Looked shaky in the first half but much better in the second. The goal was another soft one that probably should have been saved. The forwards also need to get more creative and dangerous. But that being said I thought we were in both games so far and could have come out with points in each. I think that the team will continue to get better as they gel and if they can pick up a few points in the next few games a shot at the playoff is not out of the question.

Crowd was 3,100+ according to the Silverbacks website. Only about a 400 person drop off from opening night, which is great. If they can stay above 3,000 for a season average I think you'd have to consider it a success in the stands for the team at least, and probably much better than most would have predicted considering the two year hiatus.

Wow! I had posted my doubts about Atlanta being part of the NASL in the past. I have been extremely impressed with their attendance figures in the first two games. While both games were losses - I expected blow outs losses. Keep it up Atlanta fans! Great turnout again.

Enjoyable game. Edmonton looked good in the first half our keeper was v. shaky, but had a couple of good saves in the second half. Atmosphere was good in 109 and happy we stayed above 3,000. Hopefully get some points next week. The attacking play in the second half deserved a goal.

Go Sillybacks! Great start to the season! 0-2

So half the team does not even have experience at even a top college level and the other half are washed up pros so why are they expecting the fans to support them?

This is the lineup from a couple years ago and they played some great soccer and got better results and the support still sucked.....

I would take this team back to support in a second...

    Ryan McIntosh (GK)
Justin Moore/ Matt Bobo / Josh Bolton / David Hayes

Duke Hashimoto / Scott Buete / Tony McManus / Mike Ambersley

    Mac Kanji / Warren Ukah

    Subs:
    Blake Camp
    Omar Jarun
    Martyn Lancaster
    Zack Kirby
    Jason McLauglin
    Ansu Toure
    Anthony Wolf

*Atlanta has still not learned they will have to invest to build a team that succeeds....Get a clue sillybacks!

I'm not certain how much you would expect them to 'invest' given the team was only confirmed as coming back in December and the league was approved even later than that

It's obvious you haven't supported the silverbacks very long...They have always been about 10 steps behind the standard of the league starting in the front office down to the professionalism of the team. The way the team is run is like a glorified mens league team.

They have the wrong people in charge and need to make drastic changes before they want to be a solid team in the NASL.

    1) Unorganized club/front office
    2) Horrible location for stadium
    3) Run down facilities
    4) Cut corners on everything including the players on the field

As I have stated before...If you invest in something then do it right from the beginning. They have the mentality to do just enough rather than trying to set the standard in the league.

Atlanta has zero chance of putting an MLS team with anyone associated to the Silverbacks.

You do know that the team is under new ownership and management now then they were before so give them time before you call them a total failure.

Second the man that is going to bring MLS to Atlanta is Aurthur Blank and I do not see his name anywhere around the Silverbacks. So unbunch your panties take a chill pill and relax. Hell come out and see a game or two. If you leave your negative attitude at home you might even have a good time.

Agree with Holla. All 4 Burn posts rag on the team. He calls the facilities run-down when they are almost new. He calls a spaghetti junction location, one of the easiest spots for people to drive to in the area, horrible (granted parking is not great). And I guess he's expecting an organization that's less than 6 months old to be a model of efficiency.

Burn, you seem to delight in the losses. Go ahead, Burn, glory in the old days. They aren't coming back.

    GO BACKS!

Well, in Burn's defense, he is not all wrong. The facilities are sub-standard. The field got flooded last year and the turf is quite bad. It's due to be replaced though, so that won't be an issue for long. The rest of the facilities also have only been minimally maintained since 2008. The bathrooms are a joke, also only one crappy water fountain. The location is good in the sense that it is close to highways. But it is bad in terms of accessibility. There is only one tiny road leading to the stadium and parking is limited. Not a problem given the current attendance, but it will be an issue if they try to expand.

I'm also happy that the team is back, but there is room for improvement.

Heh, I love the location. I can ride my bike and get there in probably 20 minutes. Then again, I'm probably the only one that would do that.
