Pretty happy to see he is doing well after such a long month carrying an injury. Looks like it paid off to wait for him to be 100% healthy.

Impressive that Porto had the patience to do the right thing. Was thinking the same thing Teso.

It was a clinical finish form a tight angle. We didn't play great by any means, but he only needed one decent chance to bury the goal. Great stuff.

We can't ignore Teofilo goal scoring capabilities as well as Falcao. These two have the potential to be come one of the best 1-2 scoring punch in S.America. They need to put these two in the starting line up as well as Dayro/Pino and James.

I'd be all for having Falcao and Teo upfront if we had the midfield to overcome the lack of creativity of a second striker.

With two outstanding creative wide-men and a creative central midfielder, this would be the most lethal striker combo in South America. But the guys to make that work aren't on the team right now or aren't ready yet. Potentially:
    --Falcao-Teo
    James--Pino/Dayro/Cuadrado
    ----Aguilar
    ----Sanchez
That could be a lethal team.

But the bigger problem is on the coaching staff. Beyond player selection, they have attempted to cover up weaker parts of our game by fielding extra players rather than fielding the best player for a certain aspect.

For instance, after the first 0-4 to Chile they tried to fix a defensive lapse by replacing Sanchez-Amaya with Vargas-Bedoya-Guarin. Huge mistake. Not only did we lose an offensive mid but we also fielded three guys who hardly match the defensive capabilities of two.

Now we are trying to overcome the lack of offense by fielding three offensive midfielders and a single striker. The problem with that is Roda/Ramos-Gio-Dayro doesn't provide as match spark as two of our best men could do: James-Cuadrado/Pino/Dayro. We are wasting the surplus of quality strikers we have at the moment by trying to use them in a creative aspect. Foolish.

    Sorry for long post

Great post but we play with 1 striker because COLOMBIANS NEED A #10... They don't have it and they think its the end of the world. Thats why Bolillo rather bench Falcao or not give him a fair shot to give our savior Giovani Jesus Cristo Moreno the tallest Colombian in Colombia 90 minutes every game to just fall on his ugly face.

Our coaching staff trys to give people what they want and not what should be done. We have never had the quality up front that we have at this moment and have never had a defense half as weak as we have currently. Other than switch to a more offensive minded team we are trying to fix our weak defensive hole even if it cost us not scoring a goal for 7 months at a time

All 3 Colombians are starting tonight in Moscow vs CSKA, as we compete in the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League. Match kicks off in 38 minutes.

Falcao was quoted tonight in the Portuguese press as claiming that he'd be happy to stay at Porto for one more season:

"Everybody knows that I have a contract at Porto for two more years, and I'm very thankful for everything that the club has given me. Right now, I just want to finish this season well, and next year I will have the opportunity to play in a competition as important as the Champions League. Unless the Directors decide otherwise, I just want to continue to win more major titles at FC Porto. In fact, I am ready to renew my contract."

Hahaha!!! Since I was trying to post a reply, I missed the last goal.

The first two were really nice and you make it seem like the third one was just as good.

    Player of the game.

I did see James' shot at goal (so close).
