^ Jumping the gun a bit you two. Mckay, his agent and SFC have all said that the story is bullshit. The only thing worth questioning is what the hell were Cockeril and Hassett thinking when they wrote the article.

Which is why I added the qualifier "IF it is proven to be true"

I can't speak for the mindset of the journo's, but Cockerill is a known/demonstrated(by the way he bigs up everylittle thing the Sky Blues do) SFC lover and Seb Hassett although a tard, is usually very even handed and I reckon a pretty good football writer.

Wouldn't matter, there's no automatic qualification in the Champions League anymore. Hasn't been for three years now. (2008 was the last time anyone qualified automatically, with Urawa going through after winning the 2007 title.)

Cheers thanks for the info, Adelaide haven't had to concern ourselves with the ACL for a couple of years now, no surprise that things have change in that time..what I'd like to see is the AFC allow FA to put 'HAL_)Champions' and 'Runners up' into the draw so that teams that earn the ACL are still together when their turn to play comes about. HAL salary cap and squad size limits mean that by the time a team gets to play continental football, they are usually a shadow of the team that earned the right to play.

Oh, for Christ's sake, shut up and get over it. It happens here (and IS the mentality of many of our players), it happens in Europe, it happens everywhere.

He's played one game in Asia and he's already complaining. Ingrate.

+1 time for Australia(ns) to remember that the game is played slightly differently in different parts of the globe, it's part of the appeal of football to me at least:)

That's the country we live in unfortunately. Everyone just goes on and on about it.

I love it definitely LOL worthy, but if AUFC can go from last to fourth and this years top three were last years bottom 3, why can't the Sky Blues recruit well and storm back up the ladder next season? Admittedly we changed gaffer from the clueless Vidmar to Rini Coolen and you just signed Vitja to an extension. I rate the guy, if he's given support from what's left of the front Office and is allowed to chase a few quality signings, its gotta be do-able right?

    Two obstacles I can see:

    1) Club's bleeding money and doesn't know what to do about it.

They tried to save money this season by not lashing out on more/better players to replace Corica, Aloisi, Kisel, Colosimo. It didn't work and they're hurting from the collapse in gates, which has made any rebuilding harder as people take ages to switch back on and it will take more lights and mirrors to get back to even 09-10 numbers.

    2) Vitja's got footballing OCD.

Allergic to width, shoves round pegs in square holes, won't switch when things aren't working, just plain unimaginative - my take is he got the best out of a good set of players but just can't get things to work if all the pieces aren't the way he wants them. This season he's been outclassed by Straka, Coolen, Arnold and Postecoglu - even Merrick got in on the act. We'll do better if Carle stays fit but I don't think he can get the results and style to climb the table and win the crowds back.

"how does the Galaxy sell so many?" since when is 22,000 something to aspire to in a city with a population our entire country, with a squad boasting the USA's best player and the worlds most famous footballer. On a per-capita basis Sydney has been trouncing them (perhaps not this season).

It was just a loan, but since his club has now folded I'm sure they will try and sign him up full time.

So much Musialik wierdness. He's not the greatest sideways passing DM screener in the world but in a team that works he's quite useful. It's Vitja's fault that he can't build that. Do feel a tad sorry for him.
