I guess you didn't realize that was an own goal and they actually lost because of it?

Or did you realize it afterwards and that's why you haven't posted since?

When I made the post, it was halftime & the score was 0-0. Like I posted previously, I would be happy w/ a draw. Oh well, still in 14th place. All I want this season is to remain in the Bundesliga. Then get stronger next season. This season is all about survival. Also, I don't like to make consecutive posts when no one else replies. I don't replying to my own posts  This is a discussion board.

mid-season report :D 1/2 way to the 40 points that I think will ensure #1FCK survival in the Bundesliga. Nice win on the road today. Now for the winter break.

I hope not. I guess it depends if #1FCK can resign Lakić. I believe his contract is up at the end of the season. Also, if Wolfsburg sells Edin Džeko first, then a deal might be in the books. BTW, I wonder how Erik Jendrišek is doing these days? I bet he wishes he didn't got to schiess ;)

Sorry to be the one to inform you, but the chances of Lakic being a FCK player next season are about the same as a snowball's chance in hell.

If his second half of this season is anywhere near as good as the first half, he'll write his own ticket.

Funny. That's what the rumors and speculation here say.

    Wow.......

He's much richer for doing much less.

He may not be playing, but you can bet your ass he doesn't miss Kaiserslautern.

He consoles himself by checking his bank account.

But, if a Lakic deal happens in January, I can see Jendrisek returning on loan......

Bro, it's only logical. Remember it was only a couple of weeks ago that Wolfsburg was @ Die Betze. Just call me Spock in the Box ;)

It's been pretty quiet in here. I guess I could provide an update. Die Roten Teufel have just completed their training in Spain. This week Die Roten Teufel will travel to Düsseldorf to take part in the Stadtwerke Düsseldorf Wintercup. Fortuna Düsseldorf, der FC St. Pauli and Borussia Mönchengladbach will be participating in this tourny. The regular season begins next week.

Extremely harsh redcard for lakic today..thought ilicevic was really good in the second half..tifferts creativity was sorely missed today..

Yeah I think the red card was an absolute joke.

That's why he only got a one match suspension.

In most cases, when you see the DFB only hand out a one-match suspension for a straight red card, it is them pretty much admitting the ref got it wrong.

So why even get a one match ban when its obvious the ref made a mistake? The player should not be punished when he does not deserve to be punished..Kaiserslautern not not only loses there best goal scorer for a good portion of there last game but now lose him in the next game as well..For a club in a relegation battle ever game is huge..

According to another FCK fan I know, the DFB used to overturn wrongful red cards, but caught flak from FIFA about it.

Since then, it seems when they feel a red card is undeserved, they just give out a one-match suspension.

It seems in this type of situation, FIFA is all about protecting the officials and not the integrity of the game.

Or maybe they think they are doing just that. Maybe they feel referee errors are part of the game's integrity.

Don't ask me to explain the DFB and FIFA.

95% of the time, no one can do this......

They have rescinded red cards in England too.

The English FA doesn't bow before FIFA the way the DFB does.

If the English FA did, they might have gotten the 2018 World Cup. ;)

Anyone able to watch the match vs. bayscum??? From the stats, it appears #1FCK is out playing bayscum w/ 8(3 on goal) shots vs. 3(3 on goal), but bayscum scores in the 45th:( Hopefully Die Roten Teufel can maintain their composure & get that goal back. I would gladly take a point away from this fixture.

Stats can sometimes lie as you saw by the final score.

Well it was going to be really hard for Kaiser to keep Lakic considering the great year is having..I think its a good move for Lakic..

I think Wolfsburg could have done better and probably will in the summer.

I think Lakic's people didn't think this through.

I'm not saying Lakic should have stayed in Kaiserslautern, but I think he's going to face the same fate Erik Jendrisek did.

At the time Jendrisek decided to move to Schalke 04, he had a very good chance at playing.

One Raul signing later and Jendrisek never saw the pitch. He's in Freiburg now and only there because Cisse got hurt.

I'm sorry, but common sense tells me VfL Wolfsburg is not going to replace Edin Dzeko with Srdjan Lakic.

I'm fairly certain Wolfsburg is going to get someone else this summer.

I'm afraid Lakic will wind up a third striker at best next season.

Of course, I could be wrong, but this is the way I see it going......

The crazy thing is the fact that we know Wolfsburg got paid for Dzeko. I don't see where Lakic is getting any of that. I guess he just wanted a change of scenery.

Of course he's going to get paid more, but I get the feeling Lakic really believes he's going to get a chance to be one their top strikers.

I get the feeling Lakic is going to wind up sitting behind Grafite, Mario Mandzukic and probably Patrick Helmes.

Just like Jendrisek wound up sitting at Scheisse.

I guess will see..I think Mandzukic is more talented but is a poor finisher compared to Lakic..Grafite is there best goal scorer but is lazy..Helmes i havent seen play so i cant say anything about him..Frankly nobody was going to replace Dzeko as top class strikers are very difficult to find..Lakic is having a career year and deserved a better club and salary..
