Took this picture as I was walking through the streets of Testaccio. There are plenty of them.

YOu are right, if this happened in a more open financial system (like the US or Northern Europe) she would be in prison.

Very strange declarations from Giampaolo Montali. He claims that this Open Gate Italia, which came forward and said they were handling communications for Di Benedetto and the new AS Roma, are in no way representing AS Roma and do not have the right to speak for the coming president Thomas Di Benedetto. He even goes on to claim the president is very upset that people are speaking on his behalf.

People are very perplexed over this because it was Open Gate Italia that arranged and coordinated the press conference in Boston which both Thomas Di Benedetto and James Pallotta participated in.

Maybe they are only supposed to be used for coordination and translation,

and they tried to do more than that like act as if they were in charge? who knows.

This is not exact. I've been following the issue for my work since day #1, and Montali today's words left me extremely perplexed.

Open Gate is quite a big PR company over here, and they've been in charge for all DiBenedetto media relations and communication since he landed in Rome.
They arranged all interviews, released official statements and set up all aspects and content of the press conference in Boston. Two colleagues of mine were there and confirmed to me the story today.

Probably the problem is that mr Montali and none of AS Roma people have been invited. And if next president qas unhappy with them he would have let the press know directly or through his legal team. Not through Montali for sure.
To me this sounds more like a power play attempt by Montali, who's trying to show the muscles, but probably did not realize that the day Baldini and Sabatini will land in Rome he will be out working for the bank. Out him and the rest of people who badly managed as Roma in these years.

A marketing plan for the AS Roma has leaked out onto the internet. It was prepared by Madison Avenua Sports and Entertainment, a company which is run by our old friend Joe Tacopina.

It's being said this plan was originally prepared for George Soros (who was never really interested ) and has been adapted for this new ownership.

There is no confirmation if this is true, but it makes sense when you consider that James Pallotta was working with Soros to purchase AS Roma and then went in with Di Benedetto.

The plan is called "All Roads Lead to AS Roma" and you can look it over and understand it without my translating it, some basic stuff in it and some more interesting things like a reality tv show on HBO. I see that as a bit of a stretch personally.

Any word on what was mentioned a few days ago about Nike? I know it's still early but I'm just as excited about Nike kits as I am about buying new players.

I wonder if that was just a rumor.

We have had this discussion so many times, but even though they woln't pay roma how they pay inter, it is better in the long run for globalization reasons

I haven't hear anything yet, but I suspect something will happen. There are a wide variety of reasons for ditching Kappa.

Something very interesting just happened with Liverpool which might apply to us. They are leaving Addidas and going with the American newcomer Warrior. It's a record setting deal from my understanding. I hear this company Warrior makes mostly sport protection pads but is looking to expand. Aside from Liverpool they are going to sponsor the Boston Red Sox. Also this company Warrior is based out of ... you guessed it Boston.

Sounds like Warrior Sports of Michigan (subsidiary of New Balance of Boston) will likely take over for AS Roma if Kappa gets dumped.

I doubt Nike or Addidas gets AS Roma deal...

Well there is a very key difference between Liverpool and Roma. Liverpool has a brand that cam make Warrior grow. Roma doesn't, Roma needs a company that can make it's brand grow. So I still see Nike or Kappa as being better suited, then again money talks.

Good point, but New Balance has apparel deal with Melbourne Football Club in Austrailia too....so if New Balance wants its Warrior Brand to grow more it may go for it.... But then again Kappa may not get dumped by AS Roma till the deal expires....

Also my sources pegged it as Warrior owning New Balance and not the other way around.

I highly doubt Warrior will get the contract for Roma.

Football Italia has a couple of interesting news bits about Roma today:

    - A new stadium in the Boccea area. Certainly closer than Olimpico :)

    - A new logo. Hmmm?

in the Boccea area? I think I know where it is. There is one spot where there is a lot of land. Its a ways outside the city center though...I walked from there to the Vatican once and it took 1 & 1/2 hours....how funny.....:)

Ok, I dont know the area, just looked it up on google maps and it looked closer than Olimpico...

But I wasn't accurate in quoting the article: it's in the Massimina area and it's the Boccea subway station that is the closest station :)

I know the Aurelia/ Largo Boccea area where there is a mercato every morning from 8 am to 12 PM M-F as my cousin had an apt/condo there. Its a little cluttered but then, so is all of Rome.
