Yep, I'm a FOX Soccer Channel apologist. That's why I started a thread called "FOX Soccer Channel Stupidity Thread". Hahahahaha.
How about the play by play repeatedly referring to TFC's goalkeeper tonight as Stefan Frei... until I tweet them pointing out that it's actually Jon Conway.
Can't believe no one else is as aggravated as I am about the Serie A commentary blunder yesterday (sat). I don't watch much Serie A but figured Roma v. Inter was good enough reason to watch it. Keith Costigan comes on and goes, now lets send it out to your match commentator Richard Widdle (awesome commentator who does Serie A matches despite sounding like a mix between a Scotsman with an Italian accent or just a leprechaun) only to have Costigan announce the rest of the match which sounded like a really nerdy talking over the match from his mom's basement. I can't stand Costigan and I enjoy Richard Widdle's commentary. Color me double disappointed.
Richard Whittle's pronunciation of Javier Zanetti's name or Cambiasso is worth the price of admission. Costigan? Not so much
Does anyone else who watches FSC on Comcast have a weird reception problem? Every few minutes, there's a very short visual interference with an accoompanying volume decrease. Then over the next few seconds the volume reverts to its prior level. This only happens when I'm watching FSC and no other channel, and happens even when playing back a recording. So I am pretty sure it's not my television. Comcast isn't exactly being helpful...
i'm guessing they lost the audio commentary feed. did he mention it at all? I remember this happened to Costigan once a few years ago and he was dreadful.
Wonder if it had to do with the fact that they lost power at the stadium. I even heard Arsenal players had to dress using the lights of their cell phones!
Rogandino's pronunciations on the Champions League Highlights show has always been less than stellar, but one absolutely floored me today - "Mestalla" - you can guess how he pronounced it.
Stupidity: Christian Miles beginning ever FS Match Day by saying there's breaking news from Warren Barton, only to have Warren come on and essentially dish 3-day-old gossip. I've seen them do this in Super Sunday Plus as well.
That Warren Barton feels there's unrest in the Liverpool lockerroom and Fernando Torres looks like he wants to leave in January and that Steven Gerrard, as captain, needs to keep the team together. Breaking.
There's really no reason, unless you're some kind of masochist, to watch FSC for anything other than matches and Sky Sports News.
I could just picture Christian Miles breaking the news this morning: Martin O"Neill left Aston Villa. OMG!!!!!
Anyone watch Fox Soccer Tonight - Liverpool v. Blackpool? the editor should be fired. About 45 minutes of football highlights but they did NOT show Torres being subbed off after 10 minutes AND they didn't show the goal Liverpool scored! How could you put a highlight show together and not show 1 of the goals in a 3 goal match? Absolute mugs
lol That's hilarious!! I never understood the fundamental concept behind a 45-minute highlight show** but if its not even highlights and just random segments totalling 45 minutes in duration that makes the concept behind the program seem all the more bizarre. ** Notice when you are sifting through a selection of movies to rent the options are generally 1) see preview, 2) watch movie or 3) return to list. There's no "4) see half the movie" nor is option #1 a 45-minute preview. Stupid.
warren barton: "well they've got a bit of pace, they're well organized, tidy at the back" what better way to say i've got no idea what i'm talking about
What happened to showing the whole game replayed? They did that last year I thought. It was interesting that on Monday afternoons they would show WPS games the whole way.
