What a short list. Depressing...and to think, a few months ago we had Javier Chicharito Hernandez as our starting forward. For a split second it almost makes me wish we had never of sold him. It was his dream though.
If the National team is ever going to be a legit contender to win the World Cup, more than a dozen Mexicans will need to be playing in Europe. If Orozco can go, he needs to.
It's a catch 22 when you love the Mexican National team and the Mexican League. No other league out there I enjoy watching more. Seeing the league loaded with talent makes me a happy man, seeing the national team win games makes me a happy man. I wouldn't mind the sell off of talent if we were Argentina and serious talent was ALWAYS coming through, but when I see Pumas and America still starting fools like Palencia and Vuoso, it really bums me out. There is a lot of work that needs to get done.
I used to believe this. Now, I am not so sure. Its been said many times by different people, but Mexico should be producing quality players at the same rate Brazil and Argentina do. And with a more favorable cost of living to wage ratio than those two countries we _should_ be hiring their better prospects that don't go to the top Euro leagues, producing better and more professionally polished talent, hiring better development coaches. Maybe, once the narco violence subsides the Mexican league can start investing in geographical regions that are lacking attention. Regions like Baja, Guerrero(Costa Grande, Tierra Caliente and Costa Chica) and Oaxaca.
He's a downgrade version of Chicharo and the best striker suitable in Mexico for Chivas at the moment. and who the f*ck is Rafa?? if it's not Denigris or that downgrade kid, then we honestly shouldnt waste the time on anyone. Everyone else is just garbage or players who just didn't cut it when they played for us. I rather stick to Pina as striker or giving the spot to Vasquez. btw any thoughts on Elias Hernandez? He's much more efficient than el Venado and Sanchez.
There is just not much out there. Are u talking about Marquez Lugo? BTW, yes on Elias Hernandez, we've mentioned him before. Bad ass if we could.
Im almost at the point where i dont care who it is, as long as he plays the area. We have no centro delantero aside from Vasquez. Elias much better than venado.
agree we should either go for Chuleta or De Nigris. if it's not either one of them, don't waste the time and money. Cacho would not be bad, but he is like another Bravo. he could be hit or miss.
The thing to remember about some of the hires is that some players can't hack it when facing more pressure, whether that be the national team or whether that be Chivas/America. I don't want to gamble on players to see if they happen to pan out. I want someone who will immediately contribute and be a positive influence on the youngsters.
It's all a gamble, tell me which one of the prospects is not a gamble? sabemos que en el futbol transfers are hit or miss,I think you guys are asking way too much for someone that's a sure hit,we have to try someone out and if it works or not at least we tried something out that's just the way it goes.
Sure everyone is a gamble, but some are less than others. In the same way some are riskier but with higher payoff. In this case, I'm in the camp that wants lower risk, even if it means lower payoff. I only want someone who has proven he'll show up on the big stage, and who will be a positive role model. So for instance, Sabah has already shown he can score for the national team when it counts, despite his limitations. He also knows what it's like to play for Chivas. Other younger players, while they may have more potential, are higher gambles, and I don't think Vergara should pay $$$ for gambles like that.
Interesting. I was going to mention the chuletita option, since Pineda is already at CAzul (though he doesn't fit my preferences). So Elias would essentially be an upgrade over Jesus Sanchez (and Real figures whether he starts him or Medina). But in my view, whether he played much this season or not, we still need to replace Bravo on the team. So where is our new striker? If we get Elias, can we shop Venado around for someone decent?
Yes I'm not sure why you guys would be interested in him He's slow, lazy, kinda clumsy and hardly scores anything beside penalties and the occasional tap in He can hold up play
A straight trade of Cacho and Palencia for Medina? In a hearth beat Pikolin is untouchable That's half our team Pikolines + 9
man, this forum hates on Medina too much. He did well on the NT despite his limited time, had a great half against ManU, then he got injured and was gone for a long ass time. Cacho and Palencia together are not as productive as Medina. I don't think any of the previously mentioned trades for him are worth it, and I think that says a lot about the lack of mexican forwards.
This last World Cup proved it. Europe is the key to national team success. I'm not sure the quality of the foreigners is that big of an issue. Mexico doesnt have the dollars to compete with Euro leagues so at best theyll get fringe Euro players and Euro washouts. Maybe. But lack of player development was a problem before the violence hit. What does get developed should be sent abroad whenever possible to either sink or swim.
People that are offering Medina for Cacho and Palencia are crazy. Both Palencia (washed up) and Cacho (slow, chubby, worthless, never scores, stupid hair, how is he a proffesional footballer again?) are not worth it.
I thought people were serious about the Medina trade. lol Pikolin, yea right we could ever get a bad ass defender like him.
