We are trying to finalize all the Cauldron plans for June 9th next Tuesday at 6pm. What banners/flags we would ideally like to do, what's going on them, how much will all this cost etc?

Please respond here if you can come so I can get a headcount. If it's more than 12 I will get an alternate venue other than the Sporting offices. All are welcome.

Well. I was only kidding. But if it would benefit others then maybe it's not stupid. Could be cool for cauldron groups outside of KC to get a look into some of the inner workings. But that's coming from someone on the outside, so whatever you guys choose. And I'm way too new to this group to be making suggestions. Look forward to hearing what you guys have planned for opening day!

This Wednesday 7:30pm Quicks BBQ - Big Meeting

What - KC Cauldron Opening Day Meeting | CONCACAF Champions League Final Leg 2 - RSL vs. Monterrey
Where - Quicks BarBQ 1007 Merriam Lane - Kansas City KS map here
    When - Wednesday, April 27th - 7:30 PM (CONCACAF Final at 9pm)

Really sorry to change the time/date at the last second, but a number of factors came together to make it apparent we needed to move the date of this meeting. Can a mod change the thread title for me please?

The amount of people interested in coming meant we needed to move it out of the Sporting offices. Most of our partners were unable to accommodate us and since we already were having a Quicks BarBQ watch party for the 9pm RSL game, it made sense to combine the two and save people's gas/time. Quicks is going to donate a portion of people's food and drink tab towards our TIFO efforts.

We're going to have scarf designs to vote/discuss so they can be put into production this week.

We'll cover the ideas that we've heard so far, ask for new ones, get a gameday schedule set, and figure out exactly what kind of costs we're looking at to make it happen.

The RSL - Monterrey CONCACAF Champions League Final starts at 9pm so stay for both if you like. They'll have $1 beers, and $10.99 full slabs of ribs.

I understand the change in date and it sounds like a fun time but I have to work on Wednesday night so I won't be able to attend after all.

Sorry for the change - we'll make sure we get everyone updated with what comes out of this - One thing that keeps coming back when we've asked for ideas is a timeline.

What moments over the history of our club would you want recognized? Maybe it's not a moment - it's a player, or idea, anything.

Feel free to post away here and we'll make sure your input is included.

Pulling some different things together from multiple threads for an idea on opening day, so that we can have a tradition with an anthem started. Work with the FO and see if they would be willing to put together a highlight video showing all the great moments in the teams history. Have the video set to SWOTR/WAWW (or if we choose a different song it) with lyrics scrolling by the highlights, eventually have the music fade out so it is only fans singing similar to the video below. While everyone in the stadium holds opening day scarves we are hopefully getting over head. Hopefully with lyrics going by, the Cauldron belting the song out, and some encouragement from the FO the rest of the stadium will join in the singing.

Please no one take offense to this, because I am in no way trying to offend anyone, remember, I'm new and I'm just trying to get stuck in and learn as much as I possibly can.

I don't know about you guys, but that video gives me chills. I've new to the club this year and don't know what SWOTR sounds like when you guys sing it. If it does sound like this then great! It's the lyrics of YNWA that give me chills too. I know WHY you guys sing SWOTR. Kansas, wizards, etc... I get that. I'm just curious what about this song makes it a good football anthem? (Honest question, looking for answers, not being sarcastic). YNWA's lyrics bring people together. You'll never walk alone. I get it, as fans, we stand and fight together. It's the lyrics that make it an anthem of so many teams.

So, what about SWOTR makes it anthem material and not just another silly song that we sing?

Honestly guys, I'm just curious and am asking these questions seriously because I wan't to learn. Thanks for the responses that their might be.

What makes "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" a great anthem for West Ham? Or what makes "You are My Sunshine" so cool when the Timbers Army sings it?

And what's to stop us from singing it like SOTR/WaWW really means something?
