Looking for translation help (which usually means UnePomme - sorry if you have read this before, or if I am wrong that it is not interesting)

There is a new video collection (well it is new to me, but it is the same Go-Go, his 002 directory was shit down by YouTube for multiple copyright infirngements of a Japanese TV channel, so this is his 003 collection) - and while the particular video is not interesting, one of the links is:

    http://news.nifty.com/cs/magazine/detail/sptv-20100610-05/1.htm

The google-translate of the heading reads: "Nadeshiko Japan - Goals - and tears - Nozomi Sawa Minoru continuing burden of solitude and light the light captain" - and of course right now it is Miyama, not Sawa, who is Captain, and will apparently for the World Cup.

Apart from what she felt as Captain, there appears to have been some team discussion (exactly like the discussions on this board !!) after the Australia defeat about who should the GK be, and google-translate gives:

"Fukumoto (Miho) to buy out the role of GK in both fixed positioning for the starting lineup" (which just shows it doesnt really work !)

Well that did not happen in the last game v China, and Miho was not chosen as one of two GKs later in the year for the Asian Games.

    After the China game:

"Standing alone in the darkness ahead and walked the street looking for a companion 灯Subeku the lights. Temporary suffered the loneliness and burden."

So, looking for help, what was all this about ?

In the Asian Cup, in which Japan had expected to win its title, Australia beat Japan in the semifinal.
Before the critical game against China, Sawa felt bogged down.
She decided to talk with Yamago and mentally somewhat recovered.

In the next day training, Yamago and Fukumoto helped the starting members to adjust the positionings of set piece situations.

After the Beijing Olympic, veterans who had been playing with Sawa for long, had retired, so Sawa, who was not so talkative, faced the hardness of the captain's role and struggled alone.

At last she got such an answer.
She slightly had tears in her eyes when her teammates welcomed her with smiles after the victory.

Thanks UnePomme !!! We should give you an honorary title, Une Pomme de Terre - literally this means Apple-of-the-Earth - but do you know what it really means ? Well it is nothing special, sorry, but maybe a little interesting.

But thanks as always. Obviously the google-translate was suggesting proposals about Miho as GK that did not happen. I did think the article had described the GK blunder (remember it?) in its first few lines.

Well it seems that Sawa feels "cut off" from the team by a sort of generation gap, except maybe for Yamago (who I think is older than her). I remember growing up in Europe how people are "stratified" by age, and I suspect the effect is as great, and perhaps greater, in Japan (it is much less so in the USA). I wonder if she asked not to be Captain for the World Cup ? It seems likely.

Anyway, it is a nice story, almost unique, and very different from the usual stuff. Thanks again.

Wow that is amazing progress Kyra ! It makes your blog all the more valuable, knowing that comments can be seen in the Beleza fan community.

Looking at your blog, I see in the recent Rumi interview posting (in her Profile page) that she also seems to refer to Sawa speaking with Yamago before the vital China game.

And this page is really great ! Did she get to see it, for sure ?

And this is great too - nice photo, Rumi in cold Japan and is that Kinga behind her ? ............. although my tip is this - at the bottom of the page, remove the cyber-space stuff, because all 22 year-old girls are so "face" sensitive - do no touch the subject ! She will stop talking to you.....

Some article says that Sawa moves to Inac, and Ohno, Minamiyama and Kinga will leave Beleza.

All of them seem to move to INAC Kobe.
This may be due to the Verdy's financial crisis.

Wow ! This is a google/translate version but the meaning of everything is clear. Also I see that Mai (already I forget her last name, sorry !) retired just two weeks ago.

Is INAC close by ? Both are in Tokyo ? Over at INAC it is bad news for 4 players who will be squeezed out now.

I feel bad for Sawa, one of the world's great players these last several years, what a way to be treated.

Not easy to be in women's soccer, USA or Japan, and maybe Germany is next......... and when they "retire", unlike the men who just walk into nice gear sales deals or become insurance executives, the best they can do are low-paid coaching jobs.

No, INAC is in Kobe, near Osaka.
It's very ambitious and may be rich.

I'm anxious about Nadeshiko League's future, too.

I hope there are no signs that the N league could fail.

Anyway I just read this http://www.jfa.or.jp/eng/topics/2011/7.html on the JFA site, an account of the Final lasu Sunday. I see that it was actually Urawa's first time reaching the final. Also I see that it was 3 internationals who missed their PKs for them in the shoot-out ! I dont know INAC well, but I recognise Kaihori and Kawasumi's names.

Best surprise is to see Emi Nakajima's name, she was very good in the u-20 WC in Germany (I think she was their #7 ? I might be wrong). I hope she can break through to the senior team before too long.

