I'm not denying that our finishing could have a had a bit more spunk to it but if you ask any St Pauli fan who their MOTM was, I would be pretty sure most of the would say Kessler - without a doubt.

Look, I'm not disagreeing with you. I even said that when we have these misses, the 1st thing I say is, "How'd he miss that?", not "What a fantastic save". But our stikeforce is made up of Barrios, Kuba, Goetze, Grosskreutz and Lewandowski, and I think that the level we are seeing them play, is their actual talent level.

Sometimes, these goals will look so freakin' easy when we have things go our way, sometimes, however, it is the easier ones that are hardest to put in.

Anyway, we should discuss this on the BVB general thread. I'll repost this there...

    Replied there.

And staying on this subject, check out Reus' finish against Scheisse.

When guys finish like that, not many keepers stand a chance.

You seem to be more certain of that "ass kicking" than some Bayern supporters. Who knows what the midweek match in Milan will do to the team.

Believe us, unless Robben's hamstring blows, it won't make a difference.

It's not as if the game's a dead rubber.

FR, I'm going from how the two teams have looked over the past four weeks.

We're both "in form", but you guys have will and attitude our boys are missing.

The only chance we have is if our young prima donnas decide to make some kind of statement next week.

And I don't see Inter hurting you guys much.

As I've said before, we played our best Bundesliga football after mid-week matches in the first half of the season.

People always talk about mid-week matches as if they are some sort of burden.

I think that is BS. I think mid-week matches can keep teams sharp.

I actually believe part of problem is that we don't have the mid-week matches anymore.

Most people seem to believe that makes things easier. I said before we were knocked out of the Europa League that it could work against us because the guys might think too much about the BL.

I believe this is exactly what is happening........

I think it goes both ways. Liverpool over the last couple of years have been very visibly affected by midweek games. Not saying that's the case with every team. With some it can certainly provide a boost.

That said, I'm not taking a win over you guys for granted. I think it'll be a tight affair and could very well go either way.

    Liverpool. Yeah, right.

I think they had a lot of other things affecting them besides mid-week matches.

The mid-week matches are just a too convenient excuse for too many.

It depends on which team shows up for you guys. The one which blew that lead in Koln or the one that pounded the shit out of Mainz on Saturday.

I think the BVB team that plays well all the way up until it gets in front of the opponents' net will show up.

The guys who give away three or four good chances a match only to be made not to pay for it by opponents.

I think that BVB team will show up.

With luck, you guys won't convert those chances. However, your overall form of the last four weeks tells me you guys will.......

I didn't use it as an excuse, just cited them as a team whose performances were very often affected directly after playing midweek.

    [/QUOTE]

We'll see. Seems like we both have a lot more faith in the others team. :D

In all honesty, I expect Bayern to perform and even win, especially if both sides continue the way the have the past few weeks. It just isn't a foregone conclusion for me.

    We have a different opinion.

I didn't mean to make your opinion out to be insignificant.

    We just disagree.

I know what I'm seeing at the moment.

All the evidence points to a big Bayern victory.

Right now, our attackers can't hit the fu(king sea if they fell off the Titanic.

And I get that. For me, it is.

Unless, as I stated, our "pretty boys" decide to make some kind of statement.

I honestly think they'll just be happy to get the Bayern match behind them.....

Interesting discussion you guys had going. However, I'm surprised that only the offensive play and blowing of chances were noted. What about defence? Don't forget, your defence is still stellar, while Bayern's somewhat sucks. That will play a role as well. Also, perhaps Barrios regained some self confidence against St. Pauli.

What are your thoughts on the relegation battle? As of now, who do you think will fall to the 2.BL? I know it is all very tight at the bottom of the table and it's virtually impossible to know who will be relegated, but what are your feelings about this?

I think: VfB and Gladbach will fall. Will have to wait and see how Favre does, though. Also I'm not so sure about Wolfsburg and their current coach, it's all one big mess there it seems. Werder hopefully stays in the 1.BL. It will be a shame if any of Stuttgart/Wolfsburg/Bremen would get relegated. :(

Before their comeback against Bayern, 1. FC Köln would have been my top pick for the drop.

But I think that victory has given them spirit which they are riding well.

