I'm listing the 20 most successful football clubs in the world considering the sum of their intercontinental and continental titles. Some strong clubs like Liverpool, Cruzeiro, Corinthians, Arsenal, Chelsea and others stayed out because of the small quantity of intercontinental titles wich demonstrate that they need to prove something more when playing against clubs from other continents. I hope you can enjoy it. The list: 1. Milan (Italy), 4 intercontinental titles and 7 continental titles, 2. Real Madrid (Spain), 3 intercontinental titles and 9 continental titles, 3. Boca Juniors (Argentina), 3 intercontinental titles and 6 continental titles, 4. Penarol (Uruguay), 3 intercontinental titles and 5 continental titles, 5. Internazionale (Italy), 3 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles, - São Paulo (Brazil), 3 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles, - Nacional (Uruguay), 3 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles, 8. Independiente (Argentina), 2 intercontinental titles and 7 continental titles, 9. Bayern Munchen (Germany), 2 intercontinental titles and 4 continental titles, - Ajax (Netherlands), 2 intercontinental titles and 4 continental titles, 11. Manchester United (England), 2 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles, 12. Porto (Portugal), 2 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles, - Juventus (Italy), 2 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles, - Santos (Brazil), 2 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles, 15. Estudiantes (Argentina), 1 intercontinental titles and 4 continental titles, 16. Barcelona (Spain), 1 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles - Olimpia (Paraguay), 1 intercontinental titles and 3 continental titles, 18. Internacional (Brazil), 1 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles, - River Plate (Argentina), 1 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles, - Grêmio (Brazil), 1 intercontinental titles and 2 continental titles. Best regards!
all you are trying to do like every bostero en el mundo is hide your lack of success in your own loeague
I disagree. As long as you qualify for the Liberators Cup, your league campaign was a success. The continental and world titles is where it's at. His list was spot on.
You wish. You have to win the CL just to play for the Intercontinental Cup. You can't use titles available only to Euro clubs to compare clubs worldwide.
Teams don't care for the Intercontinetal Cup. Back in the 1970s some even decline to participate (Ajax, Bayern, Liverpool)
This explains why so many people watch and write about the Club World Cup, especially compared the Champions' League. There is a reason why The UEFA CL is considered by many to be the premier competition, whether we are talking club or international football.
Sorry man but my club, Sao Paulo, is the third biggest brazilian champion with 6 titles. and diferently of any other national league in the world we have 12 big clubs wich make from the brazilian national league the most dificult championship the be played. Argentina: Boca Juniors, River Plate Spain: Barcelona, Real Madrid Italy: Juventus, Internazionale, Milan France: Lyon Germany: Bayern Munchen England: Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea Brazil: Gremio, Internacional, Sao Paulo, Santos, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Atletico-MG, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense and Botafogo. Thats because the size of the country for sure.
I agree... CL and Libertadores is both more important than intercontinental cup but the intercontinental cup is the extension of the CL and Libertadores Cup titles. So they are more difficult because you need to won the CL or Libertadores to have the chance to play the Intercontinental Cup. Is the next level competition for the Libertadores or Champions League.
I'm not sure of that. The fact of those teams declined to participate doesn't means that all the rest think the same. If you enter in the milan website you'll see how much they care about the intercontinental cup. The same for the real madrid, internazionale...
So basically the only teams who care are the minority who take it seriously? It might have been a big deal way back then but it is a meaningless competition and a major inconvenience now. The only people who care are South American fans who like to grasp at anything to promote football in their country. Times have changed. Accept it and move on.
That is amazing, considering I am not even from Europe. Yep. There is Big Ears and then there is everything else.
Your point is debatable - Boca and River, I would add Independiente as well, are bigger than any of the Brazilian clubs you've listed.
Teso... I already participate of other topics with you... and you are probably the most euro biased person on this forum. Sorry man. Second... you are not talking about the subject. The subject is: the 20 most successful football clubs in the world
bah! I'm done. I don't know why I insist. This will be my last post on this dumbest topic. Please any adm, delete this topic please. The 20 most successful football clubs in the world 1) Real Madrid, 2) Manchester United, 3) Milan, 4) Bayern Munchen, 5) Barcelona, 6) Liverpool, 7) Internazionale, 8) Chelsea, 9) Arsenal, 10) Juventus, 11) Lyon, 12) Ajax, 13) Porto, 14) Benfica, 15) Marseille, 16) Roma, 17) Atletico de Madrid 18) Borussia Dortmund 19) Newcastle 20) Celtic That's it!
No, it's not a dumb topic just some dumb posters. Here's my list, taking a look at international/intercontinental championships and league titles: Boca Juniors Real Madrid AC Milan River Plate Independiente Avellaneda Liverpool Penarol Ajax Bayern Munich Nacional (Montevideo) Barcelona Sao Paolo Manchester United Juventus Estudiantes de la Plata Inter Milan Olimpia Porto Gremio Santos Benfica Colo Colo
You forgot the Real Madrid of South America, Independiente. 7 Copa Libertadores is not bad. Also, you forgot the remaining members of Argentina's Big Five (Racing and San Lorenzo), plus Estudiantes and the recent rise of Velez.
This is my ranking. Not strictly based on the number of trophies. 1. Real Madrid (Spain) 2. AC Milan (Italy) 3. Boca Juniors (Argentina) 4. Liverpool (England) 5. Bayern Munich (Germany) 6. River Plate (Argentina) 7. FC Barcelona (Spain) 8. Juventus FC (Italy) 9. Santos FC (Brazil) 10. Independiente (Argentina) 11. Inter Milan (Italy) 12. SL Benfica (Portugal) 13. Sao Paolo (Brazil) 14. Manchester United (England) 15. Nacional (Uruguay) 16. Ajax FC (Holland) 17. Penarol (Uruguay) 18. Estudiantes (Argentina) 19. Arsenal (England) 20. Torino FC (Italy)
That is a ridiculous statement to make. I am discussing the topic but doing so by ridiculing your criteria.
1. Chivas Guadalajara 2. Penarol 3. AC Milan 4. Bayern Munich 5. Real Madrid 6. Manchester United 7. FC Porto 8. Ajax 9. Boca Juniors 10. Nacional ( Ur ) 11. Club America 12.
