Interesting Miguel Julio was with Colombia in the failed 2011, and James, well we all know the story, ummm I also noticed that two players made a difference in sub17 2007: Trellez and Nazarit, both completely off radar.
I'm assuming that Lara didn't take them because by the time World Cup is around they aren't eligible to participate.
NOT THE ONLY ONE.... just few ppl pay attention to their competitions specially since the last fracaso in Peru by lara and lara's lost to many direct rivals in the last WC quals!!!
The coach is Ramiro Viafara, right? I also barely see notices which are relevant for this sub-17, very weird. Hopefully they'll impress much more then the sub-20.
a crappy sub 17 usually translates to a crappy sub 20 as we keep most of the same guys. We had a great sub 17 last time but most of these guys got picked up by teams outside of Colombia which hurt us in the Sudamericana but luckily we are the host of the WC and qualified. I actually like watching the sub 17 but at the same time it kind of sucks because it has much less to do with talent and way more to do with talent. Thats why I think the African teams do so well.... that and they bring a sub 30 to it haha
I'm guessing that he ment to James, Muriel, Wilson Cuero maybe...(btw, why is Cuero wasn't invited by Lara? but that's for another thread...
Colombia debuta frente a Chile en el Suramericano Sub-17 http://www.futbolred.com/otras_comp...nte-a-chile-en-el-suramericano-sub-17/8999965 Can someone mention few players that we should pay more attention? Honestly, I barely know these guys.
The Colombian mentality hits us again: Good first half of the boys vs. Chile, and we wre up 0-2 with goals by Cristian Garces. For the second half it was a different Colombia, a defensive Colombia with horrible keeper (Mosquera) who got Chile back to the game with a huge mistake and also had some blame with their equaliser. Colombia couldn't handle with Chile's set pieces and eventually it ended in a 2-2 draw.
Yeah. It was pretty bad to see a two gol lead die away like that. But it's still the first match. IIRC, we didn't start out very hot in the last two sub 17s either. And this age level is a different game. The 2009 squad got as far as they did almost entirely off of mentality and will power. I didn't like Mosquera jr. either...
the games are all being shown and saved on espn3, if you have access to it. Overall the team looked ok. There were large periods where they couldn't connect more than a couple passes in a row but when they created opportunities their morale really rose. Garces had a golazo and stuck with the play well on his second gol. When the ball came to him things happened, but he wasn't involved too much. Araujo and Palomeque had some great combination on the left and were the most productive part of the team. Salgado, the only guy I've seen in primera, played awful. Alot of them showed decent things but overall noone really stood out. I'd wait a couple more matches before i make my judgments.
