The Iraqi team performance is sub par and embarassing...they first drew UAE youth team and today all they did was score a goal and then sit back and wait for Bahrain to score on them... it's like they lack motivation... bad refferieng, hell yea...but do I blame Iraq's results on that, no.
I hope Iraq's beat performance is still to come...just as when they won the Asian cup after poor perfomance in West Asian cup and then the Asian games.
I hope the remember, for many of them this is their last chance for more great achievements.

For the 3464456th time. Stop using Nashat as starter. For gods sake, the guy is slow, weak and messes up almost every chance he gets.

Emad & Mahdi are also not in form, I'd rather see Mustafa Karim up there instead of Emad.

Btw it's great to see Alaa on the scoresheet again, he and some of the other young guns like Ahmad Eyad are our future!

:eek:are you for real man? nashat has been iraqs mvp for the longest time now. HE IS THEIR OFFENSE, he spreads the ball with unbelievable accuracy and as for his speed i always thought he was average but hes actually been quite good so far in the khaleeji as far as getting back and tackling.

i actually cant believe you just said that hes like the cornerstone of this team man.

I stand to my comment. He has improved a bit from the UAE game, but he's not in form to be starter.

Btw I don't understand the hype about the victory on the media and on several arabic forums. It's not like they have done something special by beating a delepted Bahraini side.

Oman will be the first real test for Sidka and his squad!

About Nashat, We like him are we dont, Its the same when I talk about him with the boys, some agree with me and some dont. But its a fact he sucks, and he should be a starter and I just dont see what people see with him, he misses passes 1 of 10 shot is against the goal and still people keep saying he is our best player. He stinks now he isnt near the same player he was 07

i agree with this although Oman did tie that same Bahrain side, but still if we want to be dominant in the asian cup we cannot get over-excited about beating Bahrain.

0-0 draw with Oman and we're through the semis.

    A really bad performance today.

i would say salam shaker and younis mahmoud played the best today. Salam shaker is our best defender. btw did younis get a yellow card today. i didnt see him get a yellow card today and i hope not.
as far as kuwait, how are they playing?

Kuwait and us are the only teams that took their best available sides to the tournament. They did great against Qatar and played a very good first half against Saudi Arabia (were denied a penalty). Their #7 Al-Enzi is a very talented and fast player and will cause alot of trouble to our instable defence.

Iraq will be missing Younis, he recieved two yellow cards during the group stage.

thats unfortunate, he played well in all three games. i think emad should be benched and instead amjad and mustafa kareem should start. Emad has not done anything at all. Im surprised that there were more complains about nashat than emad.

hopefully we play 4-4-2 now like sensible teams instead of playing 4-3-3 and having two of our front three playing behind our midfield (like the oman game).

obviously emad and alaa didnt play well against oman they were playing defensive wings because our formation sucked and we were outnumbered in the midfield.

as far as the kuwait game, im really looking forward to it. Win or lose it should be a fun game to watch and good preparation for our team for the asian cup. On a side note, i must say that the artificial turf is ATROCIOUSLY HORRIBLE and i can't believe it was "fifa approved".

Iraq lost to Kuwait after a penalty shootout. They did very well overall, but some players simply don't deserve the play there anymore.

Hopefully that will make them hungry for more success.

Anyway it was a very entertainment game to watch, good fotboll by both side actually

    Just to lose on PK

The best part is he didnt even give him a yellow card! He was going to then he realized he already had one so he took it back. HORRIBLE REF, but good game. That definately should have been the final.

i agree, i never like to bring up names but nashat really needs to return to his from or he should really not start in the afc. also, emad did not do anything as a sub. and where was this samer saaed guy hiding. wala la3eeeb. his crosses are excellent, gave life to our right flank.

overall a very good game for iraq. from our horrible performance against oman, i have to say i was really impressed with the way iraq played. afterall its only the gulf cup.

any friendlies for iraq before the afc cup.
