No, there isn't Moritz Leitner. He won't be recalled from Augsburg. Recalling him would show the bench players Klopp doesn't trust them. Don't forget if Bender gets fit and Zidan can't play, da Silva can always move back to central midfield. Central midfield is da Silva's natural position.
As in Kagawa's position, yeah it is... Leitner can back up several positions, if it really comes to that.
Well pretty sure Zidan was the one saying how we are going to have the Bundesliga wrapped in February now, now he can back up that talk and do it himself.
Dude, for the last time, WE DON'T NEED TO RECALL MORITZ LEITNER!! We don't need to call Leitner back prematurely just because Kagawa got injured!! The following is a message I just typed at the 1860 thread. It is relevant for this subject too. ++++++++++++ Unlike many other clubs, we have options on hand. OPTION 1: We still have Mohamed Zidan, who was doing a very good job in that position before he got injured himself last sesaon. OPTION 2: We can still move Mario Götze, who was outstanding on that position against Stuttgart, over to that position for the rest of the season. OPTION 3: We can move Antonio da Silva, who is Sven Bender's backup at the moment, to central midfield. Central midfield is da Silva's natural position. Sebastian Kehl is finally due back soon and he can back up Sven. OPTION 4: We still have Hungarian international central midfielder Tamas Hajnal on our roster. Sure, we're trying to dump him, but until we do, he's still technically an option. But if they consider him, they may as well......... OPTION 5: Go ahead and move Götze to the center and play the soon-to-be fit again Florian Kringe on the right. Again, probably not going to happen, but still preferable to calling back Leitner. OPTION 6: We can always find a cheap, but EXPERIENCED alternative. If they want to buy, Stuttgart's Elson could be an option. But I don't see this happening. Again, we have too many options on hand. I believe I have just clearly shown we don't need Leitner right away. Of all the options I just listed, Klopp is more likely to go with Option 1 or Option 2. The likliest being Option 2. I think Leitner's future with BVB is either going to be at D-Mid or on the right side of midfield. The only way we would even use Leitner on the Bundesliga team next season is if Kehl retires, Sahin leaves or they give up on Kuba for the right side of midfield. To be honest, we wouldn't even really need him if Kehl or Sahin leaves because of the strides Antonio da Silva is making at D-Mid. A decision won't be made on Kuba until the end of the season. If Leitner is impressive enough for FCA, this could be a factor in BVB's decision on what to do with Kuba. Kuba is under contract through 2013, so I don't see him going anywhere unless there is a decent offer. However, I do know fan patience with Kuba is wearing thin. When that happens in Dortmund, usually the patience of the management team isn't far behind. But nothing would happen there before next season. As reported on the 1860 thread, there are rumors that FC Augsburg (FCA) where Leitner is currently loaned, are considering asking BVB to at least extend Leitner's loan. I think BVB can consider allowing Leitner to stay at FCA for another season simply because we can afford to do it. I don't believe it would be good for BVB to call Leitner back just have him sitting on the bench. I feel Moritz Leitner needs to play at the highest level possible. And FCA is a serious promotion contender. I don't know that BVB would extend Leitner's loan at FCA if asked. But I don't see any reason why BVB shouldn't do it. And I most certainly see no reason BVB would pull Leitner back from FCA right now. We just have too many other options. Pulling Leitner back from FCA would more than likely hinder his development more than it would help us in any way. Pulling Leitner back now just doesn't pass the "common sense test........"
If he gets the chance. Klopp will probably stick with Mario Götze in the center and sorry ass Kuba on the right. I just hope Kuba gets his head out of his ass soon. Damnit, Kuba has the talent to be an asset at this time of need. He just needs to show that talent more consistently!
yeah, I have been a fan of Kuba over the past couple of seasons, but am losing patience with him lately too, but it is true, he does have the potential to really dominate the wing with his speed, agility and dribbling skills. He is starting to look a little one dimensional though, sort of like Odonkor (just speed and not much else)....So is Barrios starting this weekend? I don't know about this game, i'm 50-50 about our chances, we have a pretty decent record against 'em but as cliche as it is records don't count for much come game day, I seriously hope Zidan will be able to play some role in the match.
According to a Japanese fan on the e-mail list, this is the second time he's suffered such an injury. We know that sometimes, once an athlete breaks a foot, it seems to happen more often. I was hoping they would send him to the US or Japan for surgery, but it seems they're going to do it here in Germany. But at least BVB is being cautious and not trying to rush him back.
i do hope he doesnt .. isnt out as long as kringe is/was.. with his 2nd break @ keith would u rate braun and his team as good as outside specialists elsewhere or is braun as good as any in germany ? prob my over active imagination (see i covered myself).. but our players seem to be out longer with injuries than others even little knocks turn into nagging injuries that last ages ... the modern times of the game or bad medical advice
The difference between Kagawa and Kringe is that Kringe tried to rush back to help Hertha BSC. BVB will do no such thing with Kagawa. This is why BVB announced Kagawa would be out for the rest of the season before he was even examined in Dortmund. When it comes to Kagawa, BVB is already planning for next season. He's one of the best in the Bundesliga. However, no, he isn't as good as any in Germany. But don't worry about anything. Braun doesn't do the surgeries on the players. BVB sends them to specialists for the actual surgeries. Dr. Braun usually just observes and reports back to the club. You're imagining things.......
The club is reporting that Shinji Kagawa has had successful surgery on his foot in Tokyo. No word yet on how long his recovery will take.
That is good news. They have great docs out there in Japan. Here' shoping he is 100% come next season. Several months for sure, we just have to hope for no complications.
Nuri Sahin didn't play for Turkey today against South Korea due to an injury. Does anyone know how serious it is?
There is now. He'll be out two weeks with a slight tear in a muscle group near his spine. He should be all right. Kuba is hoping to be fit to play in the Bayern match.
