Buttom line: keep the yellow-blue-red first uniform and you can go crazy with the away shirt. In my opinion, one color is too boaring, like England.
Hmm, England wears white with blue shorts most of the time, and it looks quite nice. Other than some sense of nostalgia (nostalgia for what?) I really don't get the strong attachment you seem to have for the clown outfit. Yeah, that's the kit our greatest generation (my dad thinks that the late 60's to mid 70's generation was better) wore, but so what? Really, what did they give us? Probably the biggest joy they gave me was Rincon's goal against Germany in WC 90, and they were wearing the red shirt which was the home uniform back then. But when it really counted they made asses of themselves and they let us down. WC 94 was a total disaster and a complete embarrassment. And I was there in the Rose Bowl for all 3 games, I lived it. So yeah, I have no love for that clown outfit, not just because is ugly. The all-blue uniform with yellow trimming actually looks elegant, not boring. Anyway, is reminiscent of the '62 WC uniform (blue/blue/white) our first WC presentation. Same world cup where Marcos Coll scored the first, and so far the only Olympic goal in WC history. And in our sad and pathetic WC history, that little and insignificant record is probably our only claim to fame. Heck, I'd even go back to the '75 Copa America uniform (el color zapote) over the clown outfit. That's the first time we reached the finals in a CA. And arguably that was a bigger accomplishment than the 2001 CA where most teams showed up with their b team and Argentina didn't even bother to come.
Look, I'm not trying to argue or convince you, after all it's all about personal taste. While you prefer all blue, all yellow or all red, I prefer our traditional color for the past 18 years with a better design of the shirt. About the 2nd uniform, I would like to give up on the white and go for the Blue-red-yellow we used in the Copa America 1995 or to return to our colors in Italy 1990 with red-blue-yellow. I also don't like our altrnate as white, I prefer red if we choose blue for 2nd uniform, or vice versa. And again, it's all about personal taste.
1)I don't think is a clown outfit.........It represents our flag and the best symbol we hold dear to. It should and it must help remember our players know what they are playing for.......and not for another "new" kit as if this was a club in Europe after a transfer. La Seleccion is not and must not be a team that players expect to play for and collect a check from as if it was a club. It is representing 44M+ colombians illusioned with better times and soccer glory. About the red shirt from Italy '90, if it makes some people happy, let's make it the alternate less the flowery design. As far as I am concerned, that kit made our players look like tropical parrots running around......its design made it seem as if they had feathers around their chests...... 2)Like or not, the generation that played Italy '90, USA '94 and France '98 put us on the football map for good. And just because we didn't do as expected in USA '94, it doesn't mean we should abandon our color scheme and national identity. We are known for having yellow jerseys, for the emblematic "Cole", for fans wearing their yellow jerseys and waiving their yellow, blue and red flags in the stadiums all over the world. Personally, any uniform that has the flag color scheme makes me being proud of MY TEAM and COUNTRY....Let's value our flag and let's hope we can put ourselves in the map once again with the tri-color scheme. Argentina didn't abandon their jersey after Germany 2002, nor has Cameroon after not reaching the world cup in 2006......................Let's stick to worrying about who plays, how we play and if we get strikers that can score a freaking goal..... The rest will play it out by itself.
Nah dude, I'm not arguing with you. I was just wondering why you like the clown outfit so much. BTW, I don't want an all-red uniform and definitely not an all-yellow uniform which would be ugly as hell, I don't know where you got that idea. As to your suggestion of a blue-red-yellow 2nd kit.... damn dude, now you want us to look like freaking macaws? :0 But you're right, it's all about personal taste... some have good taste, some don't
Some of our players may be uneducated and some dumb as dirt, but I’m sure they still remember that they’re Colombian and they represent the country. There's no need to cut up the flag, make an outfit and dress up our players in it so that they're reminded of that fact. I give them more credit than that. For the first 30 years of our NT we wore a blue jersey. Going back to it wouldn't be anything at all like a club getting a new kit. As it is we use blue (though lighter than before) as our 2nd kit, so it wouldn’t be such a stretch. And whatever kit we play in, they will still represent us just the same. Not any less, not any more. The problem with the ‘90 jersey is that, well, it was 1990. It was loud and looked shiny, almost like satin. Blame that on holdover 80s fashion. Same with the silly shoulder and chest stripes (the feathers?). Neither of those is an issue today. Although not my first choice for 1st kit, I'd take it over the loud and gaudy yellow/blue/red outfit any day. - WC94 was more than we “didn’t do as expected”. It was a complete debacle and an embarrassment of epic proportions. And to top it off, it ended in an ugly and senseless tragedy. - I love el Cole, I love his clownish antics and crazy outfit… he’s great as an unofficial mascot. But I don’t want our team to resemble him. And our fans will always wave our Tricolor flag in the stadiums, no matter what color jersey we wear. See that’s the thing. Personally, I don’t need our team to dress up like the flag to feel proud about my team and country. For that I need them to win. Or at least to know that they played their best, that they gave it all if they lose ( And that we played with the best team possible, not with players that are there because of “rosca” or because of the influence of a powerful agent or directivo). That’s what would make me feel proud of them, not the superficiality of wearing the flag as a uniform. And here’s another point as long as we‘re talking about national colors. I would much rather wear the flag on our chest, perhaps in shield shape, than the emblem of a federation that has robbed us and let us down time and time again because of their corruption and incompetence. Of course, but with the two main clowns back in charge of this circus, I fear that Falcao or whoever is upfront will remain a very lonely man.
For everyone who hates on Lotto, our current uniform looks like a very classy very updated verison of our 1990 Adidas uniforms the reason everyone is hating on it is because it is not a "big name brand"
I don't like it so much....I prefer something more plain, although the uniforms of 1990 were lovely. The one of 1994 was beautiful, home and away. Also the one of 1998. This can be nice (Russia away shirt) Imagine yellow shirt with blue adidas stripes and the shade of our federation logo is in the middle of the shirt, with dark blue shorts and red shocks. classic, simple, very nice.
The youth team plays with Yellow or Blue shirts and White pants, white socks I actually like that alot, I like the white uniform we use in practice and we used at the Gold Cup in 2005.
We failed to let in a single goal in the entire competition. If games are 93mins long thats well over 651mins without letting in a goal. But hey people always gotta find the negative in positives. Im not saying we were the best and beat Brasil and Argentina on route to the final but dont paint it like it we took best players and took gold in the special olympics.
this is a fake mock up of a Colombia Adidas that I didn't think looked so bad way nicer than the Millos ones. I like the NT shirts because they are usually classier than Club Jeresys. I like the Spain one but in Blue or just like the Spain one or this
I'd like it better without the little side stripes on the body, but it is cool anyway. I only posted the yellow Millos jersey as an example of how horrible that color combo can go and as something to avoid. Learn your WC history! We earned that star when we won the '46 WC.... sheesh
I didn't design it and have 1 star for Copa America tho most teams don't have stars for that but it is our only title If you read the 1st thing I wrote next to the poster says FAKE
