oddly, the biggest key for robinho was missing pirlo, a player much-maligned by you and others , moved out to the left really helps the running of boateng, robinho, ambro from deep and the overlapping fullbacks to have a player like pirlo, who when healthy has been very solid for us...again. when pato gets back and if cassano comes, then the system won't be as dependent on pirlo, but right now the only other player who can pick out passes to the runners is of course, the genius dinho...but let's be honest, I don't blame allegri for not playing him, he is washed up, and that is coming from a huge dinho fan.
We've been losing a lot to Roma recently. I guess they just have our number these days. Kudos to them but I would still never trade places with Roma, not in a thousand years. No ones buying their club because after they look at the accounting they run for the hills.
I simply can't understand this game... Why put on Seedorf in that position? Tactically it made more sense to play Merkel in place of Pirlo. Seedorf doesn't have the legs, passing, or movement to play that position. Why did he leave a sub on the bench and only introduce an attacker at 85 minutes? Why were Robinho and Ibra so profligate? Robinho in the first half destroyed Mexes and with the goal gaping placed it wide. Ibra missed a sitter...
allegri should have switched seedorf and boateng once seedorf came on. robinho would have been able to roam around instead of being forced to the right since seedorf was camping on the left.

All I see from Pirlo since 2 or 3 seasons ago is misplaced passes, specially overhit ones. Sure he has a decent game here and then, but his downfall came and I don't think it will go away. I wonder what happened to him. He's about the same age as Scholes and Xavi and they haven't lost their passing skills. I don't blame anyone from giving up on Ronaldinho and I hope Cassano can contribute as a creator. The situation is even worse when we consider that Milan has no creativity whatsoever from the fullbacks. Boateng is trying to do this job, but he is "just" a very good player, not a world class one. edit: I just wanted to add that I loved watching Pirlo (and Scholes and Xavi) doing his thing. When I play football that's the role I like to take on the team and he was a great inspiration. However, I think his good days are long gone and that's why I often criticize him.
i don't think pirlo is washed up, just like i think it's no coincidence that milan's most dominant period of the game was in the begining of the game when pirlo was still on the field, and how the attacks dried up after seedorf stepped on
A midfield consisting of Pirlo, flanked by Gattuso and Ambrosini is destined to fail..I mean that trio hasn't worked for about 3 years.. Boateng should be utilized in the midfield along with Flamini, when he returns from injury.
