I know he was injured before the final but congrats to Shinji for Japan winning the Asian cup. I know he wasn't there but it was nice to see his teammates holding up his jersey during the celebration. Now get healed up and come on stronger for next season.

That's cool. We hope he's able to make it back to Dortmund in May. ;)

FCK Takes Czech Midfielder Adam Hlousek On Loan From Slavia Prague

FCK Boss Stefan Kuntz said of Hlousek:

"In Adam Hlousek we have added more quality to our offensive game. He is a fast, young and hungry player who wants to develop in the Bundesliga. We are convinced he can help us reach our goals."

The 22-year old has played 69 Czech top division matches for FK Jablonec and Slavia Prague. Hlousek has 3 appearances for Czech Republic's national team.

At club level, he has one goal in 10 UEFA European Cup (CL & EL) appearances.

FCK does have a buy option for Hlousek.

    ++++++++++++++++

Scheisse 04 has signed scrubs Angelos Charisteas and Ali Karimi.

Apparently, they are not selling Jefferson Farfan even though I'll bet they still do before the end of the day.

    +++++++++++++++++

VfL Wolfsburg has signed a young South Korean and a young Venezuelan player. They are also on the verge of getting Patrick Helmes from Bayer Leverkusen for 8M Euros. They are also said to have signed Turkish international Tuncay from Stoke City. No word on Tuncay's transfer fee.

Update on the Köln fax debacle.

"Bild" is reporting that 1. FC Köln is indeed appealing to the DFB to allow the transfer of Eric Maxim Chupo-Moting to Köln from HSV.

The DFL thinks there will be a decision by Friday.

New 1. FC Köln Sport Director Volker Finke said, "1. FC Köln is hoping for a positive outcome."

perfect example of a guy..you hate to play against..but love to play with....

Been discussing on the Bayern boards. More action there.

Torres to Chelsea: No shock. And once again, Chelsea shows they have no intention of ever getting the football program back to where it stands on its own.

Carroll to Liverpool: The biggest joke I've seen in ages. I don't think that guy is worth half of what he went for. But for the idiots in the LFC fan base this will probably be Roy Hodgson's fault too. Or maybe they'll blame Hicks and Gillett some more.....

    Suarez to Liverpool: Good deal.

Andy Carroll's move from Newcastle to Liverpool not only brings a new club and new challenges for the young striker, it'll also bring new living arrangements. In Newcastle, Carroll was court-ordered to live with club captain Kevin Nolan and his family as a condition of his bail for charges of assaulting a former girlfriend. Nolan made Carroll stick to a strict curfew and read bedtime stories to his kids. But now that he's in Liverpool, we imagine Carroll moving in with his new club's skipper, Steven Gerrard. The following is a transcript of their conversation on the matter.

    Carroll: Hello? Anybody home?

Gerrard: Yeah, I'm in the kitchen drinking some lemonade and reading about dinosaurs.

Carroll: Oh, hey Steven. Thanks again for having me.

Gerrard: I know you're thankful. I'm glad everything worked out how I planned. Last week I was talking to the board at Liverpool because they ask me to make all their most important decisions for them and I was like, "Yeah, we should sell Torres to Chelsea for £50 million and then buy Andy Carroll for £35 million and then pretend like we want Charlie Adam too, but just as a joke." And they were like, "Oh Steven Gerrard, that's a great idea -- you should have more kids so there are more people with your smarts in their heads." And I was like "..." and they were like "..."

Carroll: Uh. Right. So is your family OK with me moving in?

Gerrard: Yeah, I didn't tell my wife yet because we usually just say "I love you" and then stare at each other for a really long time, but when I told my daughters, they were like, "Oh Steven Gerrard, that's going to be so much fun. We have no idea who Andy Carroll is but we're sure he's a great lad who never assaults people and probably knows a lot about fashion." And I was like, "Liverpool loves me so much that they'll probably build a statue of me where I'm half man, half horse when I retire." And they were like, "Do you mean a centaur?" And I was like "..." and they were like "..."

