I think Lauren Cheney will get some match time soon tonight. I would love to see her come on. Taking out O Reilly was a waste!!! She was providing some good runs on the left! Mexico are marking really tightly

This could go to overtime and penalties as well.

This is embarrassing. Mexico doesn't even have a quarter of the talent and experience that the US does.

And they shouldn't have. They don't have anywhere near the talent that the US does. Now I know what it feels like the be a Mexican when their men, who are more talented, lose to the USMNT.

Good Ole' Sunil Gulati and his plan for player development not only is it killing the men now it's killing the womens team too.

Sigh. The US dressing room is gona be sombre. I must salute Pia's expression of calmness throughout the match tho. For some coaches, they could have been screaming and shouting their heads off at the players during game time already.

I doubt Studio 90 is gona interview the players about the game.

When I saw Yael Averbuch, I was thinking SHE SHOULD HAVE STARTED IN MIDFIELD!

IF they beat Costa Rica, they will play Italy - first leg in Italy on 20th November, 2nd leg on 27th November. You'd think the defeat tonight would teach some humility and not make assumptions about winning games.

I'm not sure what match you were watching but the Mexican team was very skillful. I've said this countless times on this message board: the USWNT plays "soccer" while the other nations play futbol! The Mexican girls were comfortable with the ball at their feet and were moving it around with a sense of purpose(ie. to move up the pitch). Could Mexico's finishing been much better? Absolutely! Had the Mexicans been a bit more focused and calm, they could have delivered a true "shellacking" to the US.

Italy are at a similar level to Canada, and are generally rated higher than Mexico. So yes, the US will have to raise their game.
