I can't talk from watching the game.... but a 1-1 tie isnt bad right? We weer IN THEIR home field. Imagine if we played in La Paz? I am sure we'd have done better.

Not too shabby, from the sound of things, Guatemala probably should have scored on us ALOT in the first half. A 1-0 halftime isnt bad to go into the locker room.

Okay I hear you fuego but you have to put bolivia in context, have you seen Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia even Peru play this weekend? You have to think if what bolivia did last night would hold water against any of the team in the conmebol.. Just by watching everyone except uruguay( i think they play tonight) we aren't even in the same staduim right now.. thats the truth. I not happy with last night but I am optomistic, or hopeful:cool:

We didn't do bad. We weren't dominated or out performed.

WE controlled much of the first half, but we couldn't find the right pass on the final third of the field. Castillo was attacked every second he had with the ball. They watched his ass good. Im not crazy about Castillo, but clearly they knew not to give him space. Vaca did far better then I've seen from him in a long long time.

Guatemala knew where to put the ball when they got it. They are faster on the counter and more dangerous. When they did try to settle things, we often took the ball away. We definitely have a better touch, but we lack players that can really take advantage of a counter. Too often, we just gave them time to get their defense ready.

The one thing that I notice that's a clear Quinteros traite from the team is the defense. Everyone defends and tries to disrupts opponents flow.

Ok guys!! It is just a matter of time!! Yes Vaca plays tougher that you guys thought. He needed confidence and he got it from Quinteros. Copa America is just for the record. I´ll be happy if we are 7 th or 6th team out of 12 teams.

Argentine will pee in their pants when we play them in Hernando Siles. We need to work really hard to be very solid agains Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. Then a tie or two and we made it!!

End of story, we got a chance!!

Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela knows where to put the ball. THey don't fck around like we do.

The issue is not so much the players skill/talent, it's their mindset of how the game should be played. THeres no way we're going to get far with our soccer. No FCKING WAY. I do believe however the talent we have is a good representation of a South American soccer team.

I agree. This sucks. Our players are playing a very INEFFICIENT brand of futbol, and it stinks. We do things the hard way. I don't know if Quinteros is the answer, but at least we're winning more ball then before. We just don't know what to do with the ball as soon as we get it.

Did any of you saw the Peru vs Ecuador game?

Sub 20's being use... Bolivia thinking of Castillos and Botero... Please think long term already, Alcides pena, Darwin Rios etc. Quinteros and his mini cyles can kiss my ass! Quinteros is a bitch, he took the easy way out vs Panama; he showed me what kind of coach he is!

I know some of you have said and will say... it is only been 3 weeks and we know it has been more than that. Furthermore, he has been a coach for la liga for how many years? and he has had time too see this players before taking the job as the NT. Thus, that shit of 3/4 weeks only doesn't fly with me. ( Club America de Mex ... a shitty start and they changed coaches and the new coach had the list of players by Wednesday for that weekends game; and commentators were questioning him ... he said i know these players i have seen them for a while and i know my team! they won and how have they done in copa libetadores? That is a coach!

I have heard a few guys bitching about being a 2 club NT (oriente and bolivar.) Personally, I don't mind; since Spain is basically Barcelona and Real Madrid. The only difference is that Spain with most of their players being short as our players, they can play soccer. Our league sucks ass, it plays futbitol rather than professional soccer.

I would have given Quinteros some credit if we had lost both games, but seen some new faces in that team. Instead of bringing some sorry ass dinosaurs ( Castilos, Vaca, etc.) I would have giving him credit if he had done something new. Quinteros vs Panama ... we need 3 players and they arrived and will play vs Guatemala ... Quinteros vs Guatemala we need Saucedo and Marcelo etc.. same shit different day!

I would have giving him some credit if i heard him say ... This is a new team with some young players etc... I think Quinteros is a club coach and if the club has deep pockets he will do good. I don't see anything special with this guy, I don't see the eye of the tiger in Quinteros.

I would talk about the some of the players, but they did the talking in the games.

Vaca. I'm not crazy about him. He's not fast, and on average doesn't have enough fight.

But the little man did well. I hope he continues to perform. He didn't seem at all intimidated.

We need to stick with Quinteros. The players are fighting for balls and controlled most of the match. We're not dangerous, but I'm in high hopes Quinteros will have us counter MUCH faster. It was clear we tried to go up faster then the PANAMA game, but we still fcked around with the ball more then we should have.

I have nothing bad to say about Vaca for this match. Castillo was manned teh entire time. I would have liked Castillo to have been more imaginative with the coverage he got. Dude showed fight, but only on 50/50 balls.

Agreed. But we're not in a perfect world. Mexican Futbol has crazy sponsors that bring in crazy money to the sport. They can afford some of the best players and coaches South America has to offer. And it shows.

Mexican league is amazing. Every team know exactly where to put the ball.

I just pray that the inclusion of el Conejo, Martins, and a STRONG and HEALTHY galindo can change this whole team around.

Pedriel rom the sounds of it showed why he is in europe and most of them arent.

Pirata is gonna get your a$$

I must have seen a different game then some of you guys because I thought this team was atrocious and nothing to feel positive about. With all due respect to the Chapines, they're not a strong side at all and for some of us to be claiming some sort of moral victory because of a tie we got against them in their house speaks volumes of the current state of our national team.

