As I said after the match at Lucky Bar, I've finally identified Wenger's single greatest weakness in the transfer market. This summer, he needs to open the coffers and spend as much as he can on a quality officiating crew. That's the only way we can ever hope to bring home any more silverware.

Was there shit reffing? Yes! Would it have changed anything? Not really. Move on . FA CUP and the Prem. C'MON YOU GUNNERS!

moving on is best... but huh???

i have to guess you are very new to this game.
the ref ENDED THE GAME with van persie being sent off.
we could afford to give up a goal at least.. they would of been desperate and had to go for it at the end... piss off with your cmon you gunners bullshit..

you dont know this game if you think we weren't winning the tie when van persie was sent off.

Sorry man but not having RVP for almost the entire second half changes EVERYTHING! That bullshit call changed the entire game....I dont care how much we sat back, or how little attacking we did, or how many poor passes we had...that red card was the defining moment of the game.

Fair enough. We did get comprehensively outplayed. But we were winning when Van Persie was sent off. QED.

I'm with Phishy on this. When RvP was ridiculously sent off WE WERE WINNING!

This simple fact seems to be eluding a lot of people.

    Sock puppets, I bet.

You mods should start pulling cards on those who come here to rub it in and to say imbecilic things like that the red card didn't change the game.

i can only think that he is some teenager that hasnt watched much football.
while yes, barcelona were totally dictating play.. that was the gameplan (somewhat).
just like how inter won last year.

over 180 mins, arsenal were 1 goal from koing barcelona. you cant tell me that being reduced to 10 men for almost the entirety of the second half did not determine the outcome. i dont give a shit about pass completion rates etc. the gameplan was not working, but the minimum requirement was a to progress, and being (technically less than ) a goal from qualifying over 2 legs, with this diabolical level of refereeing, makes it a very bitter pill to swallow

i honestly don't blame arsenal for losing, most of our players were injured and gone, and a few bad people in the line up(not bad players par se but placed in the wrong areas if you know what im trying to say) and a very cramped schedule.
we are a very good(and fair) team. barca is a cheating team

At the Time of the red card we were umm WINNING the tie, despite the fact that we were playing against "superior talent". How can it not kill off the game?????how hard is that to understand??????????????????

also, at what point in the first match did we score our goals ? late--when Farca were gassed.

i'm with you on this saratoga. well said.

the RVP send-off sucked, but it's not like RVP was ripping shots all day on Valdes...

there were just too many things that went wrong for us to pinpoint one part of the game that ended it for us.

I can't get over how biased the refs are towards Barcelona. I hate Barcelona with every inch of my being. They are UEFAs puppy.

"Oh, we're Barcelona, and we wear Unicef's logo for free, because we're more than a club."

Yeah, they are more than a club. They are a bunch of diving, manipulative, cheating c*nts, and they only ever make it through by being aided by bribed officials.

The ref comes from Switzerland. Mmmm...where are UEFA and FIFA based?

I wasn't interested in the game once the cheateree sent Van Persie off. After that, I just knew that if Arsenal, by some miracle, scored three more goals, the ref would give away four more penalties.

First Chelsea a couple of years ago, with their four legitimate penalty claims, and now this. F*ck I hate Barcelona. I hate them so much. You guys have no idea how much my blood boils at the sheer mention of their "brilliance".

If you foul a Barca player, you get booked, so that you can't foul them again. That makes them then look invincible, because no one wants to touch their diving, cheating players.

Dani Alves is ache hunt too...

...and Guardiola is a silly bald 4ker.

Over 800 passes and just 14 chances created :D

Just about sums it up... all the games played in front of the other side and even most of those 'supposed' 14 chances were ones where the keeper's completely blocking the shot or it's from an impossible angle.

They're a great side but there's REASON why they go out at a stage before the final most years.
