i like the milan style, but considered red and yellow stripes since i cant think of many teams with this pattern as their own. ive seen renditions from Galatasaray, Monarcas Morelia, and Lille, but they used them as a change in their traditional pattern.
red and yellow vertical stripes or horizontal? i suggest half red, half yellow shirt with white sleeves. white shorts. white socks. adidas stripes red/yellow/red.
Anything but stripes. I've never been a fan. No hoops either. The best uniforms are either solids or solids with a secondary panel color IMO.
navy blue and orange. I like the color combination. While reading some articles on the Galaxy's match in San Diego I came across this logo (reminds me a bit of the CONCACAF one)
San Diego City's Flag is Red/White/Yellow ..... so red and yellow would be rad. If not that then I say Blue and gold .... tribute to the Sockers
What do you think about the name "San Diego Sharks", also here is a first shot at the crest. I use the color from the city flag.
I'm definitely liking the yellow, red and white as the team colors, and 'San Diego Sharks' sounds good (even though I like other names better), but the combination of the colors and the shark doesn't look right. Those just are aren't ocean/fish colors. Good work, though. For 'Surfriders' and I kind of have a picture in my head of a crest with a surfboard sticking up and a sunset over the sea behind it. The red/yellow colors could easily be incorporated in a sunset. Maybe a kind of sea green/blue could be the third color.
I was thinking maybe something like the German National Team colors? because of the flag of san diego, seems to fit the colors of the german jerseys... This would be a very original style for a club merging the colors Red White And yellow and maybe alternating white with Black?
How about Dark Orange with Navy trim, a la Sign on San Diego. With Yellow and blue a la Brasil as an alternate.
Well I can't edit this post, but I've changed my mind. Liking the San Diego heritage themes more and more. I think Gold and Red (a la the flag) are the way to go. schemes could be primary gold kit with red trim, and a red kit with gold trim as an alternate. Wouldn't conflict with most other primaries, so they'd get to wear their Gold kits a lot. MLS needs more Gold and Red.
I agree about the navy/orange or the other way around and the "sign on San Diego". As for your alternate proposal, as long as yellow is the primary color, then it works better, because plenty of teams have a lot of blue already, compared to little yellow. Would also be a nice throwback to the San Diego Sockers from NASL 1.0.
Definately, I think for a SD team the kits needs to be comprised a lot of gold/yellow. Tribute to the flag and sun, and would only possibly conflict with Columbus Crew and RSL's 3rd kit.
if anything. i think a unique uniform combination will do plenty to set us apart from the rest of the league. ill look up some combinations later.
This is cool, but I'd be interested to see something in the yellow and red (San Diego flag). Of course I'm not married to the idea though. I'm thinking Roma's kit was cool (but with yellow). Galatasaray is pretty cool too, I could see that working out.
I like the Sockers colors quite a bit, and agree that the blue isn't Galaxy blue. I'd love a solid yellow top, blue shorts, and white socks. Alternately, I'd love hoops, maybe with blue shorts, white socks. I also like the Sockers name. I know it has been an outdoor team, but I strictly remember their MISL incarnation.