Carroll: Right. Well, at Kev's house I read stories to his kids and had loads of fun with them, so I'd be happy to do the same with your girls if you- wait, your daughters call you Steven Gerrard?

Gerrard: Did you read them the one I just made up about the happy Scouse mushroom who was really good at football?

    Carroll: Uh, no.

Gerrard: Well you should've. It's a great story and it'll probably win all the book awards and get added to the Bible.

Carroll: OK. So are there any house rules I should know?

Gerrard: Yeah, there's a bunch. I was just telling Glen Johnson my house rules the other day. I was like, "If Phil Collins ever stays at my house I'm going to have him play Sussudio for me live and let me sing the part where he goes 'oh Sussudio.'" And Glen was like, "Oh Steven Gerrard that's the greatest house rule ever. I'll probably get it tattooed on my body after I cut my hair so I can look more like you." And I was like, "I'm going to have Andy Carroll live with me so I can show him how to be the second greatest footballer and have him taste all my signature dishes." And he was like "..." and I was like "..."

Carroll: Right. So are there any house rules for me, or just for Phil Collins?

Gerrard: There are house rules for you and you'll hear them if you stop asking so many questions. The first and only rule for you is that you have to give me cupcakes. Now which bag are they in?

    Carroll: ...

    Gerrard: ...

Carroll: I didn't know I was supposed to bring cupcakes. But I'll go get you some.

    Gerrard: Yes!

Suarez is outstanding and will thrive in EPL...love his positioning...movement...and overall aggressive 'tude to move forward

But agree Carroll - although a promising big striker...35 mil quid is just ridiculous...it makes the Crespo signing years back look like a bargain....

    I agree.

I still can't get over that price.

And when these current owners run out of money after multiple stupid signings, they'll get the blame too......

    From the General Discussion thread

No I totally sympathise with where you're coming from, and I usually would never recommend it.

I just had to be true to my feelings here, and since when and where I watched them on TV when I was young I didnt know any Juve fans and Juve were of course in a separate competition to us I admired their play. It was really annoying to get beaten by them a lot in the cup so it made the win in the final even better. So I would never buy their shirt, but I couldn't go with a France, Bordeaux or Real Madrid shirt for Zidane, it had to be a Juventus one because that's where I saw him do amazing stuff as a kid.

Wow....Leverkusen and Bayern BOTH lost. Bayern was actually in 2nd place at one point leading Koeln by 2 goals to 0 when Nurnberg scored against Leverkusen making it 1-0, the final result. Koeln then tied it while Bayern fell to 4th place and surprisingly, Koeln scored a 3rd to win the match taking all points away from Bayern leaving them 5th. Hannover 96 won their matche while Mainz allowed Bremen to make a 90 minute 1-1 comeback courtesy of Pizarro.

    1. BVB--------51
    2. Leverkusen-39
    3. Mainz------39
    4. Hannover---37
    5. Bayern-----36

This result also put Koeln ahead of Bremen, who tied Mainz leaving Bremen in the relegation zone on equal points with Koeln but with a less favorable GD.

    Crazy Bundesliga - CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Sorry, Bremen's equalizer actually has them in 13th spot with a point above Koeln.

I CAN'T F#CING BELIEVE IT ALMOST ALL WENT OUR WAY!!!

    LEVERKUSEN LOST!

    BAYERN LOST!!

    MAINZ DREW!!!

Of the teams between us and Bayern, only Hannover won and they only won because of the Benalgio howler and Diego missing a penalty!!

Our lead is now 12 points over Leverkusen, 14 over Mainz and Hannover and 15 OVER BAYERN!!!

Last night and even this afternoon, I thought the chasing pack was going to pull us back toward them.

Now, we've GAINED A POINT on almost all of them!!

Who can deny that things are really going our f#cking way??!! LOL!!! :D

The way we have been playing, I still think it is a blessing in disguise that they did knock us out.

I don't think we could be handling two fronts right now, Heck, we are having a hard time with just the BL right now.