I don't see any short-term hope for Bolivia. Your best playmaker is aging and not getting any better, and for the rest, the defense is weak and the midfield is full of viejitos who lack speed.

The only good news is the strikers, where some young prospects are showing.

But you cannot do anything with only strikers. Years ago I thought a new golden age may start for Bolivia, back when Joselito was tearing it up in the MLS.

I don't know what happened. Vaca seemed to have a great future, he had good technique and a good brain. A smart playmaker is the greatest blessing any team can have.

Is true! just look at the clubs representing mexico in copa libertadors. shit our best club undefended so far in la liga and they finally got their fist win last week. There will always be big clubs and little clubs, but i see Godoy y Cruz and i want them to win. It is sad to see the fiasco that is Wilster or our liga.

I have to go back to la cantera... If you spend the money and time there, you will have kids with technique and ball control (and some vitamins and supplements will help...a mega pack a day.)

When I see barcelona and their cantera i see the same style of playing. that is why when kids from la cantera move up, they dont have much of a problem adjusting to the team... because they know what to do in their position.

I know shame on me, i should not be talking about Barcelona and Bolivian soccer in the same paragraph.

    But talking about this cat!

This cat took over America and he knew what pieces to move, that is a coach men! I know comparing the Mexican league to ours in not fair, but i am talking about one person one coach. When i heard this mother ********er talking, i was this ********er has personality and balls!

Commentators ask him... it is not fair to the other players that you already have a list for this weekends game and it is only Wednesday!
Reinoso answer... Do you know how long i been a coach in Mexico? I have been a coach for over 25 years in the Mexican league, so I know my players and i know the league players; because, that is my job as a coach.

Now, granted if Quinteros was a coach that just come in from abroad; i would have said he still getting to know the players. but the ********er has been around.

Btw: i had heard that the only reason why Quinteros is the coach... is becuase the federation did not have the money to bring a quality coach from abroad. I don't know if this is true, but if someone can elaborate on this ... would be nice.

    hoyos is one
    schiaparelly two
    arguello or aguirre three
    melean or chuma four
    arce five

you guy played better technically and tactically! If you guys had a more imposing forward. you guys would have scored a couple on us
what type of futbol do you want our team to play Maddogg? i don't think there is anything wrong with our type of style, its just not implemented correctly.i think we should play our strong point of possession with the occasional longball/cross. what's the point of us playing 3 in the middle and 2 wingers if we can't hold possession long enough.
Watching certain games this week, i'm going to have to say we play more like Kazakistan and Scotland, only exception Scotland being FAR better than us.

LOL, gotta say i agree, these cycles are a waste if no new up and coming players are called up. Calling up the same players that Sanchez called up is not making Quinteros look good. We know this is a business as well and a lot of funny business goes on in deciding who gets to play for the NT (not just our country). And for Quinteros to say that some of his players weren't in for the Guatemala game as a reason for our performance is not commendable.

I saw the same here. no passion ,no thought in execution.Guatemala had a better passing game than us,they were tactically better too.

I was wrong all along about Vaca! I must admit, he had me fooled.

Vaca is smart... He is thinking long term here. What do i mean by this?

Think of oriente vs Leon H. Vaca had the time and space to play and he did good. But if you stick with him and ******** with him, he will disappear from the game.

He is thinking of not getting hurt! He will not challenge balls or trow his body around, he is think ... first i stay healthy; therefore, i can play more games and as long as i do ok... I will get a call up with the NT.

Now I could be wrong.... but please do elaborate on this.

Does no one remember that our best players had to drop out due to injury/libertadores business/ etc...its a FREAKIN friendly to try out the main core and other elements..

Lets face it guys..vaca's starting and everyone knows he damn well derserves it...hes the only consistent player we've had in years..clearly hes not the greatest thing of the world but he does the job..sorta..M3 arce and saucedo campos pedriel nacho galindo will all be awesome compliments..GIVE HIM TIME..QUINTEROS

IDK why you blame quinteros for not calling up players if they werent EFFIN available

we do have young talent but have not been given a proper tryout, the viejitos keep coming back. the only viejito with leadership seems to be Lorgio Alvarez.

I just hope that whatever Quinteros is trying to prove, only becomes more visible in the upcoming games Vs. Cuba and Colombia

Vaca reminds me of Donovan. He's smart, has decent ball control, and he's the center of the team. When he plays well, Bolivia plays well. When he doesn't play, Bolivia loses.

And, like Donovan, he's a bit chicken (smart?): if he gets roughed up a bit, he stops fighting and takes good care of himself.

The main difference is that Donovan at least has some good players around him. Vaca is often surrounded by clueless guys. And the Americans show heart, throwing themselves risking face and limb just to stop the other side from scoring. Most Bolivian players strike me as a bit "pecho frío."

Maybe that's why Joselito doesn't risk too much either. Let's see what he does with the next generation. Good luck, guys. I want to see all ten CONMEBOL teams doing well around the world.

Oh Yeah, The field was patchy and pretty bumpy too, if that makes a difference, this might explain why our defense was on the ground a lot.

Hey, if Arsene wenger sees something in him.... trust me the kid has skills.

His showing alone for bolivia when we got thrashed by mexico..... was AMAZING. He played better in that game, better then vaca did probably the whole time for our NT!

He even cracked a crucial FK that hit the post. By far opur best player thatgame, even thouugh it was his first time!

Edit: Does anyone have a copy of the mexico-bolivia game before the WC?
