Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] first round again on new years eve, no?
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] This is somewhat off topic, but I'd like to express my concern and anger at the use of dirt fields at many Japanese high schools. It always pains me when I see kids playing soccer on a dirt field. Japan is a developed country and these kids should not be playing on a playing surface that could potentially cause injuries. In America almost every single high school in he country has a grass field. If America, which has many more high schools than Japan, has the resources to do such a thing then Japan has no excuses. Unfortunately the bureaucracy running these schools will never even consider the idea. Yes many private high schools do have grass fields, but not everyone is fortunate to attend one of these schools. Many naysayers will say "Well its been this way forever", but that is not an excuse for not having grass fields. Surely there is a way to get these kids playing on a surface that will be safe and not cause injuries.
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] No idea, they don't have the website up yet.
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] We just got our artificial field a few months ago, and to go play the first round on a dirt field was horrible. It took us 20 minutes to re-tune to the cartoon-like rebounds, and of course we had our injuries. In the last two years have seen games on grounds where you can still see the remains of the pitcher's mound, and one where we played last year that generated more dust than the Gobi desert. Really dreadful. Thanks heaven our next rounds are either on artificial ground or grass (assuming we keep winning). I agree, dirt grounds can be Ok until the kids are 12, maybe 14yo. They are more flexible, less prone to injuries, and it helps their soccer to play on a quick surface, but for young men of 17, 18, it is a dead-trap, and also makes for ugly soccer. BTW, the zenkoku last year it started on the 30th of December, on January first the Kokuritsu is used for the Emperor's Cup final!
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] oh right, opening match of first round was on 30th already, rest on 31st
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Nope. Opening game = 30th First round (all other teams) = 31st Rest = 1st Second game = 2nd Third game = 3rd ...then I don't remember
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] yes i was referring to first round only, when i checked i saw only 31st all, but there was opening match already on 30th however, will be same or at least similar this year i think

Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Prefecture winners so far Hokkaido: Muroran Ohtani Akita: Akita Ritsu Fukui- Maruoka
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] We won 14-0 in the third round last Sunday... When my team clicks on, they're really, but REALLY good. Next Sunday we play the best team on our side of the scoreboard, and if we win we should go no probs to the final... But two teams on the other side are imo better than us. And if we make it to Zenkoku, it would be a miracle if we win the first game. We have at the moment only four third-graders among the starters. Our players are skilled, but small... and by skilled I mean no Messi yet... It is all knock-out, thou, so one never knows. Our goalie from last year already climbed up to the A team in the Ritsumeikan UNI team. I think him (Kishigami) and one of our third-graders (Kambara) might have a shot at becoming J.Leaguer. We'll see!
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] would be great to see you and your team again at Zenkoku go Ritsumeikan Uji!!!
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Hey, this was the best moment last year...
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] I've never seen this kind of wall before ... By the way, good luck Goru, tell your kids they have plenty of supporters on the internet .
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Thanks everybody... Ah! The pressure is rising!!!
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] WE MADE IT!!! A glorious 3-2 victory away in Higashiyama, and we're in the best 8. However, our team is VERY immature (we have only 4 third-graders among the starters...), and I really doubt we can aim to victory. The road to the final, thou, is not so harsh, today we knocked out the favorites on our side of the scoreboard, and on their very field... We'll see!
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Aomori- Aomori Yamada Won 11-0 and then 8-0 in the prefecture final I doubt that they'll ever lose in their prefectural tournament bar some miracle.\ Tottori- Yonagokita Supposed to be Aomori Yamada quality this year. Definitely watch out for Shoji Gen (CB) who signed for Kashima.
Re: The 89th All-Nippon High School Tournament Official Thread [R] Quarterfinals on Sunday, in Kyoto... Rakutoh, watch out!! I saw my boys practicing this week, and they are hungry beasts!!! (If only we had some bigger player... four out of five GK/DF are second graders!!)
