Wow! Crawley Town have made history! Its the first non league side in 17 yrs to have made it to the fifth round of the FA Cup http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/9379079.stm
Crawley town were drawn against Man U in the 5th round!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/9381487.stm
That's so great for a non-league team. It's looking very likely that Crawley will go up to League 2 this year, and are finally entering a period of financial stability. I hope they give Man Utd a run for their money, and even though they'll almost definitely lose, it'll give them a nice pay day and some good exposure. I like it when the little guys do well like this. I hope they and AFC Wimbledon come up out of the Conference this year.
Yeah i hope they give Man U a good fight! and there is nothing better than seeing underdogz do good! Wish them the best of luck
The genius of the F.A. Cup at work.....don't be suprised if Ferguson plays his "reserve" team...gets taken to the wire and maybe wins a tight one....
The draw's gotta be rigged. I seriously doubt this could be a coincidence considering the backstory's of these two clubs (one being top of the table in the premier league, one being the last team left from conference national) and the fact that this game happens to be at Manchester instead of Crawley.
Crawley would want it that way....they get 1/2 the gate receipts which figure to be a tad more than if they had been drawn at home...
By financial stability I assume you mean having money pumped into the club a la Chelsea? They spent £250k on one player in January - we're trying to get into the Premier League and that would signify a fairly substantial outlay for us. Plus there's Steve Evans, a thoroughly detestable man who should never have been given another job in football after his behaviour at Boston.
I'd never have thought I'd ever want Man Utd to beat a non-League team in the FA Cup but Crawley are a very nasty club and their manager is worse. If you want to know why then read this article, it explains it far better than I could. http://twofootedtackle.com/fa-cup/why-many-neutrals-wont-be-cheering-on-crawley-in-the-fa-cup/
Interesting story but well even if the teams administrators and coach are bad people doesnt mean that the players are,but lets see what happens in that game
Well played Crawley.Really exciting in 2cnd Half. You took it to Man U right till the end and almost pulled off a spectacular draw.Well Done
Well ManU won but i was suprised to see how difficult Crawley made the game for Manchester http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/9401072.stm
