Brooks is obviously going to be a big part of the U20 team this new cycle so I figured he's worth having his own thread.

People at US Soccer and Hertha are very high on him.

Anyway, here's a new article for those who don't know that much about him.

BROOKS EXCITED TO LEAD U-20S IN FRANCE

I am really excited about Brooks. He has been my YA future sleeper pick for a long time. Most don't know about him but he is talented.

Very big news, thanks as always Brian. An 18 year old defender playing in the Bundesliga is awesome.

Just to be clear, Brooks isn't playing in the Bundesliga yet -- but given his progression, it's not unreasonable to hope for a debut next season.

Potentially we could have Gyau and Brooks both playing as 18 -19 years old in the BL, not bad. I still harbour hopes that Lletget will see time with whfc 1st team next year albeit in the chanlionship div.

West Ham being relegated is just about the only way I see Lletget getting any minutes for the first team next year.

Bshredder's article hints at the posibility that Jann George could see Bundesliga action. Maybe even Boyd as well...should be fun!

Shredder, when you say the officialdom is high on him, are they high on him in a Chad Marshall "he's our best prospect" sort of way? Or in a Neven Subotic "this guy could be a serious player at a major club" sort of way?

Seems pretty obvious its the ladder.. Signing him to a shiny new contract should be enough to hint at that.

And Alfredo Morales, who turned 21 this week, has been occasionally making the bench for Hertha and likely could see the field next season. There is a lot of interesting young talent progressing in Germany at the moment. Should be a fun next couple seasons.

I don't think you will find many Rongen "haters" around here when it comes to identifying and recruiting talent. Everyone knows that is his strength.

Morales is second row from top, 2nd player in from right. Would be great to see some more Yanks in the top flight this year.
