    However, considering the fast rate at which women football is evolving it's not that surprising in some countries.

    No disrespect intended - but it's a women's friendly match, not the World Cup final. Even women's competitive fixtures are played in small towns (in Europe at least). Do you think there would be huge interest in seeing Swedish/Canadian women's football in Italy? A small town is perfect for this type of match.
