Yes, it is linked from his homepage.

But homepage I like the most at Werder is Marins. It has a twitter link, too.

Last week Werder II signed Liam Boyce, a 19 years old striker from Northern Ireland. Here is a very nice goal for his former team Cliftonville:

Here is a bit more about the new kid:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/irish/8954637.stm

"He was named the NI football writers' player of the year in May. Boyce scored 19 goals in his debut season with Cliftonville, helping the Belfast club finish second in the Carling Premiership"

    Looks like a great acquisition...

That's too easy. I agree that a playmaker is missed if we want to play in a 4-1-2-1-2 (that's why it didn't work), but then another system needs to be found, that suits the players we have.

The players showed a good performance in Leverkusen and got a 2-2 draw.
Almeida and Marin with the goals. :)

No matchday thread? I was away for a few days, otherwise I would have started one myself.

A considerably better performance than on Wednesday against Inter indeed. However, we still continue to concede absolutely stupid, avoidable goals. Especially Derdiyok's equaliser simply should not happen in professional football, our defending as a team is atrocious. Mertesacker and Wiese saved us numerous times again.

But the team fought at least, and actually had some good combinations even. Been a while that we've seen some structure in our attacking game. Guess more can't be expected from the second string, we desperately need our key players to come back from injury, so the international break clearly comes at the right time for us.

Werder behaves like a circus. A newspaper (Bild) reported that Werder froze a part of the players September salaries and it is true. So the players get the rest of the September salary with their October payment.

The management doesn't want to speak about the reasons for this action, Allofs only confirmed the newspaper article indirectly "I expect that internas do not become public". The media assume that it is a reaction an the bad performances by the players, but in my opinion no management can be so stupid to do such an action.

I think it is more likely an action to find a spy within the locker rooms (that would be clever and what I like) or it has to do with financial problems because of Müllers stadium project. :(

I really can't imagine that it is a financial issue, considering how much Werder has been earning in the past couple of years while spending much less in comparison. Even if they'd use marble floors and golden water-taps it just can't be that expensive.

However, the way the issue has been handled publicly is a PR disaster that will further damage our image. If this was supposed to be a populist signal to teach our team a lesson and please the fans (-> "lazy bastards are all earning to much"), it has backfired totally.

Some positive news. Werder II beat the Bayern reserve 2-0.
Lennard Thy and Pascal Testroet scored the goals. :)

So at least the group got finished with a win against the title holder. Nevertheless it was a horrible CL season, caused by not-hungry established players and injuries problems.

good to see a clean sheet and a good confidence boost for the boys.

such results are bitter readings because it reminds what we are capable of if we get our **** together, but each campaign we end up as a joke in the CL.

judging from his substitution, looks like silvestre is going to play again in the coming few games
