i did laugh when he said , "sigo al toluca desde que tenia 14 anos", but Cardozo, Vicente sanches, Jose maria uruguayo, Abundis, was a great team.

this is a good choice for him in sense that toluca has alot of patience with their players and work based on a projects and that can only make a player better when they arrive to teams like this.

Ayovi's missed shot is the reason Toluca lost today. Incredible miss it was embarrassing. He owes Toluca 3 pts.

Wow...and for a moment, it seemed like Suarez was the only Ecua that wasn't yet cutting it in Mexico.

they're all cutting it from my point of view. Even Jaime Ayovi who only has 3 goals and has games where he doesn't particpate much. He's quiet in the majority of the games but today he had 2 where he could have scored and only one of them ended up being a goal. If you would have seen his missed you would have broke your TV. He's too lonely up front in Toluca I don't see people like Rojas and Biglieri or Marcos Caicedo feeding him any nice passes and setting him up. He's just waiting there most of the time doing nothing.

I saw that! He kicked it like a rookie. But hey he's getting better. It won't be long til he scores numerous braces and several hat tricks for Toluca.

WTF? Suarez had two legit goals called back and hit the post three times. With more luck, he should be leading scorer in Mexico right now. i guess I'm the only one who ever liked this kid.... He has "LA Pinta de Goleador". One thing is for sure. You will never see Benitez score a goal like the first goal suarez had.. and the second one, Benitez would have tried to go around the goalie which makes me want to punch him in the mouth.

pinta de goleador lol he's a talented individual but
he's no goleador. I'm gonna assume you haven't seem his games last season in El Nacional. If anyone remembers Pinto and I think even Mario Saralegui sent this kid to play with the reserves because of the numerous mamadas he'd have every weekend til they got tired of it. He was heavily criticized last yr for
all those easy shots he missed...but I guess it was "bad luck".

Do you really want me to start naming "MAMADAS" That Ecuadorian strikers have had in History? Please, We'll be here all day... What, You didn't get enough MAMADAS the other day from Joao Rojas and jaime Ayovi? Or how about LAS MAMADAS from benitez during last Qualifiers.. If it wasn't for the horrible Ref. Suarez would be top scorer in a league that most of you claim is world class or top 10. We'll find out if he's a goleador or not real quick.. Time will tell..

I don't claim the mexican league is world class. And I know Suarez should have 2 goals added to his name. Suarez reminds me of Benitez from the previous Qualifier, but the problem here is that Suarez is 25 years old (older than Benitez) and doesn't show the progress that I think Benitez has had in the last months. I don't know what will happen this Qualifier with our forwards but I have a feeling that Benitez and Caicedo won't be the same guys we all saw last time. I may be wrong, but the truth is they have both improved throughout the last year. When was the last time anyone said Benitez scored 5 goals in 3 games for the NT? No matter who the rival was, he'd never do that a while back.

Even Felipe Caicedo. A year ago and even before that everyone had given up on him. I thought he'd be back in Rocafuerte this time around and now he's the top goal scorer of Levante and one of the top 3 or 4 south american leading goal scorers in La Liga. Felipe hasn't been part of the NT since Rueda has taken charge but he'll be back soon and we'll see what he brings to the table this time around.

The NT still needs to be put to a REAL test against several top teams not just one. And then we'll see what these guys can really do.

To be honest, I've only seen Ayovi a handful of times, but he strikes me as a true "poacher". His job is scoring goals, plain and simple. So I don't really expect him to be too involved in the build-up play, but when he gets the ball in the box, he seems to be pretty clinical. Like I said, I've only seen him play maybe 7-8 games, but he's scored in about 5 of them that I can remember, which is not a bad stat.

I've always thought that our NT needs a poacher, we have too many guys with nice dribbling skills that like to get involved in the playmaking. But against teams that play 9-man defense against us in Quito, and when we need a goal with 20 minutes left, we need a guy like Ayovi who understands his role, knows how to find space in the box and anticipates where the ball is going to go, so he can get there first.

A forwards job is to score...plain and simple. And Ayovi has done so (if only for a season and change). Ayovi is not a playmaker, the playmaking should really fall on wingers and attacking midfielders. Some ppl compare him to Tin Delgado, but I dont think the comparison is accurate. On top of being a scorer, he was also a playmaker in the box. Had we had a poacher, theres no doubt in my mind we would have been in the WC.

the only REAL mamada i've seen him have since i've watched him play was this past weekend vs. Necaxa. That was one open shot I thought Jaime Ayovi would never miss. But besides that, I'm with you. I think the past qualifier our forwards got TOO involved in play making because they have the talent to do so unlike our last great striker which was el Tin. I still have hopes on him as much as Marlon De Jesus, Edson Montano, and Walter Chala. It's gonna take time but at least one if not all of them is gonna end up being a really important player for the NT within the next 4 years or so.

but if we're talkin Cristian Suarez...it's too late to wait for a 25 year old.