I think the points they are gathering now will eventually save them.

I'm not a big fan of Labbadia (VfB) or Littbarski (Wolfsburg). However, I can see signs of Wolfsburg starting to gel.

I think Littbarski putting Diego in his place may have worked well for them. Helmes will be eager to show Joachim Löw he should be considered for the German national team.

I also think they will get some scoring from that kid Mbokani.

If I had to make a prediction on the two teams for the direct drop right now, I would agree with you on Gladbach. I think their goal difference is too much to make up.

However, my second team wouldn't be Stuttgart. I think they'll fight back and fight it out with St. Pauli and Bremen to see who winds up in the relegation playoff.

My current second pick for the direct drop is 1. FC Kaiserslautern. I think their magic is gone and their fighting spirit just isn't going to be enough when it is all said and done.

    Really? Why??

Clubs come and go all the time save for Bayern and HSV.

I don't think any club "belongs" in the Bundesliga.

You earn your right to be there every year.

I don't care how deep your tradition is or how many titles you've won.

If you f#ck up and get relegated, then your ass gets relegated.

I remember when people acted as if the Bundesliga would fall apart when clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, 1860 München, Borussia Mönchengladbach and most recently, Hertha BSC Berlin, were all relegated.

Yet the league has gone forward and if anything has gotten nothing but better and better.

This season, I know for me, it is much more pleasant having a story like St. Pauli in the league rather than Hertha.

If someone like Wolfsburg or Stuttgart were to fall, I think they would be very well-replaced by a team like FC Augsburg.

Having Wolfsburg or Stuttgart in the 2. Liga would be freakin' awesome for the fans in that league next season too.

But I think they're going to wind up welcoming back Gladbach and Kaiserslautern.

Two clubs with far more of an argument for "belonging in the Bundesliga" (because of history/tradition) than Wolfsburg.........

Wolfsburg may be a recent Bundesliga champion, but they have as many Bundesliga titles as clubs like Eintracht Braunschweig, 1860 München and 1. FC Nürnberg.

    One.........

And that's one more Bundesliga title than FC Scheisse 04. ;)

I agree that the 2-3 teams that will get relegated, also deserve that. No excuses for them. If the football you play is really that shitty, then it is time to pick up some new momentum from the second league.

The reason why I said it would be shame if any of the "big" clubs were to be relegated didn't have anything to do with tradition etc. I only believe next season they're strong(er) again. But I admit, that's a pretty strong assumption, nothing is taken. I just assume they will pull their act together and start playing some pretty fcking good football again, which would make the league more entertaining. But oh well, it has been very interesting and entertaining this year as well, more interesting than in years actually, literally anyone can beat anyone this season.

Naturally, the 2.BL would receive a touch of extra flavor with an established first league team in there.

Also, the team that finishes 3rd last can end up in a difficult situation. The top third of the 2.BL seem very strong and competitive, they play some really good football. It may be that we have three "Absteigers" this year.

    haha lol

He did. Kraft was even better.

I don't worry myself with that.

How they look on Saturday is what will matter.

"kicker" reports in this article that 1. FC Nürnberg's Julian Schieber will miss at least the next six weeks due to upcoming meniscus surgery.

According to the article, Scheiber suffered a meniscus tear in training.

After consulting with Schieber's actual club VfB Stuttgart, Scheiber will undergo surgery Monday in Augsburg.

FCN's Sport Director Martin Bader said that FCN will do everything it can to help Scheiber return to playing fitness as soon as he can.

never before have a wanted man utd more than any other to win something .. and that is if their interest is true .. the signature of manuel neuer :)

am sick to the back teeth of bayern seemingly thinking hes thiers already and just for being them any player will drop their pants and come running.. and now they seem to be chirping on about on hummels with a underlying smugness..... no doubt sahin will probably pop up again ...

oh come on someone burst that bubble of delusion and myth that what bayern wants she gets :D

That's what they've done all these years. When someone gets the best of them, they try to buy their best players up.

That is exactly how Bayern destroyed Leverkusen in the early 2000's.

Bayern bought the core of that team in Ze Roberto, Lucio and Ballack.

We were the only club to successfully keep Bayern off our stars, but we managed to destroy ourselves.