Of course now, the INAC roster just got very crowded !

Kyra - have you seen this Rumi Utsugi link ? I think I saw the text, but it is a nice photo too.

Here's another nice photo, Miyama and Toyoda celebrating last May - also this group one as they know they have made the World Cup - and also there are some nice Sameshima, Nagasato and Yamaguchi shots if you go forward or back in the collection.

Emi Nakajima is a main place kicker in both the U-20 team and INAC.

I think most of the U-20 members keep the starting positions in each team, though it might mean that N League doesn't yet have enough competent players.

Where is AndG ? Anyway when you return to us, please take a look at this video -

It is Rie Nakagawa (apologies to all Japanese if the spelling is wrong) of Belle who is interviewed, along with a local volleyball star (who looks tall enough to be a central DF for the Nadeshiko...lol). It was very boring to me, not being able to understand a word, and I was reaching to turn it off when, about 3/4 of the way through, it shows some of the Belle team (including Rie, her sister I think, one of the DFs, and Manami Nakano - and others ?) doing a dance entertainment piece, in cabaret style.

Perhaps Belle is so poor that the players have to do their own cheerleading too.

Wow, I'm gone for a month, and what has happened?
    - We have a new member, hi Kyra!
    - GoGoNadeshiko002 was shut down. :(
    - GoGoNadeshiko003 has already uploaded 50 videos. The king is dead, long live the king!
    - Nittere Beleza on the brink of disbanding?
    - Beleza's internationals going to INAC?
    - Mami moving back to Sweden...

I'll be looking through all the links that were posted here during my absence in the next days. You guys are making me really jealous by the way... one guy is Japanese, one guy has talked with Aya and Mami, one guy walks home together with Rumi...

I think I'm going to move to Potsdam or something. Or maybe unepomme can talk Naoko Wada into playing for a Bundesliga side so I can move to wherever that club plays.

That's nothing, this is a photo taken on my walk downtown this past weekend ! :D

Of course I am kidding........but it's a gorgeous photo, intended to welcome you back AndG !

Actually there may have been a younger Nadeshiko in the camera lens just yesterday - read this - although of course Kumi's goal did not win the FIFA Puskas Award (won by a Turk, even thogh Turkey did not even qualify for the World Cup !?), she may have been invited (possible subject to her getting time off school, and the JFA paying to fly her out) to FIFA's huge bash in Geneva.

Yokoyama, whose inclusion on the shortlist owes to her Messi-esque goal for Japan against Korea DPR during the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, was thrilled to see her name alongside that of the Argentinian superstar.
“I’m very happy I have been nominated,” she told FIFA.com. "It is just unbelievable to be on the list with Messi and other big-name players. When I received the ball, I had already decided to take it all the way by myself, but I was surprised I was surrounded by so many defenders.

Hi And G,nice to meet you too.
Mumf what do you mean about cyber space stuffs?
About Beleza i am sad to hear this because it's my fav in the league but it's mean Utsugi will not go back to them after this season and it's maybe one reason why they accept her trade in MHSC...
I will ask about Beleza situation next time to know her position about it.

I was referring to the Agiga facemaker program. By the way, I just looked at the blog and the new videos are much better quality, but perhaps you should say in the introduction which one is Rumi - I was surprised in the end because none of the French girls are taller than she. Fewer videos with more explanation would be better, just my opinion. But the accounts of each game are the best, and yes she obviously just had a huge game this past weekend, good to read.

I think Beleza will be OK because they have solved their money problem by off-loading their professionals (except Iwashimizu, who I assume is professional).

Hmmmm the video reminds me, and perhaps AKB48 would be interested in my suggestion, which is that they have a very boring lighthouse in their video, surrounded by a green field and no water in sight ....

Next time they should shoot their video here

    Or somewhere else ?

Beautiful, right ? Maybe they should hire me as chief promoter..... big $$$

Tough times at Belle too ? Well maybe not, but 4 players resign yesterday, the biggest surprise being perhaps the #7 Matsuda. Also last month the club clown (#22 or #23, she was wlays laughing) quit, so it's 5 in total.

I initally found this out in a more hopeful way - thanks to GoGo on youtube, I was linked to Natsuko Iseki's blog. She had just published perhaps her first English-language comment - here - by "mumf" of course, and then her next diary entry she tells that she is quitting Belle.

Also hosted by the blog manager is the very cute DF Nahuya Toyoda of NTV Beleza, and one of the photos in this entry suggest that she is one very, very cool cat (can we say, an "ikemen" here ?).
