Let's hope we can give the Asprin team another headache this season. Three wins in this Derby would be great. Talk about it here. Note that Kicker is also now reporting Sunderland's interest in Bradley. We shall see what happens.
They are coming to BORUSSIA PARK with a defeat in their opener against BVB, Am sure they would throw everything at us to to stay in the race not to mention the back to back defeats against gladbach this season.....so they have too many reasons NOT to play conservative..this can play in our advantage and be our path to another 3 points...or better say our first 3 points at home! Should be a very interesting game...we just need to be very smart and not shoot ourselves in the feet www.fotobahn.com
Dante may be back for this game too. He was testing his knee with the U-23's in a friendly vs MSV Duisburg, today, I think.
Ya i saw that earlier today, not to get carried away too much...but dante added to stranzl and nordveit really promises a very solid back-field with a good dose of creativity as well...teams with such players in their back-field that are not only solid "D-men" but can also contribute to technical play making along with scoring goals are the teams that always go to distance...lets not jinx this...but with dante back ..we might see a very versatile Defensive unit www.fotobahn
I read the recap and it looks like he had a decent game. I would still hold him out for one game more, just to ensure he's recovered and does not get hurt again by coming back too sooon.
+1 Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope MF & our physio understands this simple concept! Dante not playing on sunday will not effect the team, but if he walks on and something goes wrong...then we have lost BIG!
I agree. The recap on Borussia.de is 100% positive of course, but I also read a report of a fan in a forum that Dante was at fault at Duisburg's winning goal (borussia.de didn't say anything about the goal). Let's give him some more practice and minutes with the U23 before he gets back on the field for the first team; the back line looked pretty solid against Nürnberg without him, no need to hurry.
its probably not a good thing for gladbach that leverkusen lost last week. they will do everything to ensure that they do not lose two in a row. despite that, and a terrible record at home so far this year, i believe that gladbach can get a result in this one. my prediction is a score draw. considering how well the defence did in the last match, there is no need to rush dante back as others have said. although i think eventually, we will see dante-stranlz at the back with nordtveit on the bench (although he will see more playing time in midfield if bradley leaves).
I really don't care about such things anymore (as I often did before). Nearby it's maybe not so bad for us that they are without any title chances after their home defeat... We have to finally start winning at home, no matter of the opponent and certain circumstances. And we've already beaten them twice this season (although we have been without home win - the Cup doesn't count for stats - against them for many, many years), so why not for a 3rd time? Let's not forget that they have to replace Friedrich & Barnetta ... and who knows, maybe Don Jupp shows his BMG heart by making some tactical mistakes. Surely a very tough game, but so are all remaining ones! There's 16 "Endspiele" left for us ... and we probably need winning 7 of them in order to secure spot 16 (that's the maximum I can see us reaching in the end).
Make no mistake, of course each and every game in the 2nd half of our season is like a final and they all have 3 points...but from a moral stand-point and in order to give our boys the right mind-set to really fly out towards the rest of the season with 100% commitment ...this game is like a launching platform for the rest of the season...from a numbers point of view might night make sense..but the psychology of the game is important..we covered 50% of it in the opener and started off in the right path the other 50% will completed in the up-coming game..a win would also clear our heads regarding getting the 1st win of the season at BORUSSIA PARK which has turned into an impossible task...so id say this game is a bit more important than the other 15-16 www.fotobahn.com
Just got aware of the fact that Leverkusen is the only unbeaten team on the road. Well, we're the only team without home victory ... so it's really high time for a change, isn't it? Damn, when did we manage to win our last home match in the league??? Must have been the Eintracht game in April 2010. Although I know about the toughness of this game, I'm going to bet some Oddset money on a home win (usually, I don't bet on BMG matches) ... since this is actually the perfect moment for finally collecting all 3 points at Borussia-Park in my eyes. I hope the team won't disappoint me and all the other fans. Have a nice day/evening.
I think you should take another hike in the woods and nature with your GF on sunday....seems like a good omen for us..just for this vital game..if u go and we win..ill promise to send you a nice BOX of smoked Salmon from canada..which needless to say is the best in the world...and its sweet as candy...do we have a deal uwe?? www.fotobahn.com
Ok, the deal is done! Btw: Have a guess against which club Mike Hanke scored the most goals during his BL career (so far)? Hopefully he'll remember his last goal against Leverkusen ... and do it again.
Hahahaha..knew you couldnt resist the delicious salmon..however i need a posting address...so lets hope for both of us..we will lit borussia park up with 3 points come sunday
The transfer chatter on some of the blogs I check have certainly died down. I wonder if this was a case of his name coming up in a random list of names for Sunderland. As far as starting, the team played well last week, and many mangers like to go with the "hot hand." It will be interesting to see what happens. Getting results is the key thing.
Both VFB and the goat herders collected points today....this relegation battle has started off with such intensity that leaves no space for error one bit www.fotobahn.com
I have to confess , our biggest problem has not been fixed yet.Even with 2 new and experienced Defensive players and the come-back of dante to the starting line-up..we are still conceiving extremely easy goals. For some reason this coaching staff & group of players have a huge problem of correcting this issue! I mean both goals specially the second one...where absolutely controllable , good luck pulling out of such big holes when sitting rock bottom
Tough loses, but we are still just a couple of wins from getting out of the relegation zone. The problem is those wins seem to be really tough to come by
yup, very disappointing result today. at least the team always look like scoring a goal, which gives hope that this situation can be turned around. i think bradley has to come back in for the next game. de camargo also looks like he might have picked up a serious injury?
Yeah, I doubt we'll see De Camargo again any time soon. Well, if we depend on the striker talent of Karim Matmour... no wonder we might look like scoring, but don't really manage to do it in the end.
In last 3 seasons, Matmour has scored 4 goals with the 124 shots he has taken. Basically, the kind of strike rate where defenders give him space to shoot so their team can get the resulting goal kick.
After Bobadilla's departure, DeCamargo's injury blow is exactly what we needed now! We must be really cursed this season ... especially when looking at the home game from Sunday. Hitting the bar, then conceding an incredible free-kick goal, missing a huge chance to score the 2:2 after the interval, then conceding the 1:3 just seconds later (reminds me of the Bremen & HSV matches). It seems the luck from Nuremberg was only an exception. But you also have to enforce the fortune ... and we often suck at doing it at Borussia-Park! Still no home win (simply depressing when knowing that we always collected most points at home in the past) and already 50 goals conceded (the 2nd & 3rd goal - wtf. do we finally learn how to play on offside?? - show that Dante, Stranzl & Nordtveit aren't saviours either) ... my hope is getting slimmer from matchday to matchday, especially when having a manager who I can't really trust anymore (for many weeks) due to certain weird decisions in most games and his helpless after-game statements. The next 3 games against Frankfurt, Stuttgart & St. Pauli will be decisive. If we lose or draw in Frankfurt (what I expect) while there's a winner between Pauli & Cologne, our chances will get minimal. But well, you don't deserve better with this horrible home bilance... Gute N8 PS: Sensational goal from Martin Stranzl! Unfortunately, it doesn't count much.
