They announced this at the San Diego Boca (NPSL) match at Balboa Stadium. Very, very happy about this. Looking forward to getting down to TJ.

Habra desfile en Tjuana para celebrar el campeonato y el pase de los XOLOS a 1ra division. FELICIDADES TIJUANA, BIENVENIDOS A 1RA DIVISION, SWEET!!!!!!!!! Cita en estadio caliente hoy Domingo a las 3:30PM. http://xolos.com.mx/sitio/notas.php?id=902
TV Azteca is expected to offer the Xolos USD$12 million for worldwide TV rights to Xolos home matches during the 2011-2012 season. (In comparison, TVC Deportes paid the Xolos about USD$4 million during the past season for the rights in Mexico only.) (TV Azteca has sublicensing deals with ESPN Deportes and FOX Deportes in the U.S.; ESPN DOS in Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Central America; and FOX Sports Latin America - South Cone in South America except Brazil and Venezuela. In the U.S., regular season matches will air live on Azteca America with possible simulcast on either ESPN Deportes or FOX Deportes. Home games in the Liguilla will air in the U.S. exclusively on Azteca America.) Expect Xolos home matches to be played on SUNDAYS at 12noon local time (or 1pm local time when the clocks in Baja California are out of sync with the clocks in Mexico City. Baja California is on Summer Time from the 2nd Sunday in March through the Saturday preceding the 1st Sunday in November, but Mexico City is on Summer Time from the 1st Sunday in April through the Saturday preceding the last Sunday in October.) The Sunday 2pm Central (3pm Eastern) time slot is the same slot previously occupied by Indios de Ciudad Juarez when Indios were in the Mexican 1st Division. Because Estadio Caliente does not have lights, games scheduled for mid-week will have to be played at either 12noon or 1pm local time. (Remember that Toluca had to play mid-week matches at 3pm local time before lights were installed at Estadio Nemesio Diez.) If and when the Xolos were to qualify for Copa Libertadores or the CONCACAF Champions League, Estadio Caliente will need to install lights, either temporary or permanent. == The U.S. Soccer Federation will charge the Xolos 35% of gross ticket receipts if the Xolos were to play any home match across the border at Qualcomm Stadium.
Interesting that the idea has been floated far enough for the USSF to consider their cut of the receipts if a game is plaied on this side of the border. It would be great if it were to happen.
The USSF has been charging 35% of gross ticket receipts for any friendly held on U.S. soil that does not involve a U.S. club since the 1990's. Those matches involving Chivas Guadalajara or Club America that are being staged by Creative Artists Agency (CAA) this July (under the "World Football Challenge") brand are subject to the 35% gross ticket receipts payment to the USSF. Ditto the Barcelona vs Manchester United match at Fed Ex field. == I would be surprised if the Xolos were to move a home match to Qualcomm Stadium. The Hank family wants to build up Estadio Caliente. Expect more executive boxes to be built. Don't be surprised if lights were to be installed in the next 12 months.
I was under the impression that an agreement between TV Azteca and Televisa existed where each network would alternate the rights of newly promoted teams. Last year, TV Azteca was televising Necaxa's home games. It the agreement still exists, then it would be Televisa's turn...

Obviously that's not the case. From what I've read it's really the teams who decide who is airing them, not the networks. Not sure how wide spread Televisa is in the US but with Azteca's availability on systems like Time Warner they make a lot of sense as a network partner for the Xolos.
LMvPC is right. If it was up to the team, why would Necaxa agree to go with TV Azteca. Clausura 2008 - Indios = TV Azteca Clausura 2009 - Queretaro = Televisa Bicentenario 2010 - Necaxa = TV Azteca
No. Televisa and TV Azteca do NOT alternate. Instead, the promoted team will be offered a contract by whichever TV network that has an opening due to relegation (unless another team were to switch TV partners.) Queretaro signed a one-year deal with Televisa for 2009-2010 to replace the relegated Necaxa. That deal was renewed for 2010-2011 and is expected to be renewed again for 2011-2012. (Queretaro was with TV Azteca before it was relegated.) Necaxa (which is owned by Televisa) signed a one-year deal with TV Azteca for 2010-2011 to replace the relegated Indios. Rather than giving up the rights to one the other 10 teams, Televisa chose to sell the TV rights of Necaxa to TV Azteca instead. Because Necaxa were relegated again, TV Azteca has an opening to fill for 2011-2012. (Televisa already has the Mexican TV rights to 10 teams and the U.S. TV rights to 9 teams so Televisa has no room for another team. Chivas Guadalajara is the only one that cuts its own U.S. TV deal with Telemundo directly without Televisa serving as the middleman.) Azteca America play-by-play announcer Jesus H. Lopez mentioned the USD$12 million figure ("mas o menos", or "more or less") during Saturday's Xolos-Irapuato telecast. TV Azteca has 2 time slots available: Fridays at 8pm Central Time (the slot occupied by Necaxa during 2010-2011) and Sundays at 2pm Central Time (the slot previously occupied by Indios prior to their relegation.) Because Estadio Caliente does not have lights, expect the Xolos to be on TV Azteca on Sundays at 2pm Central Time (usually 12noon Pacific Time, or 1pm Pacific Time when the clocks in the U.S. and Baja California are out of sync with the clocks in Mexico City.) == Fridays 8pm Central Time - Estudiantes Tecos - TV Azteca (sublicensed to the Univision Networks in the U.S.) Saturdays 5pm Central Time - Queretaro - Televisa (Univision Networks in the U.S) 5pm Central Time - Jaguares - TV Azteca (Azteca America in the U.S.) 5pm Central Time - Cruz Azul -TV Azteca (sublicensed to ESPN DOS in Mexico) (Azteca America in the U.S.) 5pm or 7pm Central Time - Monterrey - Televisa (Telemundo U.S.) 7pm Central Time - Chivas Guadalajara - Televisa in Mexico, Telemundo in the U.S. through the 2012-2013 season 7pm Central Time - Tigres - Televisa (Telemundo U.S.) 7pm Central Time - Pachuca - TV Azteca (sublicensed to the Univision Networks in the U.S.) 7pm Central Time - Santos - TV Azteca (sublicensed to ESPN DOS in Mexico, sublicensed to the Univision Networks in the U.S.) 9pm Central Time - Atlas - Televisa (Univision Networks in the U.S) 9pm Central Time - Atlante - Televisa (Univision Networks in the U.S) 9pm Central Time - San Luis - Televisa (Univision Networks in the U.S) Sundays 12noon Central Time - Pumas - Televisa (Telemundo U.S.) 12noon Central Time - Toluca - Televisa (Telemundo U.S.) 12noon Central Time - Monarcas - TV Azteca (Azteca America in the U.S.) 4pm or 5pm Central Time - Club America - Televisa (Univision Networks in the U.S) -- Azteca America sublicenses non-exclusive simulcast rights to an average of one regular season match each week to ESPN Deportes and one regular season match each week to FOX Deportes.
