That is right! WPS: Red Stars (Maybe 2012) WMLS (not related to MLS) Chicago Breeze No info on the WMSL website (Same as Chicago united Breeze?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_United_Breeze WPSL: Chicago Eclipse Libertyville soccer Complex 1580 West Winchester Road Libertyville, IL 60048 http://www.wpsl.info/team/index.php?tid=100 W-League: Graveyard Red Eleven (RIP 2010) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Red_Eleven KUFC Pursuit (RIP 2010) Windy city Bluez (RIP 2004) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windy_City_Bluez Rockford Dactyls (not Chicago but oh well) (RIP 2000) FC Twente3 (RIP 2009) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Twente3_IL
Actually the Chicago Cobras was a very good team back in the 90's. Charmaine Hooper used to play for them.
http://www.womensleaguesoccer.com/news/chicago_breeze_looks_to_develop_players_in_wls.html Small article about the Breeze.
Also include the Chicago Cobras, who as MRAD pointed out were great in the 90's. They won several championships and were the most dominant W-League team up until the WUSA started in 2001 and we're still quite a presence until they disbanded in 2004. Another for the Graveyard are the Windy City Gaels, which were founded in response to the Cobras disbanding.
Yes, this has confused my in the past, I am not sure if there is a continuation (coaches, player, owners, etc) between the Cobras, the Gaels and the Red Eleven. In wiki I believe I read that the Red Eleven were a direct continuation of the gaels, not sure about it. Are they 3 totaly separate organozations or the same basic organization with 3 different names?
Jeff Kassouf reports that the Chicago Red Stars will field a team in the WPSL in 2011 maybe under a variation of their name due to WPS concerns. http://www.equalizersoccer.com/2011/03/26/wpsl-to-feature-fc-dallas-extension-of-chicago-red-stars/ Looking forward to hearing more.
http://www.uslsoccer.com/home/91487.html It was the Chicago Gaels--Not Windy City! Do some research and you will find out they had a much better roster then any of the other teams and at a time when the W-League was at its strongest!
Hi Guys! Yes I got slammed for calling you clueless about not knowing a team in Chicago!! I didn't call you Clueless , only used it referring to not knowing one of the best teams in Chicago. As in "How would you be so clueless about knowing this team?" Not as in "You are just a clueless individual" I wouldn't think any of you are that thin skinned!!

A rebranded team, no much information. http://www.wpsl.info/standings/ W-League: Graveyard Red Stars (RIP 2010; Maybe back in 2012) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Red_Stars Red Eleven (RIP 2010) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Red_Eleven Chicago Cobras (RIP 2004) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Cobras Chicago Gaels (RIP 2008) Wiki page is the same as the Red Eleven. Chicago Gaels (RIP 2008) Wiki page is the same as the Red Eleven. The Wiki page is wrong to say the Gaels turned into Red 11...There notable players played for the Gaels and not for RED11. Red 11 had totally new owners and staff!
1 person makes a mistake on Chicago to Windy city and you get your panties in a bunch, sorry you got bad rep (It was not me) but your tone was harsh for a small mistake.[/QUOTE] ...Watch your tones!!! This site is full of wrong information! If you post make sure you have your facts or you should have people talk to you with harsh tones...I disagree it was harsh but I don;t work in a kindergarten class room.
Yes, I was thinking about splitting out the pages in wiki, but I do not think there is a lot of info out there that I could source for a new article on the Gaels. Maybe you can give it a shot.
Ahh, this explains the Chicago FC on the WPSL website. Nice, I wonder if the problem is that WPS owns the rights to "the Red Stars", One of the reasons to dislike single entity structure.
Red Stars are a for profit organization......I would only have to guess that they own that name..have the copy right. Maybe the other owners do not want it used?? Why the WPSL?? That the question I would ask..Its a lame league around the midwest!
http://www.wpsl.info/team/index.php?tid=124 Looks like they may get to keep the Chicago Red stars name
From the WPSL site they are playing at Benedictine, where the Red 11 played. They have a great facitliy there. I will have to try and make it down for a game or two. But Libertyville is closer so may see them play up there. Here's the division they are in. So I'm guessing 10 games total (ie home/away with each of the other teams).
