promising future in these kids. Hopefully if Vizuete is still coaching at youth level he'll push these kids to the next level.

well played kids ,but with out a striker its difficult.we went down swinging and sometimes that all we can ask..:( thumbs up for Valencia ,hopefully he becomes the next "VALENCIA" just love the way he plays .not afraid to take it to them and can put a pass in.almost got himself a goal by taking on 3 and with a spin move.

The kid batioja was all hype and easily the worst player in Ecuador. If Ecuador had a decent striker, thay couls of beat brasil today. Where are all the "WUNDERFANS?"

Was that Joel Valencia or Neymar I couldn't tell :p

Anyways congrats to the kids they played their butts off the last 3 games. Had we played with this lineup against Germany we may have had a closer match. I like this kid Cevallos he reminds me of Aguinaga with the way he reads the game. I also like the goalie pretty impresive and of course Valencia with those slick skills reminds me of Benitez a little but with better passing.

Real Madrid's youth system is nothing close to Barça`s! Real Madrid just gobbles up any possible talent and treats them like expendable players and will do whatever with them. Barça has very talented scouts that take youth players very seriously and has a very different mentality than that of RM. I think we all know this. Look at what Barça`s system has produced- Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Pique, Messi, Bojan, Puyol, etc. One of the best, if not the best youth development in the world.

it's not Real Madrid's fault Guerrero wanted to leave. That kid was too desperate to play in a first division team and wasn't ready for it. That's why he failed miserably when he went to Emelec. If anything, he's just as good as any player that Independiente would form at youth level (which isn't bad b/c they have a pretty good youth system). Guerrero's a good player but it was a bit unrealistic for him to have expectations that high when he was like 18. He was thinking he could go to any Ecuadorian team and just start simply b/c he's coming from Real Madrid's youth system. wronnngg. By now he should have moved to a better ecuadorian club team AT LEAST but no one has picked him up.

Montero and Rojas did the right moves. Somehow Guerrero's still stuck.
