Is this Sacha's competition. Are they deciding which former Chivas USA affiliated player from the US they want. Good for the kid. I like it when kids go to Europe to learn and eventually play

There is also a Belgian flag by his name in the reserve squad listing of Anderlecht's wikipedia page.

Can't seem to confirm that he's American.

Looks like he lived in the States for at least as many years as he was on Chivas USA, but can't find any pre-Chivas mentions.

Seems (as has been mentioned) that he may be at least in part Peruvian. Anybody know more about his background, like a birthplace perhaps?

I'll reach out to the club and see if I can get anything from them.

I can't find anything else but I thought I'd make it to track incase someone found out if he is American.

I did find a fan board that said he signed. They say he is peruvian and his family moved with him to Belgium. It was posted July 2009.

The same list as in my first post. It says hometown at the beginning.....http://www.mlssoccer.com/content/chivas-usa-youth-soccer-update-may-8

He also seems to go by Carlo Franco Chueca http://academy.demosphere.com/teams/10876653/10994736-10876678/11634809.html

Carlo was born in Peru to Peruvian parents. He lived in the States for four years, playing for three youth clubs. Doesn't look like he's a Yank, though.

Not surprised as Football Manager can be wrong. Case in point is Romone Rose who they still list as an American in the game. Sometimes I think the developers think if the players played in college or something they are American, or perhaps an MLS youth program in Carlo's instance.

The developers outsource the research to local people for the different areas... it's an impossible task to fact check the large database of players they maintain, so things like this slip through.
